Guest champchavez Report post Posted December 30, 2003 Obviously the WWE tag division is a complete mess. With very few real combos on both sides, and the titles at least on the Raw side devalued past anybody caring (thank: La Resistance vs. the Duds for that, and give Lance and Regal credit-for the incredibly boring terrible matches they had too!). I honestly believe they could turn the division around with four things (of course I am looking past Gerwitz and Steph and Vince and whoever else is responsible for the atrocious booking): 1. More Tag moves (esp. finishers)-What happened to the tag finisher. Good tag team finishers! And it's always good for chemistry if the teams have at least one or two double team moves. 2. Stop using the overused Tag formula-I'd love to see the hot tag formula abolished, but I could live with them just not using it all the time. 3. Give the division more than one feud. There should be realistically three or four tag feuds. This would be a great way to give some guys some meaning. 4. Characters with drive or meaning(not just for the tag division). What the fuck are Jindrak and Cade doing in the WWE, why do I care? I don't hate these two. These two have potential, but you give them no strong offensive moves, and no reason to be here, and they mean nothing. Why not hook Arn Anderson with one of these teams. Here are some teams I'm suggesting: Raw: Val Venis and Test-call me crazy but I've always thought this team could work. Val is the technician here. But Val isn't strong enough on his own, nor is Test. Scott Steiner and Rico-blatantly rip off the Buff Bagwell gimmick for Rico, and have him wrestle the majority of their matches. Christian and Chris Nowinksi-neither are strong enough on there own, but together they could be dynamite. Christian is a tag wrestler, I love him, but the way he's booked he's too bland, and they've certainly given him enough of a chance. Stevie Richards and Tommy Dreamer-turn Steven back into Stevie (a bWo like gimmick) and let these two be extremists. Have them feud with a heel Dudley team in a series of no DQ stip matches. Why not throw Spike and Al Snow in the mix too! Rene Dupree and Rob Conway-give them a better finisher, and drop the french gimmick. let it be more subtle. Dupree is the arogant frenchman, and Conway is a prick. No flag waving Volkoffs. D-Von and Bubba-let them be asshole heels. They don't have to use flaming tables or profanity, just let them be dicks. No more Lance Storm tag teams. Let Lance Storm have a Kurt Angle like push-he is that good! Good on his own! Let Regal manage him, but don't let Regal wrestle anymore. Smackdown: Spanky and Paul London-let them be the new Hardys, but way f''king better! Mysterio and Kidman-Why are these guys not regularily a team. I like Rey in singles, but Kidman is better off in a team. Team Tajiri-why have these guys not gone on a tear! I know-I know Cruiserweights! What do you think? ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2003 While it was around, I liked the Funaki/Ultimo Dragon team. But Funaki will never be taken seriously, and people here would complain about misuse of Ultimo anyway. For some reason, I'd like to see Shannon Moore and A-Train become a tag team. Along the lines of the old Diesel and Shawn Michaels team...Shannon Moore can be the quick striking lightweight, and A-Train the hard hitting heavyweight. Story for their formation could be that A-Train feels sorry for the abuse Heyman's putting Moore through, and respects Moore for getting the win over him...so he helps Moore out, and they become friends in a way. And just to give the former something to do...Kanyon and Orlando Jordan
EdwardKnoxII 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2003 And just to give the former something to do...Kanyon and Orlando Jordan Yeah and the storyline could be that Kanyon is tired of Jordan always beating his ass and to stop it Kanyon admits that Jordan is better then Kanyon and then they team up. Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2003 Kanyon & Jordan? Blah. Team up Kanyon & O'Haire. Nothing against Danny Basham, but I'd think Kanyon & Doug Basham would make a great team. While we're on the subject of The Bashams, they're good workers, but there's too much focus on Shaniqua. Take the focus off her, and get The Bashams in a decent feud, and they'll be fine. I'm an FBI mark, but Stamboli & Palumbo can work a good tag match. They had a really fun match against Spanky/London on Velocity. Other than The Bashams, there's really no other heel team on SD, so plug the FBI in as the #2 heel team.

Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2003 Oh, snap! OK, plug in the FBI as #3 on the heel team side. To be fair, it's almost as if the WWE forgot about them, too.
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2003 Now...I posted this in another thread before but it got ignored... If the Brand Extension were not in effect, and we had one set of tag team titles, the teams we currently have, plus the ones mentioned here...would people bitch as much as they do now about the Tag Division? Including some of the suggestions we made here...a 1 company Tag Division would consist of: Dudley Boyz Scotty and Rikishi The Hurri-League Cade and Jindrak Basham Brothers World's Greatest Tag Team FBI Team Tajiri La Res Dreamer and Stevie (Currently) Venis and Storm Spanky and London Moore and A-Train And many others. One problem I do see is, well, GOOD TEAM NAMES!
Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2003 That's too many teams. How would you be able to get all those teams TV time? Plus, w/ no brand extension, roughly half those teams wouldn't even be on the roster (or even employed by the WWE).
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2003 That's too many teams. Eh, I'm just reminded of the Late 80's WWF Tag Division. You had: British Bulldogs Hart Foundation Dream Team Rockers Rougeau Bros. Demolition Twin Towers Brain Busters Strike Force Honky Tonk Man and Greg Valentine Bushwackers Boshleviks A little later Colossal Connection... ...see? I'll give Test one thing good for him that even you can't disagree with: He's better than Orton. Is he? Yes...he can do more than 5 moves like Orton, doesn't trip over his words...and gets more boos than Orton does. Plus, I enjoyed his match against Guerrero at WrestleMania X-7 for some reason.
