Genesis game boxes.

Recommended Posts

I've been stocking up on old Genesis game boxes that used places around here were just going to throw away. If anyone's interested, reply or PM me, I'll let you know what I've got, and if interesting you can make me an offer.

Some of them I've kept to go with my cart-only used games, but a lot of them are for games I don't have and don't plan on getting.

You have the sonic and knuckles box?

I kinda did, but the inner part was so beat up I couldn't hang onto it, so I modified it to fit into a regular casing. No manual.

I have the manuals for a lot of the boxes as well, BTW.

I was the one interested. If you have the regular casing and manuals (or if you don't, just the case) for these games:

Street Fighter II SCE

Cool Spot

Mega Bomberman

Beyond Oasis

Light Crusader

Sonic and Knuckles (the one you have sounds fine)

How much do you want?

No X-Men 2, just the original X-Men box with instructions.

I have the SFII SCE, but same deal with the Sonic and Knuckles box--the inner boxes were both beaten up pretty badly.

Sega really should not have went from those awesome clamshell cases to crappy cardboard..that was a horrible decision.

Indeed. At least the SNES boxes were somewhat durable, because those inner cardbard SNES cases could stand up to a good bit of pressure.

The Sega boxes? *Squish*

Also, the manuals for those were all Xerox-looking jobs. No color and cheap paper.

DH: For you and those wanting boxes, I'll hold off on the full list until Tuesday--I may get more then.

I'll basically just like whatever amount it costs shipping and maybe a buck or so extra. Paypal would be best since its free.

The Bad Guy: I have the cases/instructions for Bloodlines, but it's the paper box. I haven't modified it yet though.

Lion King- I have it in both paper and plastic, with the instructions for both.

NBA Jam Tournament Edition- 32x and Genesis versions both. Shockingly, Acclaim stuck to using the plastic boxes all the way to the bitter end.

Sonic The Hedgehog- I have the Sega Classics box and instructions. Looks cooler IMO.

Streets of Rage 2- Got it, but with the game too, so I wanna keep it.

WWF Royal Rumble- Got it. I got the game too, but I'll be willing to part with the box and instructions as well.

BTW, for the Sonic and Knuckles case, I modified an EA game box but clipping off some of the inner plastic--so the bastich ACTUALLY FITS IN THE BOX! I knew those EA boxes had to be good for something. (I got a good number of EA boxes, which won't be as useful as the rest)

That's cool, although it would save you money if you signed up for PayPal. I use it all the time for my Ebay auctions.

(Yo, check my feedback.)

Also, I didn't find any boxes yesterday, although I finally managed to score a Gamecube with the Zelda collection disc. I will be going out again on the 14th, though, so I'll bump this topic and/or IM you after then.

I don't use PayPal because I've heard of some horrible things about it from some customers. Though it's likely they are the extremely vocal minority, I'd rather not take my chances with it.

Do you have Cyborg Justice?

Yup, but I already had that because it came with the game. As you might imagine, it's much more essential to enjoying the game than most others. Too much crammed into too few buttons.

Dunno if I want to part with it...

I may also need boxes for Vectorman 1 and 2, and the regular NBA Jam.

Don't have them, at least not yet. However, I'll get back to ya after the 14th and we shall see.

Oh, never really have had a problem with PayPal. However, when I buy more expensive stuff I get the guarantee just in case. Do that by entering the Paypal site and then sending the money, as opposed to clicking any buttons on other sites.

*Bump*. Okay. DH, I'll put the stuff you have dibs on first, and the additional stuff after that. If you want any more lemme know.

DH's stuff:

Lion King (plastic case, w/ instructions)

NBA Jam Tournament Edition (instructions)

Sonic The Hedgehog (Classics) (instructions)

WWF Royal Rumble (instructions)

Sonic and Knuckles

Vectorman (instructions)

Aladdin

Now, the other boxes I got...

Lion King: (DH is getting the plastic, this would be the paper one, has instructions)

Jungle Strike (paper box)

Desert Strike

Primal Rage

NBA Jam TE 32X

NHL 95

PGA Tour Golf III

Dashin' Desperadoes

Fun n' Games

The Jungle Book (paper box)

Arcade Classics

Battletech

Zombies Ate My Neighbors

Theme Park

X-Men

Sonic Spinball

Road Rash II

F22 Interceptor

Sonic 3

I also have the manuals/paper inserts for Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, NHL 96, ESPN National Hockey Night. I have the paper insert for Sonic 2, as well.

Most of them have the manuals, but if you want to know if it does, ask.

Also, there are some games I have with cases and manuals that I'm interested in selling--not just the cases, though.

They are:

Mortal Kombat

NHL 96

Sonic 3

Batman Returns

MKII

College Slam

DH: Reply if there's anything else you want, or IM to discuss cost and stuff.

I could have sworn that was in a plastic box, too.

Eh, well, at any rate, Wrestlemania the Arcade Game, WWF Raw, and NBA Jam T.E. were in plastic boxes on 32X for certain.

I know the WWE games and JAM were plastic, but MK II really is paper. I've got it right here.

"Rip into the REAL arcade action that 32 megs of high speed 32 bit processing can deliever" OH YEAH~!

Too bad it sucks.

Even with "32 bit" technology, and the fact that everyone by that point that played fighters should have had 6-button pads, you STILL can't pause the game during gameplay either.

I still don't get that...even the SNES version was only pauseable during the battle plan.

On Genesis MK and MK II and 32X MK II you don't need to pause it on the battle plan, you can just let it sit forever.

Not being able to pause in gameplay always bugged me though. In SNES MK3/UMK3 there's a code to enable pausing. WTF? A CODE to enable pausing? What kind of code is that?

You can pause the Master System MK1 though!!!!!!
