I'm done with chapter 23:

Chapter 22: Groundbreaking II

Zircon was walking up the stairs, happy as ever, until she suddenly heard Dr. Tenma’s voice again! *You know that Dr. O’shay was lying to you the whole time, Zircon,* he said. Zircon was shocked and stopped going up the stairs. *You thought trying to forget about me, was the only way to not be so worried? Forgetting never works! Besides, I’ve heard that even people think that you’re too dangerous to be around!* Zircon quickly covered her mouth with both hands. *I will keep getting into your mind, until you’ll soon fork over that jewel! After that, I will take over Metro City, and your life will be ruined forever!* Zircon quickly put her hands over her ears, and started acting depressed. *Please, I just wish this nightmare was over!* she thought severely upset. She quickly ran up the stairs into Astro’s bedroom. Zircon spotted Astro sitting on his bed. He noticed Zircon came into his room in a big hurry. Her eyes were filling up with tears. “I overheard you and Dr. O’shay talking about Dr. Tenma,” Astro said. “It’s a nightmare, Astro!” Zircon said. “I can’t take this anymore! Tenma will never get off my mind! It’s just going to keep bothering me until I’m destroyed!” Still standing, Zircon put her hands over face, and starts crying. Astro was surprisingly shocked, and walks over towards Zircon; trying to calm her down. He put one of his hands on her shoulders, and looked straight at her eyes. “Don’t say that, Zircon,” Astro said. “Dr. Tenma is only doing this so you could give up that jewel on your forehead a lot faster.” Zircon took her hands off of her face, and jerked around to get Astro’s hand off of her shoulder. “I know!” she said loudly. Astro was shocked. He never realized that Zircon all of a sudden gets mad at him. “You’ve told me tons of times, and now I’m getting frustrated from it!” Astro soon gets his confidence back. “What else do you want me to say?” Astro asked. “Doctor, Zoran, and even I, try our best to help keep your mind off of Dr. Tenma! Other than that, we still don’t even know your creator’s name! Not even you can remember it!”

Zircon was shocked. She then sighs and tilted her head down. Astro calms down. “Why can’t you still understand that we’re trying to help you?” Astro asked. “I’m sorry, Astro,” Zircon said. She walked towards her bed, and sits on it. “You don’t seem to know how bad my life has been so far. I can’t remember my creator’s name; Dr. Tenma won’t stop bugging me, and even though this jewel is so powerful, I now realize that people think I’m too dangerous to even be around them.” Zircon stood up and walked over to the window. She did nothing but gazed outside the window, or looked at her reflection. “Where did you get the information about people being afraid of you?” Astro asked. “I heard Dr. Tenma talking to me in my mind while I was going up the stairs,” Zircon said. She then turned to look at Astro. “Astro, I’m really scared. What are we going to do?” Astro walked towards Zircon. Standing behind her, he put his hands on her shoulders. He looked at Zircon’s eyes while she turned her head to look at Astro’s eyes. “We’ll do the best we can, Zircon,” Astro said smiling. “No matter what, Doctor, Zoran, your friends, and I will always be by your side to help defeat him.” Zircon’s frown quickly turns into a happy smile. “Thanks, Astro,” she said. “Let’s just hope we’ll defeat him, for good.” Without interrupting, Dr. O’shay came up the stairs, and overheard Astro’s and Zircon conversation. He smiles and thought, *Sometimes, Astro’s words cheers me up a lot. I’m just glad I have a robot that can create tons of speeches.* Doctor walks towards his bedroom, also carrying a happy mood.

Meanwhile, in Dr. Tenma’s lair, Tenma acting severely upset; mad enough to slam his fists onto a table, and leaving cracks in it. “I was so close!” he yelled. “Those robots I’ve created should’ve been strong enough to destroy Zircon!” Tenma looks at his battle-bot blueprints. He soon had another idea in mind. “Wait a minute, what if I rearrange these blueprints to make something new? I’ll create a robot holding over 30 different abilities, including the ones Astro and maybe even Zircon has! This robot will have 1,000,000 horsepower, multiplying abilities, transformation, and much more! Soon enough, Zircon will have to fork over the jewel!”

Any suggestions?

Partly Off Topic:Tenma never gives up does he?

Well, except from episode 50:The Final Battle, in the series.

This, is different.

This is like showing a full-lenth movie right after the 50th episode.

When it's finished, I could probably get it published right after I get the mistakes out.

Since in the first chapter, he realized that Zircon's jewel holds tons of power, and now, he never gives up until the jewel is in his possession.

Right now, I'm thinking of a trailer for it.

I'll post it in as a script either today, or another time.

Once again a continuation of Tic Tac Astro's story:

First the Trailor:

If I were to make this story a movie, I need to make a trailer.

So, here's the trailer I made, but it's in script form:

Narrator: Everything Astro did to save the world, had finally made his dream come true. A few months has then passed, and a new robot was then awakened by Dr. Tenma; from being lost deep into the ocean. When too much energy was used, the robot malfunctioned, and destroyed Dr. Tenma's lair. And now, Tenma realized that using the robot's power, he could destroy Metro City!

(Area moves to Dr. O'shay's house)

Astro:A robot!

Zoran:How did it get here, Doctor?

Doctor:I don't know, but let me take it to the ministry to awaken it.

(Doctor returns from the ministry)

Doctor:I would like you two to meet, Zircon.

(Astro and Zoran were amazed)

Astro:How did you end up on our front lawn?

Zircon:Somebody awakened me, but that person give me energy I'm not compatible with. He had almost spiky hair on his head, and the same on his chin.

Everyone except Zircon:TENMA!

(Farther in the movie, in Astro's bedroom)

Zircon:I now realize that Dr. Tenma wants to steal this jewel from me. Without it, I'm done for.

Astro:Don't worry, Zircon. Doctor, Zoran, your friends and I will always be by your side to help protect you.

(Zircon smiles)

Narrator:Meanwhile, at Tenma's lair...

Tenma:If an army of battle bots didn't work, I'll create an ultimate robot holding tons of abilities that will force Zircon to fork over the jewel! *laughs evilly*

(Tenma soon sends out the robot while Astro, Zoran, Zircon, Doctor, Alejo, Kennedy, and Abercrombie were outside)

(The robot multipies into multiple robots)

Zircon:Dr. Tenma is creating a huge robot invasion! He's doing it to steal the jewel!

Astro:I'm not going to let him do that!

(A huge battle broke out, but the multiple robots soon snatched everyone into the air, and brung them to Dr. Tenma's lair. Everyone was locked up, except for Zircon)

Tenma:Fork over that jewel, or your friends are history!

Astro:Don't do this, Zircon!

Zoran:We're your friends!

Doctor:He's just doing this for power!

Zircon *mumbles*:I have no choice...

(Screening suddenly blacks out)

Narrator:What choice will Zircon have?

(Screening then shows quick pics after Zircon's decision)

Narrator:Astro Boy:Zircon's Jewel.

Rated "PG" (I made that up...)

That's my trailer.

Reply A.S.A.P for any suggestions!!!

More Story!

Astro thought Zircon had a nightmare, but to Zircon, she had a vision!

Chapter 23: Zircon’s Dr. Tenma Nightmare

It was almost eight o’ clock, and Astro and Zircon were both dressed in their pajamas. “Wow,” Zircon said. “The weekend went by fast.” Astro nodded. “Yeah,” he said. “But don’t bother with it. It’ll come by again in five more days.” Zircon nods and then shows off an “Okay,” smile. Astro turned off the lights, and they both went to sleep.

Things didn’t go very well when Zircon was sleeping. She was tossing, turning, and even shivering. Due to this problem, she must be having a nightmare. In her nightmare, it shows, at first, her outside on a bright, lovely day in Metro City. Suddenly, with quick force, something plucked her jewel right off her forehead! Even though the jewel was off her forehead in her nightmare, she was still alive. *I’m alive?* she thought. Zircon tried to figure out what snagged the jewel of her forehead; she soon spotted one of Dr. Tenma’s robots; known to be a robot dog flying in mid-air. “My jewel! Without it, I can’t use any of my powers!” she yelled. The jewel was taken by the robot dog farther away from Zircon, until all of a sudden, the whole background changed from bright and happy, to cold and dark. Zircon noticed Dr. Tenma appearing in a huge visual television screen. He was wearing some type of emperor, ruler, or king clothes. He also had possession of the jewel that was inserted into his forehead instead of Zircon’s! “Dr. Tenma!” Zircon yelled. She then talks to herself, saying, “This isn’t a dream, it’s a nightmare!” Other than looking at the television screen, she noticed huge armies of battle-bots flying high in the air; destroying houses, stores, and even the Ministry of Science! Dr. Tenma started laughing evilly until Zircon turned around. “Excellent! This robot invasion is all coming to plan! Thanks to me, who created the ultimate robot, I, Dr. Tenma, the supreme ruler, will rename this city, Robot City!” He laughs once more, and Zircon gasped. With quick force, Zircon woke up in an instant.

Astro quickly woke up when he heard Zircon surprisingly awake. She was hyperventilating pretty fast. He got out of his bed and ran towards her bed. “What’s wrong, Zircon?” he asked, putting an arm on her shoulder. “Did you have a nightmare?” Zircon turned to look at Astro. “I don’t think it was a nightmare,” she said. “I think I just had a vision!” Astro was confused. “A vision?” he asked. “Showing what?” “It was showing what Dr. Tenma would do when he finally has the jewel,” said Zircon. “Before he steals it, he going to create a huge, robot invasion, have them snatch all of the citizens of Metro City, and hold them hostage until I fork the jewel over!” Astro took his hand off of Zircon’s shoulder. “What would happen afterwards?” “I’ve got a bad feeling that he’ll start threatening them until he has that jewel,” said Zircon, crossing her arms. “Since he wants the jewel so much, I just know that he’ll start threatening them.” Astro thought for a minute. “Well, there’s probably no way he’d do something like that while we’re at school tomorrow.” “Yeah, I guess you’re right,” said Zircon. “Let’s tell Dr. O’shay about the vision you had in the morning,” said Astro. “But, for now, let’s just get some more sleep.” Zircon nodded. Astro walked over to his bed, in order to turn off the lights, and they both went back to sleep.

Chapter 24: Dress up!

The next morning, Astro and Zircon got up and got dressed for school. Zircon took a huge glance at the clothes she was wearing. “You know,” she said. “I think I could use a new look other than wearing the same clothes every day.” Astro looked at Zircon. “Well, what kind of clothes would you like to wear?” he said. Zircon thought for a minute. “I feel like wearing something springy,” she said smiling while looking at Astro. “Maybe wearing a sport-type dress would work.” Using her jewel, she instantly changed her normal outfit into a sport dress; it was a red, short dress with the lining just above her knees. Zircon then looked at Astro’s boots. “Maybe I could change the style of my shoes to look like yours,” she said. “It’s going to look a little like yours, but it’ll be cut down to my ankles.” Astro acted confused. “How are you going to do that?” he asked. “Watch closely,” said Zircon. Using the jewel, Zircon scanned Astro’s boots. She created an outline, and cut off some of the parts that weren’t needed. She then fixed the size and shape.

According to what her shoes looked like before; brown shoes with triangular-shaped cutting on the top, she did the same for her new shoes. After she was finished creating her new shoes, she stopped using the jewel’s energy, and instantly, the shoes she created stood right in front of Astro; who was surprisingly amazed! “Wow,” he said. “You didn’t tell me your jewel could that, either.” Zircon smiled as walked towards her new shoes, and put them on. From her view, it had a great style and color that matched her sport dress. “How come you didn’t tell me about this?” She then looks at Astro, and says, “I didn’t know I had this kind of power either. I’ve been here for three days, and I still don’t know how they work yet. Right now, I’m just trying my best to keep this jewel in control.” Astro agreed with Zircon and nodded. He then remembered something. “I just remembered something, Zircon,” he said. “We need to tell Dr. O’shay about the vision you had last night.” Zircon stared at Astro, acting like he had no idea on what he was talking about. A few seconds later, her memory kicked in. “Oh, yeah! I almost forgot!” “We better tell him now before school starts.” said Astro. He then looks at the clock that is sitting on the nightstand near his bed. “It’s a quarter past eight. We’ve got at least forty-five minutes to tell him.” Zircon nodded, and they both headed out of the bedroom, and down the stairs.

Zoran was wide awake and already downstairs before Astro and Zircon. She always wants to get up before anyone else. Since today was a great day for her, as in she was enrolled in school, she was already dressed and was waiting by the door. Well, she was waiting by the door. Since Astro’s school doesn’t start until nine o’ clock, she started working on the three-hundred piece jigsaw puzzle Zircon left out on the coffee table yesterday. Astro and Zircon walked towards Dr. O’shay, who was sitting on a chair in the kitchen. “Good morning, Doctor,” said Astro. Doctor managed to say, “Good morning, you two.” to them, but he all of a sudden, gets shocked by the look in both of their eyes as soon as he took his nose out of the paper. “Wow, I’d thought I’d see you two when you say that, I guess that didn’t happen today.” “We’re sorry,” said Astro. “But there’s something really important that Zircon needs to tell you.” *Zircon has to tell me something?* Doctor thought. *I should’ve known she’d say that. But, I don’t understand. There were tons of things Zircon, Astro and I have already gone through. It went from talking about the jewel, to talking about Dr. Tenma. What does Zircon have to tell me this time? Will it be something located in any of the two topics?*

Any Suggestions?

Chapter 25: Zircon’s Vision

Zircon was just about to tell Dr. O’shay about her vision, until soon remembered something. “Hold that thought, Zircon,” he said, holding a finger at Zircon. “Zoran, may I have a word with you?” Zoran heard Doctor’s voice, and poked her head through the kitchen. “Yes, Doctor?” she asked. “I just remembered something,” said Doctor. “Do you remember sending those pictures you’ve taken, using your pet bird, Houdini, to Inspector Tawashi?” Zoran acted curious. “Yeah, about two days ago,” she said. “I gave Houdini the address, but now, I’m not sure if he gave the pictures to him. I haven’t got a report from Houdini lately, or Inspector Tawashi.” Doctor put one of his hands under his chin. Zoran fully stepped through the kitchen. “Well, let’s just hope Houdini gave them to Inspector Tawashi by now. I’ll bet he’ll come by here later on today.” “I hope you’re right about this, Zoran” Doctor said. He then turned to look at Astro and Zircon. “Zircon, you said before you have something to tell me?” Zircon nodded. “It’s about last night,” she said. “What about it?” Doctor asked. “I had a dream last night.” Doctor smiled. “Really? What was it about?” Astro and Zircon looked at each other, Astro nodded, then Zircon nodded, and they both looked at Dr. O’shay. “Let’s just say it wasn’t really a dream,” said Zircon. “Well, it wasn’t an ordinary dream.” “Oh?” Doctor said looking surprised. “What was it then?” “Zircon says she had a vision,” said Astro. “A vision? What was it showing?” “My vision was showing that Dr. Tenma was going to create a huge, robot invasion, to help him steal this jewel from me,” said Zircon. “Really?” Zoran said, cutting into their conversation. “Tenma never gives up, does he?” Zircon looked at Zoran. “All he wants is power, Zoran,” she said. “That’s all he cares about. I’m not sure if he even cares about the citizens of Metro City.” “I don’t think he does,” said Doctor. Zircon looked at Doctor. “It’s just like he has a mind of his own. He hardly cares about anybody who lives here. He just wants this city to be ruled by him; acting like it’s his own territory. But, he’s doing it all by force. The more he does this, the more he’s hurting the citizens of Metro City, and also destroys everything in his path.”

Zircon tilted her head down and thought about what Dr. O’shay said. She then looked at Doctor and said, “There’s something I don’t understand,” Doctor, Astro, and Zoran all looked at Zircon. “What’s not to understand?” Doctor asked. “Well, I know that he’s doing all of this, but after all of the things I’ve been through, I still don’t know my creator’s name. Can you try running a memory scan on me today, Doctor?” Doctor nodded. “I can empty your memory into a specialized memory bank,” he said. “And I’ll try to dig up everything I can on what’s left of your creator from your memory, but I don’t know how long it will take.” Zircon nodded. “That’s fine with me,” she said. Doctor nodded, and then looked at his watch. He noticed it was a quarter to nine. “You three better get going,” he said. “School will start in fifteen minutes.” Zoran was so excited to see her new classmates; she practically bounced off the walls. “Oh, I can’t wait! It feels like a perfect day for me!” Astro and Zircon looked at Zoran, and both giggled. Zircon then looked at Doctor. “Doctor,” she starts. “When will you start scanning my memory cells?” “Right after you three get out from school,” said Doctor. “Come by the Ministry of Science, and I’ll take care of everything from there. Astro will help you get there, and show you around the ministry.” Astro and Zircon looked at each other, and both nodded. Zoran was starting to lose her patience. “Come on, people!” she says. “Time is money! We can’t waste anymore time here!” Doctor looked at Zoran. “Calm down, Zoran,” he said getting up from his chair. “You need to be patient. There’s still plenty of time to get to school.” The four soon got outside.

Once they got outside, Zoran turned to look at Astro and Zircon. “We’re flying to school, right?” she asks. “We’re not taking Doctor’s air car, are we?” Astro and Zircon both shook their heads. “Of course not,” said Astro. “I’ve been flying to school for the last few months. You should know that already.” “Okay,” said Zoran. “I just needed to get my memory straight.” She then walked over to Zircon and said, “Would you fly me to school, Zircon? It wouldn’t be a problem if you did, will it?” Zircon shook her head. “Not at all, Zoran,” she said. “It wouldn’t be a problem. Besides, there’s a special way I carry things without even touching them.” Zircon instantly floated in mid-air, using her jewel, and also made Zoran float in mid-air. “Wow!” yelled Zoran. “I didn’t know you could do that!” Zircon smiled, and then Astro flew into the air. “Doesn’t that take up a lot of your energy?” Doctor asked. “Not really,” said Zircon. “At this rate, when we get from school and back, it should take about one-eighth of my energy. It charges back up again in about an hour or so.” Doctor agreed with Zircon’s reply, he then smiles, and says, “Don’t forget what I told you, and I hope you and Zoran have a great first day at school!” Astro, Zircon, and Zoran all smiled. “We will!” yelled Zoran and Zircon. Soon, Astro, Zoran, and Zircon, were then on their way to get to school.

I finished Chapter 26.

Chapter 26: Zircon and Zoran go to school

There were tons of things Zoran saw while flying instantly in the air, with the help of Zircon’s jewel of course. She spotted a lot of things that she never had a chance of seeing before from above. When Astro, Zoran, and Zircon were at least half way to school, and Zoran had the chance of pointing at any type of object, building, store, or even a house, she starts saying, “Look at that building!” or, “Did you see that house we just passed?”. She keeps saying it over and over; just to get Astro and Zircon’s attention. Even they think she was getting annoying. Why? Because she keeps saying those same sentences in very few seconds or at least every five minutes. Zircon flew closer towards Astro. “So that explains why your sister is annoying,” she said. “Oh, please,” said Astro while looking at Zircon. “You should be lucky you don’t have a little sister or brother. Zoran keeps driving me nuts ever since she was first created. I mean, look at her! Especially her mouth!” Astro and Zircon turned back to look at Zoran; still pointing at everything she sees. Even though they saw her talking, Zoran still doesn’t know that they were really paying attention. “Her mouth is like a nonstop, talking machine!” said Astro. “If she keeps this up, she could probably break a record of being to world’s most talkative robot!” Without really noticing, Zoran overheard their conversation. She then starts saying, “I’ve heard that!” out loud, and Astro and Zircon started giggling. “We didn’t mean that literally, Zoran,” said Zircon. “It’s just a joke. You can handle jokes, right?” Zoran started acting like that “joke”, was really disturbing to her. She sighs, and says, “Whatever you say, Zircon. As long as it was just a joke.”

The three soon got to school, and spotted tons of things Zoran and Zircon couldn’t believe their eyes. Students were walking, talking, running around, or playing with each other once the three landed. Without the three noticing, some students turned from what they were doing, and looked at both Zoran and Zircon. Most of them were whispering to each other, saying words like, “Are those two new students?” or “Are they new here?” Zircon couldn’t help it on overhearing their conversations, until soon enough, Alejo, Kennedy, and Abercrombie ran towards her, Astro, and Zoran. “Hey, Astro!” yelled Kennedy. “I can’t believe you and Zircon made it!” Zoran felt so insulted because of Kennedy; who didn’t call her name. She started to get his attention by clearing her throat. “I believe you forgot someone,” she says. Kennedy, Alejo, and Abercrombie all looked down, and finally noticed Zoran. “Oh, hey Zoran,” Alejo said. “I didn’t know you go to school.” “Hmph,” said Zoran acting a little mad. “Well, you’ve should’ve known that if I weren’t standing here!” “Take it easy, Zoran,” said Astro. “It was just a mistake. They probably didn’t notice you.” Zoran turned around, and crossed her arms. “Hmph,” she mumbled. “Boys. Sometimes you just can’t live with them.” “Ms. Miyoki will be very surprised once she sees you, Zircon,” said Kennedy. Zircon was surprised. She seemed to be really interested in Alejo’s topic. “Really?” she asked. “Absolutely!” said Alejo. “She’s been always looking forward to seeing new students! You’re going to love this school! For the best part, she shows all of her classes holographically!” “Wow! That’s amazing!” said Zircon, smiling happily. Alejo nodded. “I know,” he said. “Isn’t she great, or what?” “I’ll say,” said Abercrombie. Astro looked at Zoran, and noticed her body was faced in the other direction. “You know, Zoran,” he said. “Mr. Yuko will also be happy to see you, too. Also, he teaches a few classes holographically.” Zoran soon got interested, and turns around. “Well, that’s fine with me,” she said smiling. “As long as the holographic part was in those sentences, I’m okay with it.”

The bell soon rang, and most of the students were heading inside the school. Once the whole group got inside, and on the right floor, Kennedy looked at Zoran to say, “Okay, Zoran, standing right in front of us, we’re now near the 5th grade classroom. Your classroom is a little down the hall on your right. Find the room with a name tag on the door saying, ‘Mr. Yuko’.” Zoran nodded with an “Okay,” and ran down the hall. Astro looked at Zircon. “Are you ready to enter Ms. Miyoki’s classroom?” he asked. Zircon looked at the classroom door, and then looked at Astro. “Whatever it takes for me to get a good education,” she said. Soon, the others laughed for a few seconds. “Come on,” said Alejo. “Let’s just get inside the classroom before we all get tardy.” The others nodded, and they all went inside.

CONTINUATION OF TIC TAC'S STORY!!!!

Okay, I'm done with chapter 27, first appearances of Crono and Kina!!!

Hope you guys enjoy it!!!

Chapter 27: New students/Tawashi response

The bell rang again, and mostly everybody sat at their desks. Zircon and her friends were still standing. Ms. Miyoki noticed Zircon, and told her to come to the front to the classroom. “Wow,” she said. “I can’t believe it; three new students in a row. I can’t imagine anything else. Anyway, class, we have another new student today. Her name is Zircon.” Every student started starting at her, especially the boys. The girls just looked and all seem to smile, but the boys, other than Zircon’s friends, just kept staring and likely started drooling. Zircon was starting to get a little too much attention from the boys, until she spotted two people in the back row of the classroom. They were both surprised to know that Zircon was a new student, but they weren’t being rude of staring at her like everyone else. “Zircon,” said Ms. Miyoki. Zircon looked at the teacher. “I’m sure enough that you’ll like being in this classroom.” “I know I will!” Zircon said smiling. Ms. Miyoki stared in the back of the classroom, and then said, “The class and I are going to the holographic room today to do a special lesson. I’m glad you came here at the right time, because this lesson today hasn’t been shown to you and the class. When we get back, you’re going to sit in the desk found in the back of the room, right next to Crono’s and Kina’s desks.” Zircon nodded an “Okay,” to Ms. Miyoki. *Crono? Kina?* she thought. *I wonder if they were also new students before me?* “Okay, class,” said Ms. Miyoki. “Let’s all head towards the holographic room.” She went out the door, and students started to get out of their desks, and head towards the door. Zircon spotted Astro, Alejo, Kennedy, and Abercrombie about to head out the door.

She managed to catch up with them from the front of the classroom. “Guys,” she said while they all walked towards the holographic room. “Who’s Crono and Kina?” “Crono and Kina?” Alejo asked. “Those two were new students last week on Friday,” said Kennedy. “Yeah, it’s weird to know that they haven’t talked to anybody since they were first new here,” said Abercrombie. “They were probably too shy.” “Don’t they have any friends?” Zircon asked. “I don’t think so,” said Astro. “I think I was friends with Crono and Kina a few weeks ago, but I’m not sure if they were friends with me.” Zircon thought for a minute. “Wait,” she said. “Can we try to get them to be friends with us?” “You want us to be friends with Crono and Kina?” Kennedy asked. “Don’t you think we have enough people in a group already?” Zircon shook her head. “Come on, guys! This friend group will never get full! Besides, adding two more people into our group won’t change anything.” “She’s right,” said Alejo. “They could use some friends to play with.” “I agree with Alejo,” said Kennedy. “Having the amount of friends in a group really doesn’t matter on our friendship. I say we should greet them and let them come into our group.” “But how?” asked Abercrombie. “There’s probably no chance of letting them come into our group during the special lesson Ms. Miyoki already planned,” said Astro. Zircon thought for a minute. “Wait,” she said. The others looked at her. “Maybe, when school is over, how about we greet them from outside?” “That’s a great idea, Zircon!” said Astro. “They should probably be free after school, so that should be our chance to greet them!” The others nodded, to agree with Astro’s answer, and they all went inside the holographic room.

Meanwhile, at the Ministry of Science, Dr. O’ shay was sitting at his desk, doing paperwork. He sighed and stopped doing paperwork. He then started looking out the window, towards the elementary school. “I hope Zoran and Zircon enjoy their first day at school,” he said. “I’m now starting to get worried that Tenma could strike at Zircon at any time.” Without notice, Inspector Tawashi broke through the door. “Dr. O’ shay!” he yelled, as he ran towards his desk. Doctor turned around from the window. *I guess Houdini finally gave Tawashi the photos,* he thought. “I’m very surprised to know that those crash site photos are very extraordinary! That crash site came from a robot, you say?” Doctor nodded. “I was able to revive it two days ago,” he said. “The robot’s name is Zircon. It was known to be the first jewel-powered robot ever created.” “Do you know how its crash site was created?” Tawashi asked. “I didn’t exactly see how Zircon developed the crash site,” Doctor said. “For my best guess, I would say it developed from the jewel on her forehead.” Tawashi was very surprised when Doctor said, “From the jewel on her forehead.” He thought about all of the jewels possible to awaken a robot, but none of them generate energy! “That’s impossible!” he said. “How is it possible that a robot can be powered by a jewel? All the jewels in the world never generate energy!” “True,” said Doctor. Tawashi was now really surprised. “There’s one specific jewel that existed millions of years ago. It may not exist today, but Zircon’s creator was able to find this jewel. It was called the Adrenaline Jewel. This jewel holds a special type of energy with huge increases of speed added. It can create powerful force fields and fire huge ounces of energy all in an instant.” “Should we destroy the jewel?” Tawashi asked. “No need to worry, Tawashi,” said Doctor. “Zircon has it all under control. She was created to keep the jewel’s power in control--” Tawashi bangs his hands onto Doctor’s desk. “I don’t care!” he yelled. “A jewel that powerful could wreck the city!” “Tawashi, please!” Doctor yelled back and stood up from his chair. “I told you as much as I can! That’s why she was created! Zircon can handle it! She and the jewel won’t do anything to destroy the city!” “I heard enough of your words, Doctor!” Tawashi yelled once more, and headed towards the door. “Why can’t you understand that robots aren’t treated like slaves to humans anymore?” Doctor asked. “It’s my job to protect the citizens of Metro City,” said Tawashi. “I’m not going to let a robot walk freely around the city, and destroy everything in its path!”

Tawashi was about to leave the room, until he turned around to walk back to Dr. O’ shay, and then grabbed him by the shirt collar. “I’ll be on a search for this robot with the army team tonight,” he said. “I need to know where Zircon is, so spill it!” “I’m not saying anything to you, Tawashi,” said Doctor. “I already told you that Zircon can handle it, and you still defy me.” Tawashi gets mad enough to stop grabbing Doctor by the collar. “If you don’t think that Zircon can handle this jewel, then good luck finding her for yourself!” Tawashi practically almost flew through the roof. “Fine!” he yells. “Have it your way! The crew and I will find her ourselves!” He enters halfway through the office door. He turns his head around and says, “You call yourself a doctor, while leaving a defenseless robot holding a powerful jewel out on the loose? Well, you can try to stop me all you want, but I’m not making any changes now. I’m not letting a robot hurt the citizens of this city!” Tawashi walked out of Doctor’s office. Doctor sighed and sat back in his chair. “Boy,” he said. “This is getting more serious. More people are starting to figure out that Zircon is acting like a monster! I’ve got to warn Zircon about this as soon as she gets out of school!”

Chapter 28: Exploring the Solar System

By the time Astro and his friends entered the holographic room, Zircon spotted Crono and Kina standing in a certain part in the center of the room. They weren’t talking to anybody else, neither each other. She felt bad for them. In order to not make them feel left out, and not spend time depressed during the special lesson, Zircon had the idea of asking them to be friends with Astro and the others instead of asking them after school. Astro and his friends weren’t watching, but Zircon ran over to Crono and Kina and tried asking them before the lesson. Astro finally notices Zircon running to Crono and Kina halfway across the room. “Zircon, what are you doing?” he asked. Zircon heard Astro, turned around, and started walking back to him and his friends. Soon enough, Alejo, Kennedy, and Abercrombie also noticed Zircon walking towards Crono and Kina. “I thought you said in the hallway we’ll ask them after school,” said Astro. “I know,” said Zircon. “I just had the idea of telling them before the lesson. I thought I had enough time, but I guess I’ll wait until the lesson is over.” Astro nodded.

Before the lesson started, Zoran and her classmates came into the holographic room. The students in Ms. Miyoki’s class started staring at the classmates in Mr. Yuko’s class. “Looks like Ms. Miyoki and Mr. Yuko both planned this special lesson,” said Alejo. “Yeah,” said Kennedy. “They must’ve been looking forward to this. I’ll bet this lesson will be the best one among the other lessons we learned.” The others nodded. Zoran walked around the room, and found Astro, Zircon, and their friends. “Astro! Zircon!” She yells happily while running towards them. “Isn’t this great? Both of our classes are in for this special lesson! It’ll be the greatest lesson among all the other ones combined! And—OH MY GOSH!” She all of a sudden paused looking in the other direction. Not only that Zoran saw Astro and his friends, she also spotted Crono and Kina! There’s been a weird bond between her and Crono; one of them is that she can’t seem to take her eyes off of him. Crono still doesn’t know about it. “Unbelievable,” she says, leaning over. “Crono is in the 5th grade already? But how?” “Smart brains,” said Alejo. “Kina helped Crono get through three grades in just a few weeks. I say, they both make a good team, don’t you think?” Zoran was really ticked off when she heard Alejo say, “Kina”. The name shot straight through her mind. *No other girl is going to get near Crono but me!* she thought. “Alright,” Her temper started rising. “I want to know all about her.” “Who?” Zircon asked. “Kina, of course!” yelled Zoran. “What is Kina doing with Crono?” “What are you talking about, Zoran?” Astro asked. “Who is Kina, and why is she with Crono?” “Oh,” mumbled Astro. “I know that temper.” Zircon started whispering to Astro. “Why is Zoran acting like this?” she says. “I know she thinks I don’t her secret, but I do,” Astro said. “You weren’t here when Crono was around with Doctor, Zoran, and me. It’s hard to figure out, but Zoran has a little crush on Crono.” Zircon smiled, and then looked at Zoran. “So that’s why she’s acting that way,” she said. “I now told you her secret,” said Astro. “So don’t spread it to anyone else other than Doctor, Crono, and Kina.” “Got it,” Zircon said while shaking her head. “Well?” asked Zoran, still mad. “I’m waiting for an answer!” Astro and Zircon turned back at Zoran. “Kina is Crono’s sister,” said Astro. “You didn’t know anything about Kina when Crono was at our house a few weeks ago. Crono’s memory wasn’t kicked in all the way.” Zoran’s jaw dropped, and she turned to look at Crono and Kina. *Kina is Crono’s sister?* she thought. *I thought—I can’t believe I made a mistake!* “Embarrassed, aren’t you?” Zircon said. Zoran turned around, with blushes on her cheeks. “Okay, you got me,” said Zoran. *I can believe I’m also embarrassed!*

Every student in both classes was now in the holographic room. Mr. Yuko and Ms. Miyoki moved to the center of the room. “Okay everyone,” said Ms. Miyoki. “If all of you stay in the middle of the room, we will begin the special lesson.” Everybody moved to the center of the room, and Mr. Yuko pulled out a holographic remote control from his pocket. “The 2nd and 5th grade classes are here for a special lesson for the last day of the school year,” he said. “To celebrate the last day, Ms. Miyoki and I have made this special lesson for everyone to enjoy.” “Everyone,” said Ms. Miyoki. “Welcome to, the world of outer space!” Mr. Yuko pressed a button on the remote control, and the whole room started filling with darkness. Stars, planets, even comets appeared throughout the room. Everybody was amazed to see what was in outer space. A lot of them have never been in space before. “To make space in this room a little more realistic,” Mr. Yuko starts. “I’ll turn on the anti-gravity system.” Mr. Yuko pressed another button on the remote control, causing everyone in the whole room to float in midair. “Look! There’s Earth!” Zoran pointed. Astro and his friends looked at where Zoran was pointing. “There she goes again,” said Astro. Zircon giggled. “Yeah,” said Alejo. “Our galaxy shows everything; especially our Solar System.” “Okay, class,” said Ms. Miyoki while looking at her watch. “We have exactly one hour to spend here until school is over. Feel free to float around the Solar System hologram to look at the planets, or talk to your friends if you’re finished.” Zircon gave out a complete sigh. “What’s wrong, Zircon?” Astro turned to ask. “Glad Mr. Yuko said there was an “Anti-Gravity System” on the remote control,” said Zircon. “Because if there wasn’t, I would have to use my telekinesis to make everybody float in the air.” “Well, at least you didn’t need to say anything about it,” said Astro. “I know,” Zircon said. “What a relief, though.” She then turned to look at Crono and Kina. They were still not saying anything to each other or anybody else in the room. She turned back. “Hey, guys,” she said. Her friends turned around to look at Zircon. “What is it, Zircon?” Kennedy asked. “Ms. Miyoki said everyone here has one hour to float about the room, or talk to your friends when you’re finished, right?” “Yeah,” said Astro. “What are you meaning?” Zircon looked back at Crono and Kina. “Well,” she said. “I think there’s a chance we could ask them to be friends with us.” The others also looked at Crono and Kina. “She’s right,” said Alejo. He and the others turn back. “I mean, we do have one hour to spare until school is over. Let’s just get this out of the way, for the sake of friends.” The others nodded. Astro, Zircon, Zoran, Alejo, Kennedy, and Abercrombie all started floating to the other side of the room, to greet Crono and Kina.

Yet, more story:

Chapter 29: School Glitches Part I

Meanwhile, Inspector Tawashi and his crew started teaming up. Tawashi searched on a computer to find out where Zircon was located. A grid search was spread out from the computer, keyword search: “jewel-powered robots”. The computer finally found Zircon, being spotted in Astro’s elementary school. “Should we hunt her down now?” One of Tawashi’s crew asked. “No,” said Tawashi. “She’s in the middle of the school hour. We should make our mark to surround her when she soon gets out of school.” Everyone nods to agree with Tawashi, and then started cheering. *You can plead all you want, Doctor,* he thought. *But no robot is going to go unsupervised wrecking the whole town.*

At Dr. Tenma’s lair, Tenma did a search through Zircon’s memory bank on his computer before Zircon blasted out of the lab two days ago. *Now,* he thought. *Let’s find out who your creator is, shall we?* He scanned through her database, and opened up tons of memory files, until he finally found Zircon’s creator. “Ah,” he said. “Here we are.” He soon spotted something that would haunt him for the rest of his life. The name surprised him throughout the entire room, and he never realized that person created Zircon! “SHADOW?” He constantly blurted out. He banged his fists onto the computer. “Unbelievable! How could he create a robot so powerful? There’s no possible way how he did this!” Tenma looked up. “You will regret this, Shadow!” He looks at his robot designs on the table beside his computer, and then took a glance at the unfinished robot. “In just a couple of days,” he says. “This robot I’m making will finally be able to help rule the world with me, and finally take care of you, Shadow! You shall not be ruler over me!” Tenma sat back at his computer, and did a grid search for Zircon. He found her located in the holographic room of Astro’s school. “This is perfect,” he said. “I can hack into the holographic system, and send her images of her creator! That way, she’ll get even more freaked then she is now!” He looks up again. “I will have revenge over you, Shadow!”

Back at school, Astro, Zoran, Zircon, and his friends finally floated to the other side of the holographic room to get to Crono and Kina. “Crono! Kina!” Astro shouted. Crono and Kina were surprised that Astro called their names. They soon turned around and smiled. “Astro? Zoran?” said Crono. “It’s really amazing to see you two here again!” “Yeah,” said Zoran. “Is that amazing, or what?” “By the way, Crono and Kina,” said Astro. “We have a new friend we’d like you to meet. Her name’s Zircon.” Zircon floated a few inches towards Crono and Kina in order to shake hands. “Nice to meet you, Zircon,” said Kina. “I’m Crono’s sister by the way; if you didn’t know.” Zircon nodded an “Okay,” to Kina to agree. After Zircon shook Kina’s hand, she shook Crono’s hand. Zoran was shocked once Zircon touched Crono’s hand, and started getting angry. *I don’t want any funny business,* she thought. *I found him first! So, if you also want him, we’re taking it outside!* “It’s an honor to meet you, Zircon,” said Crono. “And welcome to this school, even though it’s the last day of school.” Crono and Zircon stopped shaking hands. “No problem,” said Zircon, shrugging. “I can get more things done next year.” “You know, Crono,” said Astro. “Zircon crash landed on our front lawn two days ago.” “Is that so?” Crono asked. “Yeah, it’s true,” said Zircon with her head down. “I was actually looking for someone to help me.” “How’s that possible?” Astro asked. “Well,” Zircon continued. “When Dr. Tenma tried to revive me after I was found deep into the ocean, he must of realized that this jewel I have on my forehead, was some sort of fake jewel, or maybe just a decoration to make me look nice. But without notice, he just went away on using too much robot energy on me.” “How did you realize that you needed help?” Kina asked. Zircon looked at Astro, Crono, and Kina. “You see,” she started saying. “This jewel holds a different source of energy, and he probably didn’t know it. The jewel doesn’t seem to take in too much of energy from another source. It gets rid of it by causing meltdowns.” “Meltdowns?” asked Astro. “Yes,” said Zircon. “When I meant meltdowns, I meant that as in the jewel starts controlling over the entire body, and fires off huge blasts of the robot energy; also causing damages to wherever I’m at.” Zircon then notices Crono and Kina backing up. “But don’t be frightened,” she says. “As long as this jewel doesn’t come across any type of robot energy, I’ll be fine.”

Astro put a hand on Zircon’s shoulder. “She’s right,” he says. “I’ve been near Zircon tons of times, and nothing bad happened to me. Don’t be scared about that jewel on her forehead. For all who knows, it’s just how the jewel reacts.” “Well,” said Crono, “At least she told us the warnings.” He looks at Kina. “If Zircon never told us that, we would’ve stayed away from her a long time ago.” “Anyway,” Zircon continues. A flashback started up. “On my way on trying to find somebody to help me, I started to feel queasy. The energy Dr. Tenma gave me still being forced out of the jewel, and it took up a lot of power. I was just about out of energy when I spotted Astro’s house. It was pretty late that night, but it was the only chance of getting help from there. I soon landed on the front lawn, but I felt too weak, I couldn’t move. In my mind, I wished that somebody in that house was hoping to help me until I shut down.” The flashback ended. “At the time that Dr. O’ shay revived me, at least I was able to tell out a story about what happened when he and I got home.” Kina floated over to Zircon, and put a hand on her back. “I feel sorry for you,” she says. “You must me having a rough day.” Zircon looked at Kina. “Tell me about it,” she said. “My whole life is still changing since I saw Dr. Tenma for the first time. He’s planning to take over Metro City with this jewel on my forehead.” “What type of jewel is that?” Crono asked. “It’s an Adrenaline Jewel,” said Zircon. “Dr. Tenma is after it because it holds mysterious powers. He probably realized it after I blasted out of the lab two days ago.” Kennedy butts in. “Dr. Tenma always cares to ruin everything for other robots like he did to Astro a few months ago. He’s now doing it to make things hard for Zircon! We can’t let him do this!” “But how?”

Alejo asks also butting in. “We don’t know where he is, nor his hideout, or where he’s going to strike next.” “I’ll bet he’ll strike here,” said Astro. “In the middle of the school hour?” Zoran asks. “What makes you think that Dr. Tenma will strike now?” “We don’t know yet,” said Astro. “We now all know that he’ll do anything for that jewel, so we all have to be alert for him.” “Astro’s right about this,” said Kennedy. “We’re not going to let Dr. Tenma or anybody else let this problem go out of hand! We all need to work together and hope that this problem would end!” He puts his hand in the middle of the circle, and shouts, “For Zircon!” Alejo agrees, and puts his hand in. “Yeah, let’s end this!” shouted Abercrombie, as he puts a hand in. “We’ll take them out no matter how long it takes!” Crono shouted. “Eight is better then one, Dr. Tenma!” Kina shouts and also joins in. “We’ll take them out one by one!” shouts Zoran. “You and I will soon meet again, and we’ll fight to the end, Dr. Tenma!” Astro shouts out. They all took their hands out, and started cheering. Zircon was amazed that all of her friends were glad to help her out with her problem. “Thanks, guys,” she says. “I’m really glad you’re doing this for me.” “It’s nothing, really,” said Astro, looking at Zircon. “One most important rule of friendship is to never let their friends down, or get them caught in a jam whenever they’re in trouble or in a tight spot.” Crono floats in front of Zircon. “We’ll be sure to never let you down, Zircon,” he said. “With all of us helping, we’ll be unstoppable and defeat Dr. Tenma in no time flat!” “Thanks a lot for that speech, Crono,” said Zircon. She then looks at everyone else. “I sure hope this problem would end a lot faster with all of you helping.” “No problem, Zircon,” said Astro. “We’ll all be ready for him the next time he strikes.”

From Dr. Tenma’s lair, he pressed a certain button that seemed to have sent a holographic message to Astro’s school. Suddenly, the whole room started shaking. Everyone started to worry. “What’s going on?” Ms. Miyoki asked. The control Mr. Yuko was holding started to short out. Sparks and shocks were spitting out of it; causing Mr. Yuko to drop and break the control. The room’s visual images started fading away, and the anti-gravity system was automatically turned off; causing everyone to fall to the floor in mid-air. Mr. Yuko looked around the room. “The system is shutting down!” he yells. “Something else must be trying to hack into the system!” Astro looks at all the projectors. “Look!” he yells and then points. “Another picture is showing up!” Everyone looks at the image form on the projectors. “What is it?” Zoran asks. The whole room soon started filling with evil laughs. *Wait,* Zircon thought. *I know that laugh!* The image finally formed. Everyone gasped when they all saw the image. “Glad to see you again, Zircon,” The image calls out. Zircon and her friends all shout out, “Dr. Tenma!”

UC Irvine exhibit focuses on Japan’s comic culture

The University of California-Irvine (UCI) is displaying a selection of materials from its holdings of Japanese comic series in its book exhibit, “Champions of Comic Culture in Japan,” which runs through the end of February. UCI’s East Asian Collection includes complete runs of Shonen Magajin (Youth Magazine), one of Japan’s most popular comic magazines, and a series featuring the character Tetsuwan Atomu (Astro Boy), which became an icon of the comic world. The exhibit is made up of materials from the two titles. The library’s holdings of these runs are unique among library collections in the United States. Comic readership claims about 40 percent of the annual output of all Japanese publishers today.

Astroboy GA-62 Chogokin

GA-62 Popy Astroboy Robot Toy

Astroboy Robot from Japan

Have you ever traced the heritage of Super-Robots back to the roots of the movement? Tetsujin 28 is said to have started the anime movement along with another, arguably more popular character, Astroboy. ‘Tetsuwan Atom’, a.k.a. Astroboy began the "Big eyes, small mouth" anime tradition. He made his first appearance in 1951 and soon became ‘Astro Boy’ and made the artist Osamu Tezuka famous. Tezuka continued to create every single Astro Boy comic story for 21 years in Japan.

In the 1960's Astro Boy was animated and shown on Fuji television in black and white. One-hundred and ninety three episodes were produced. The broadcast ended in 1966.

Here is a quick Astroboy Robot synopsis:

In 2000 A.D. after the loss of his beloved son Toby in a car accident, Dr. Boyton built an android in his image. Dr. Boynton soon realized that this android, Astroboy, would not grow up to become a man; so he gave Astroboy to a circus.

In the circus, Astro met Kathy who gave him the name Astroboy.

Astro was designed with super powers such as the ability to fly, shoot powerful light beam emitters from his eyes which serve as a searchlight, heightened hearing, a machine gun on his hips, strength of 100,000 horsepower, and a powerful laser from his finger.

The circus ringleader made robots fight each other. The robots complained because of the foul treatment they received from the ringmaster. Dr. Elefun, pointed out these complaints and the Robots' Bill of Rights was drafted.

With these new rights, Astro was freed from the circus and Dr. Elefun took him to the Institute of Science. Dr. Elefun made parents for Astroboy to live with. Toby's dog Jump also lived with him. Dr. Elefun also created Astrogirl, otherwise known as Uran, as a gift for Astroboy.

Sony is now producing the computer animated Astro Boy feature film, which is slated for a 2005 release

Below are Pictures of Popy's Mekisu series Tetsuwan Atom, Astroboy. Keep in mind that he is primitive but the predecessor to modern super-robots. Mickey Mouse proportions can bee seen with the big head, small mouth, and large eyes. Just like a baby, the design demanded instant adoration.

Kids could turn a knob on the back this Popy toy and get a TV like change in characters . Inside his chest a wheel rotates to show different comic characters. Some of the characters include his cartoon creator Doctor Boyton, sister Uran, and Mum.

Both fists are spring loaded and can be changed with the red removable legs. Instructions, catalog, and base came with the toy. The spring mounted head for Astroboy resembles a bobble head doll and is a plastic with almost pliable vinyl qualities.
