Guest cobainwasmurdered Posted April 12, 2002 Report Posted April 12, 2002 After Smackdown it looks like Maven And Al are being booked into a feud with billy&Chuck. Is it a good idea for the duo to unseat the current champs or should they be used as fodder?
Guest Posted April 12, 2002 Report Posted April 12, 2002 Fodder baby. Speaking of poor ol Al...The Wolverine and the Xmen comment was great.
Guest alfdogg Posted April 12, 2002 Report Posted April 12, 2002 I'd take just about anyone over Billy & Chuck
Guest cobainwasmurdered Posted April 12, 2002 Report Posted April 12, 2002 is there any other tag teams on the smackdown roster?
Guest Posted April 12, 2002 Report Posted April 12, 2002 HERE'S an idea for a topic... WHAT TO DO WITH THE TAG BELTS? a) leave it as a SD-only division? b) allow them to cross-over like the world champ and woman champ? c) create a new RAW-only tag title (yikes!)? Current/potential teams (based on last few weeks + house show reports/rumors): RAW Hardyz Perfect & Stasiak Richards & Credible SmackDown! Billy & Chuck Snow & Maven Hugh & Chavo Random thoughts: One of the Island Boyz is hurt... you can always team up Godfather & Reverend D-Von, Scotty & Rikishi, or a couple of the Canadians... OR TRADE TEST OR STORM TO RAW so they can team up with either Booker or Credible and form a legit threat. Ugh....
Guest Posted April 12, 2002 Report Posted April 12, 2002 Billy and Chuck are just now picking up steam. I don't want to see Al Snow and Maven win them. I would like to see Billy and Chuck hold them until they build up another tag team to compete with them.
Guest El Satanico Posted April 12, 2002 Report Posted April 12, 2002 I'm expecting to get a Eyebrows vs. Sideburns gimmick match from this feud. Billychuck should keep the belts because like them or not they can be built up as a good heel team...just give them time. Time is what the whole tag division needs...it can't be rebuilt overnight. Keeping them on one team for a while is best way at doing it. And unless they are going to make Storm and Jericho a team again Billychuck is the best tag team to have the belts at this time.
Guest Cataclysm911 Posted April 12, 2002 Report Posted April 12, 2002 I don't really think that Chuck & Billy are bad as tag champs. At least they are entertaining. Maven, however, disgusts me. Anything that has to do w/ him winning, I'm against. He should be in OVW or somewhere else actually attempting to improve.
Guest Mystery Eskimo Posted April 12, 2002 Report Posted April 12, 2002 I don't really like BillyChucky, but they should keep the belts on them and build up their heat until the writers can find a half-decent team to beat them. Snow/Maven ain't even close.
Guest Posted April 12, 2002 Report Posted April 12, 2002 Don't forget, RAW also has Tommy Dreamer and Raven.
Guest nWoScorpion Posted April 12, 2002 Report Posted April 12, 2002 Raven i think is more like Tazz now. 90% commentating, 10% wrestling.
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted April 12, 2002 Report Posted April 12, 2002 With Tough Enough 2 in full swing, I do see Snow and Maven winning the belts. And right after TE2 ends, look for them to lose the belts and vanish from tv.
Guest Singular Posted April 12, 2002 Report Posted April 12, 2002 I raed on pwtorch.com (I think) that the WWF was going to pair Hugh Morris and Perry Saturn as a kind of remake of the Eliminators. Since Saturn is out for a couple of months it looks like Chavo Jr. has stepped. I was kind of looking forward to the duo of Morris and Saturn for some reason. I am a huge Saturn fan, but not really big on Morris. Could have been good, or it could have been crap. Oh well.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted April 12, 2002 Report Posted April 12, 2002 With Tough Enough 2 in full swing, I do see Snow and Maven winning the belts. And right after TE2 ends, look for them to lose the belts and vanish from tv That would be pretty lame, using the tag belts to hype TE2. Keep the belts on C&B.
Guest El Satanico Posted April 12, 2002 Report Posted April 12, 2002 They aren't going to give Snow & Maven tag titles to help te2. If Maven being on tv actually winning matches and the hardcore belt didn't help it out enough then this won't make it any better.
Guest dreamer420 Posted April 12, 2002 Report Posted April 12, 2002 I was thinking about them winning the tag titles last night and I am still praying to god that it doesn't happen. Al Snow and Maven would make the worst tag champs of all time because Maven still sucks ass, and Al Snow would make a better hardcore or europeon champion.
Guest Brian Posted April 12, 2002 Report Posted April 12, 2002 Something tells me Snow takes a shot at Maven, because he's jealous for some reason.
Guest notJames Posted April 12, 2002 Report Posted April 12, 2002 I agree. Can you be more specific? I agree with Mystery Eskimo. Mystery Eskimo has posted almost 1000 times. What exactly do you agree with? I agree with Mystery Eskimo when he said: "I don't really like BillyChucky, but they should keep the belts on them and build up their heat until the writers can find a half-decent team to beat them. Snow/Maven ain't even close." Well, Satanico said pretty much the same thing. Do you agree with him as well? Ummm, ... no. ...
Guest Posted April 12, 2002 Report Posted April 12, 2002 I think everyone was thinking about this potential nightmare. I SAY BRING MARTY JANNETTY BACK, SHAVE SNOW'S BEARD, AND FORM THE NEW NEW ROCKERS.... just kidding. Anyway, I would be happy with Al being a tag champ, given he is with a good partner. At this point, he isn't. Billy & Chuck, whether or not you like them, have at least paid their dues-you have to give it to Billy for just surviving through the crap gimmicks he's had, and I think Chuck is pretty decent. Maven has paid nothing. He lived in a mansion for 13 weeks while he trained. Though I could stand him winning the hardcore title(any division where Crash Holly is a legend is lacking credability), I would be pissed beyond belief if they put a real title on him at this point. Send him down to OVW full-time for a few years, let him come back when he's ready. I'd also like to just point out that the tag team division is basically non-existent right now.
Guest El Satanico Posted April 12, 2002 Report Posted April 12, 2002 Well, Satanico said pretty much the same thing. Do you agree with him as well? Ummm, ... no. ... Hey damn it why can't you also agree with me? Help! :holds up Conspiracy Victim sign: I'm being held down!
Guest notJames Posted April 12, 2002 Report Posted April 12, 2002 I would agree with you, but Brother D'von said you're the devil and that i should give him all my money so he can eradicate you from God's green earth. D'von: Well said, my son! Now, here's my bank account number. Nonsequential bills please. TESTIFY!!! Thy will be done.
Guest El Satanico Posted April 12, 2002 Report Posted April 12, 2002 Well if Brother D'Von says its ok then who am i to argue with him. :gives Brother D'von a blank check: Yes now you go testify my brother
Guest Posted April 13, 2002 Report Posted April 13, 2002 why is everyone being so mean about maven, he is not that bad. am the only one who wants to see a maven v rico feud? loser gets eyebrows/sideburns shaved. i think that could draw. also maven and rico are both rather nice to look at mmmmmmm
Guest Posted April 13, 2002 Report Posted April 13, 2002 why is everyone being so mean about maven, he is not that bad. am the only one who wants to see a maven v rico feud? Probably. I don't dislike Maven, I just think he's not ready yet.
Guest goodhelmet Posted April 13, 2002 Report Posted April 13, 2002 Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if Maven mixed in a new move once in awhile. Has the guy done anything besides a dropkick and a small package?
Guest Human Fly Posted April 13, 2002 Report Posted April 13, 2002 Maven needs to stay in HWA exclusively for another month or two and then come back when he's added some moves. Billy and Chuck should go over here. No question, if they start hot shotting the titles around to every rag tag team then we're going to get a crap division. They need to stabalize the titles. Billy and Chuck are over keep them champs.
Guest Anglesault Posted April 13, 2002 Report Posted April 13, 2002 Maven/Storm should win the belts and hotshot them to the Megadorks. It will give Angle/Jericho something to do while they are demoted. Edit: I meant Maven/Snow, sorry
Guest Human Fly Posted April 13, 2002 Report Posted April 13, 2002 "Maven/Storm should win the belts and hotshot them to the Megadorks. It will give Angle/Jericho something to do while they are demoted." Triple H would probably beat them for the tag titles in a handicap match. Or he would bring back the returning tag team wrestling legend Dink to be his partner.
Guest evenflowDDT Posted April 13, 2002 Report Posted April 13, 2002 Maven needs to stay in HWA exclusively for another month or two and then come back when he's added some moves. Billy and Chuck are over keep them champs. Just another month or two? Even the least talented indy worker knows more moves than Maven... anyway, I agree totally, leave Billy & Chuck as tag team champs until a suitable tag team (Angle & Jericho would be pretty cool, though I doubt they'd do it) can take it from 'em... call me crazy but I'm actually growing a little fond of 'em, even if Chuck did one of the worst selling jobs I've ever seen with the Al Snow headbutts. Actually my liking them can be traced entirely to Rico... I love this guy... especially his '70s-porno star sideburns/haircut
Guest Dangerous A Posted April 13, 2002 Report Posted April 13, 2002 Maven and Al Snow would be HORRIBLE. They have no chemistry besides the association with TE. Wow, Maven wins the tag belts with his dropkick of horrible doom? Please, Chuck and Billy are just getting over so let them have their run.
