Guest ligerbomb03 Report post Posted December 18, 2003 The best swerve in recent times is Mighty Molly becoming Iron Virgin Molly in Wrestlemania 18, stir frying Hurricane in her wok. Quote of the day
Guest Just J Report post Posted December 18, 2003 Swerve: 1. A joke that one wrestler does to another. 2. A false report that a wrestler or promoter leaks to the press. 3. When a finish of a match is changed so that all of the industry insiders are left shocked. Excuse me sir, but in what dictionary did you find this definition to the word swerve? My dictionary seems to have something entirely different. Well since we are talking about pro wrestling terminology it doesn't surprise me that this definition isn't in a conventional dictionary. But if you go to any search engine and search for "wrestling terminology" you'll find plenty of definitions concerning pro wrestling slang. It also has been reported all over the place that not many people backstage were expecting Foley to walk out. The ending was kept pretty hush hush.
Guest Peter_Griffin Report post Posted December 18, 2003 I liked that swerve. I liked the idea of Foley walking out because it gives the idea that he has something up his sleeve.

Plus the fact Foley/Orton never even started didn't result in a swerve. It was bait and switch. A match hyped that doesn't take place is also a bait-and-switch, or copping out. Not a swerve. Swerve is a major impact on the company that no one saw coming, like the nWo. NO ONE expected Hogan to be the third man, and it changed the wrestling world....in WCW.
