Guest Anglesault Report post Posted January 2, 2004 It seems that they are hinting at Angle/Eddy at Mania. The match will be good, that's not an issue. And as of right now (You know, since there's no decent issue or anything) the feud will be AWFUL. Just take a look at both men's last major feuds. Big Show and Cena. One was bad comedy, the other was awful comedy. So basically, we're looking at three months of bad comedy ending in a very early match on the card that will be fogotten by the Main Event. WM XIX showed better than any other year that you can build major matches without the world title (Jericho/Shawn, for example) but they have to have an interesting issue that the fans can get behind and at the very least a longish build (WITHOUT COMEDY) with interesting twists. If they have to do Angle/Eddy, what issue can they do (ignoring whatever they did yesterday) that has to start like right away and seem more important than the regular feud? We get Kurt Angle whom does this whole "You are completly selfish" promo against Eddy in the locker room... Remember that Cole said at the end "Eddy is a family man"... I didn't see ANY comedy in tonight's segments other then Chavo's shitty acting on his promo. Here is where they go with this...Keep Angle doing these small verbal ego bruising shots at Eddy "You are selfish" and stuff like that with no comedy edge, just Kurt thinking he's being the inspirational person he is (that he is the one who is truly selfish)...and let him say things like "I wasGold Medalist, 4 Time WWE Champion" but not in a bragging sense but as if he doesn't even realize he's saying it.. Eddy will continue to attempt to reconcile with Chavo for the good of the famila, Chavo is hesitant...Kurt meets Chavo backstage and has a "talk" with Chavo. The next week Eddy tells Chavo he got a title shot for him and Chavo at the Rumble against the Basham Brothers...but Chavo doesn't seem to excited and is rather ho-hum. Chavo: That's Great Eddy. Once again Uncle Eddy is the hero. Always doing everything for the family or what eddy wants...Never what Chavo wants. Chavo can NEVER have the spotlight eh vato. Eddy: What you mean Ese? You and I, it's been our goal to be champs again for Grandma and for the rest of the famila... Chavo: No, Eddy. It hasn't. I just always went along with the charade because I didn't want to upset anyone. So I just hid in your damn shadows, with those fans chanting EDDY! EDDY! all night, while I busted my ass just as much as you did. You know, even at my highest point, The focus was still about Eddy...I'd win a title but it didn't matter because all others back wanted to know what Eddy did. Eddy: That's Not true. Holmes. Chavo: No, Eddy. It is. When you went through your battles and your injuries...I did everything within myself to perserve the Guerrero Name...and you came back and stole it away from me. Just when I was about to get the attention...You came and took it away. So, Eddy, You can take those title matches and all the promises and the loriders you want...and stick them up your ass. I'm done with you, I'm Chavo's time. Eddy: Think about what you are doing Ese... Chavo: Kurt was right...You ARE selfish. The next week, Eddy(angry) confronts Kurt backstage Eddy: Hey, Kurt! You son of a bitch! Huh? What the hell did you say to Chavo! Kurt:(calm and confused) What? I just told him to do what he felt he had to do. I didn't know that was telling you stick the title shot up your ass. Don't blame me, He finally saw the light I guess you can say. Eddy: I hate you ese! Kurt: There we go again "I" "I" I"...it's all about freaking "I" with you isn't it? What about "CHAVO" "CHAVO" "CHAVO"...I'm telling you Eddy, Look into that mirror. The week before the Rumble...Chavo offically enters as does Eddy. Eddy with Grandma Guerrero attempts get things righted...Chavo Hugs grandma but slaps Eddy to the ground and grandma is horrified... Granny Guerrero: Oh, What's wrong with that boy Eddy? Eddy: I don't know grandma...Someone messed with his head or something...He's gone loco... The Rumble... Pre-Match Promos Eddy: Tonight, I get a chance to fulfill a dream and that's for a shot at the title at Mania. There's nothing I won't do to get that shot Chavo: Tonight, Is the night of Chavo G. That's right. I've decided no longer will I be forced to hide behind the family name and simply be Known as Chavo G. I'm going to show Granny and the rest of my former famila who the REAL superstar of the famila is. ME! Not That selfish son of bitch that I used to call my Uncle! Kurt: Whoo! Tonight, Your Olympic Hero is going to win the freaking royal Rumble for not myself like some selfish people but the troops and my family back home. I've won the gold medal and the WWE Titles, King of the Ring, and god knows what else but NEVER have I won the rumble but tonight...well It's time. WHOO! Eddy Draws #6 and lasts long enough for Kurt Angle #24 to enter and goes all over him. Eddy gets a burst of adrenline at the sight of Angle. Angle eventully evades Guerrero. A few minutes later at #27...Chavo Guerrero with revamped music and look (no more guerrero pants but a siglet ala Angle's). Eddy calmly walks over to Chavo and they staredown...Chavo throws the first punch and Angle cheers him on...Eddy and Chavo brawl around the ring. A few minutes later, Chavo attempts a press slam but Eddy catches him and rolls him over the ropes...Chavo protests and shakes his head and extends his hand for "forgiveness"...Eddy is hesitant...finally he shakes his hand but Chavo pulls and Kurt comes up and shoves him out. Kurt still fails to win. Chavo cuts a promo DEMANDING Eddy to fight him at No Way Out. Eddy says in a interview that he won't fight Chavo. He made a promise to his grandmother that they wouldn't come to that. Chavo continues to mock the guerrero legancy to the point eddy snaps and attacks Chavo. Eddy: You want a fight ese? You want to spit on your famila's name? Fine! You got it Chavito! at No Way out, I'm not Eddy Guerrero, you uncle...I'm Eddy Guerrero, Latino Heat and Ese...I'm gonna show you why I'm the "superstar" of this family because you aren't as good as me ese and I tried to help you and protect you but you wouldn't let me. Kurt meanwhile continues his cocky self and observes the Eddy/Chavo confrontation. He offers to team with Chavo against Eddy next week...Chavo accepts. Eddy, in need of a partner picks lifelong friend Mysterio. They have a fun great 15 minute match with Angle cheating to give Chavo the pin on Uncle Eddy. They lay out Mysterio quickly and beat down on Eddy and bust him up. The week before N.W.O, kurt whom is involved in a four way dance with Benoit, Cena and TBS seems more concerned about The Guerrero Family Feud then his match. Eddy Comes out and chews up Angle for being so involved with His family affairs. Angle admits that perhaps he's been too concerned with Chavo but he feels he has to be because Chavo had a HORRIBLE role model in his Uncle Eddy. He says Chavo came to him in a time of need, while Eddy was off winning the U.S Title and cheating to win without Chavo. Chavo called him and Kurt was MORE then willing to help Chavo out... Eddy says that he didn't mean to neglect Chavo...that he just wanted to fulfill some dreams but Angle throws down the selfish line again and eddy SNAPS! Eddy: Selfish? Me? You calling me selfish you arrogant prick! Hey Ese, I might not be a gold medalist or former wwe champion but I'm not selfish, I've sacrifced for my famila, for all of them, my brothers, cousins, father and yes, even that ingrate nephew of mine Chavo! Don't tell me about Selfish you son of a bitch. They attack until Chavo lays out Eddy and walks out with Kurt. N.W.O. Granny Guerrero and other Guerrero family members are in the front row...They have a 20 minute gem with Chavo controlling the injuried Ribs of eddy's. Eddy makes the comeback. Angle, whom dispite having a important match that night is in Chavo's corner...Mysterio decided to even the odds...Eddy gets the comeback juice and goes for the Frog Splash but angle tries to thwart it but Mysterio makes the save and Eddy jumps but Chavo clocks Eddy with the bell that Angle threw in eariler...Chavo goes for the cover but changes his mind and climbs the ropes...goes for the Frog Splash but misses and Eddy crawls over for a three count win. Angle is pissed and attacks Chavo... Angle: You idiot! You failed! You stupid no good Guerrero! Eddy saves his Nephew...and they embrace as Granny Guerrero cries in joy. The Next show, Chavo is seen in a Sling because of a injury caused by the hands of Angle's post match attack. Eddy issues a challenge "You can attack me, verbally and physically all you wish Angle, but I won't stand for you to play mind games with Chavo and drive a wedge through the guerrero famila and then to turn on Chavo like you did. You showed that you are the real selfish one. Not Me. Ese. So, I thought about it, The Guerrero Famila is one of the greatest in the world, right there with the Harts and the Hennings and the Funks...and There's no question that The Guerreros will be represented at The biggest show in the history of our sport that my famila love so much. Sadly, Chavo won't be able to compete at WM because of you Kurt...But I can. I'll make it sweet and simple, Angle. Me and you at Mania! Have some balls ese!" Kurt replies next week "I'm a freaking gold medalist and 5 time WWE Champion...and Why would I wrestle that grease rat on the biggest night of this sport? Because he's something else, one of the very few wrestlers I'd say that can actually hang with your Olympic Hero in the ring. So Yes I'll accept you challenge Guerrero, So I can break your arm like I did Chavo's. They build up The Guerrero legancy and Kurt's Short yet amazing career and his accomplishments... Which is why I say they should go at J-Day. Another thing, if they do it, they HAVE to let Eddy drop the accent a little or totally. The angle concept that you summarized was very well put together and I would love to see things play out that way. We'd be getting an updated version of their 1998 WCW feud, except it'd be far more serious and more beneficial to Chavo. That would culminate in a really good, emotionally charged Eddie vs. Chavo match that would elevate Chavo without Eddie having to be beaten by him. Finally, we'd get Eddie vs. Angle at WrestleMania which would be a dream match and would be practically guaranteed to go **** with the potential for 5. Since Kurt's come back and seems to be set for a heel turn of some sort don't you think he'd want his boys back in the fold? I'm sure they have SOMETHING to do with this, though I'm hazy on what at this point. Here's what we have: this tenuous Eddie/Chavo/Angle stuff continues until they have a match at WM. Some of the greatest matches were made simply because "They don't like eachother"... No Soap Opera is needed. Obviously there is bad blood between Angle and Eddy from the SD Six days and it's very easy for us to assume that while Chavo was out, Eddy neglected him in his conquest for the U.S Title and so Chavo, feeling betrayed called someone who knows the agony of being on the sidelines while others take the spotlight (Kurt)...Kurt initally sympathized with Chavo and they found a friendship. After hearing Chavo complain about Uncle Eddy for so long, he decides to do something about it and "show" Chavo the way to escape the shadows. It's Basically Angle playing Jim Neidhart here(the one who has the real problem with Eddy but convinces Eddy's nephew to take the agresssion and decided he would get vengence by tearing apart eddy's family, which is what he loves more then anything) This also paints a layer to Angle as a egotistical hypocritical person whom claims to love his family but has no problem tearing another one apart. Infact, he has systematically taken out all the people who did not call him during that time period - off camera, of course - and now Eddie is the only one left. It began with Team Angle, it ends with Eddie. Infact, Kurt took out Edge last year at NWO even before getting hurt, simply because he knew that it was just a matter of time before his body gave out and he knew Edge wouldn't bother calling. When was the last time the copied the Savage/Flair angle? We haven't had a "I fucked your girl before she was yours" angle in years. Kurt is jealous of Eddie and Chavo being the only fighting family in the WWE (Bashams who?), and every time he sees Eddie and Chavo together it reminds him of himself and Eric. So he wants to break them up so the pain will stop... You see, Kurt is ~insane~ OOOOOOR Kurt has a new gimmick, he's the "bad feud breaker-upper", where he goes around and tries to stop bad feuds from happening, or -in this case- trying to speed up the pace so that they'd end quicker.
