Guest Dynamite Kido Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 Well, besides UX2 there wasn't a whole lot to brag about on this show. Raven's partner being Sandman was total garbage. Sandman came back as his usual shitty self, and the tag title match was pretty bad too. Abyss/Redshirts vs. AJ/AMW was actually pretty good and I REALLY enjoyed UX2. I definately think this one was better and I would probably give it about ***1/2.
Guest The Notorious CRD Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 Definitely Ultimate X 2.
AnonymousBroccoli Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 Ultimate X.2, with nothing coming close. They did a good job fixing the bugs (maybe too good, if you ask Sabin), but I still would've liked it to be a little longer, and they didn't work the gimmick into the match a whole lot. I'm still glad I saw the show (err... match), but without a UX.2 next week, I don't have any reason to order. The rest was pretty boring, and I didn't start watching TNA to pay to be bored by wrestling any more.

I think they used the gimmick very well, without overdoing it. But it wouldn't have killed them to make the match another 10 minutes and maybe cut Jarrett's time, for Christ's sake.

The heels trying to cheat the match, springing off the ropes, and jumping off the chair was nicely done. I liked how they used the ladder in the same regard, but I thought it went a little long (one of those infamous 5-minute+ ref bumps). If they're trying to put over their innovative match idea, they should have used it more. Nobody else uses cables that I'm aware of, while the ladder's been almost overdone in the past 5 years or so.
