Guest Steve J. Rogers Posted April 12, 2002 Report Posted April 12, 2002 Just wanted to add another sign of how one league will go to great lenghts to just pretend that another just never existed: The Nets won their 50th game of the year the other night and won their first NBA Atlantic Divison championship in 26 years ofn being in the NBA. Now, when reporting on this story on ESPN and other places it was "The Net Franchise's FIRST 50 win season and divison championship" totally choosing to ignore their ABA run which includes about 4 50 win years and a number of divison titles and championships (there are still those to this DAY that even feel that had Julius Erving not had been delt that Net team would have made a run at the NBA championship their first year in the league) Which shows how little regard the NBA and the national media has for the old ABA. Just reminded me about the whole WWF/WCW angle where WCW's history has been pretty much wiped out in a very 1984 way. Like the ABA, its like WCW never exisited Steve
