Good sites for history of politics, conflicts

[Your Paragon of Virtue]

Being born in 1986, I have neither:

 

a) lived through much history and

 

b) lived long enough to take an in-depth course at the university level and such.

 

My question to you guys is, what sites are there that are relatively educational and offer a lot of information on how the economy was in the past, wars, various conflicts, famous cases, etc. Just something to help me form a more intelligent view on such things, as I only have basic knowledge of any sort of history since the American constitution. This may seem like a broad question, but I didn't know how else to put it.
