I just found the card for the January 10th New England Championship Wrestling show thanks to a flyer my dad found. As with any wrestling card, it's subject to change, but here's what to look forward to.

 

El Boriqua vs. Johnny Idol

 

Zaqary Springate III vs. Mike Bennett

(Zaqary isn't a great worker, but he's only a rookie, and he has GREAT charisma and a knowledge of how to make the crowd hate him)

 

Bob Evans vs. Dr. Heresy

DR. FUCKIN' HERESY!!! This is the first I've even HEARD of Heresy since Primal Conflict Wrestling back in '01.

 

Frankie A/Pain vs. The French Connection

 

NECW Tag Team Championship

Sabotage {c} (Eddie Edwards/DC Dillinger) vs. Adrenaline (Chris Venom/Brian Fury)

 

NECW Heavyweight Championship - Special Intergender Match

Maverick Wild {c} vs. Mercedes Martinez

 

None of the workers are exceptionally good, but the overall atmosphere is awesome. For you Masshole cats, I'd suggest checking 'em out live. Tickets are only $15, and you'll walk away feeling like you did when you first started watching wrestling as a kid.

From what I've heard, Maverick Wild is pretty damn good, and for a girl, so is Mercedes Martinez.

 

And I've heard good things about Dr. Heresy.

Maverick's offense sucks, but the guy is a GREAT seller. At the last show I went to, Maverick Wild took on Bob Evans in the main, and Bob worked over Maverick's left arm the whole match. Armbars, hitting it on the post, bell-shot (yes, to the ARM), whatever. That arm was DEAD even during Maverick's post-match celebration.

 

And Mercedes is who my girlfriend wants to be like. That chick is the reason she (my girlfriend, that is) ever remotely began to like wrestling in the first place.

Brutal Bob Evans is the worst. I'd just like to clarify that.

He's decent, but nothing special. The worst is probably Alex Arion, and he's thankfully not on the card.
