dubq 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2004 I bought this the other day at EB [along with the free copy of Splinter Cell...and Hitman 2 for $30] and I haven't put it down since. Great game with a great combat engine. Apparently the original PoP game is an unlockable as well. What do you peeps think of it?
Slayer 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2004 Since it's on my prospective purchase list (for PC), I'd also like to hear thoughts and opinions on it
dubq 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2004 IMO, so far, it's definitely one of the more satisfying "action/adventure" type games I've played in quite some time. I'd say that it measures up to Mario 64 - which is a big deal for me, because I loved that game...
Renegade 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2004 Well I'm doing alot of revision for my upcoming exams right now because I spent most of last week playing it. One of the best games I've played in a while. Battle system could do a little work but control wise super smooth. A million times better than I thought it would be. Yuna_Firerose 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2004 I also agree with the 'best game in a long while' opinion. The combat sometimes got too much and annoying, but the strategy involved....like, whoah. At times, when they'd show me a room I had to get through [example, the zoo], I'd be looking at it like 'Riiiiight. Okay. Not gonna happen.] But then you get started, and before you know it, you're able to do all sorts of cool things. The detail in the game is simply outstanding. If you rolled the Prince around in a dusty area, his clothes would get dirty. Also, as the game progresses, and his character evolves, his idle animations would change. The voice-acting is also a nice touch. Basically, you're living out the Prince's story, so he'll narrate some scenes with how he feels and everything. Basically, if you can rent it, then do so. Renegade 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2004 Minor historical irk I have with this game, Persia never called their Kings "Sultan" but "Shah".
fazzle 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2004 My only problem with the game was the fact that I beat it in 9 1/2 hours. But those were a great 9 1/2 hours.
dubq 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2004 Minor historical irk I have with this game, Persia never called their Kings "Sultan" but "Shah". Yeah, I was wondering about that too. Sultan is more of an Arabic/Turkish/Malaysian thing... Also, they mention that they're in India... yet Persia is what is now called Iran...
Renegade 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2004 (edited) Minor historical irk I have with this game, Persia never called their Kings "Sultan" but "Shah". Yeah, I was wondering about that too. Sultan is more of an Arabic/Turkish/Malaysian thing... Also, they mention that they're in India... yet Persia is what is now called Iran... ...yeah that too. Although its not all innacurate, the prince quoting a story about the (fictional) Persian warrior Rostam shows that they did their homework. dubq 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2004 Though, I think Darius I ruled India and Persia simultaneously at some point... so maybe they figured it was the same thing. *shrug*
