Guest TDinDC1112 Report post Posted January 10, 2004 Corino at least has a mind for the business, and if he didn't it wouldn't be as bad because he doesn't go around pimping himself as the best wrestler there is. Teddy just doesn't get it. It's like he's running three miles a day because he's training to be a fisherman. Well, somehow Teddy Hart has positioned himself as more of a draw than Steve Corino has ever been. Good or bad, no matter how he accomplished it, Teddy Hart's name being announced on a card now is going to get about 20 times the interest as Steve Corino's name on a card will. Guest OSIcon Report post Posted January 10, 2004 Although I would like to think otherwise, I have to agree that it really seems like a work. It was obvious from day one that MLW was going to use Teddy Hart's past actions to their benefit with a "Loose Cannon" gimmick. The post match angle with Danielson just reinforces that fact . Working his heat with Corino into the story just seems like the next step. (On a side note, I always hate when promotions use something that happened in another promotion to gain interest in theirs. There's just something so not creative and unappealing about that.) Corino also has a fondness from worked-shoots, as seen in his angle with Homicide (and Gabe) in ROH. There would be interest in a feud between the two and I am sure Corino would put aside any hard feelings he would have against Teddy in order to work everyone and have a good feud in the process. Well, somehow Teddy Hart has positioned himself as more of a draw than Steve Corino has ever been. Good or bad, no matter how he accomplished it, Teddy Hart's name being announced on a card now is going to get about 20 times the interest as Steve Corino's name on a card will. It's true that Teddy does have himself in that position and it's unfortunate. Like a lot of people in all areas of entertainment, he is being rewarded for for acting out of line. It really doesn't seem like this was all a plan of Teddy's or even that he has really taken advantage of it himself. Instead, he has gotten press and promoters looking for anything to create a buzz are more than willing to use him.
thuganomics 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2004 I'm glad I'm not the only one to see this is an obvious work. But if MLW handles it well, this could be an amazing damn build up for a pretty damn good match. I'll have to wait and see...
JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2004 -Steve Corino over Terry Funk (Apparently, this match didn't end their feud as it ended with the referee stopping the match because Funk was about to pass out and wouldn't give up) -Sonjay Dutt over Chasyn Rance, Jack Evans, and Pinoy Boy (Said to have been an awesome spotfest from all four guys) -Chad Hart over Rich Criado -Los Maximos over Julius Smokes and Norman Smiley -Chris Hero, Mike Modest, and P.J. Friedman over Bobby Quance, M-Dogg 20, and Matt Martel -Jerry Lynn over Teddy Hart (Hart goes to do his flips after the match, but Lynn tells him not to. Hart does anyway and they get into an argument, Lynn hits him with the Cradle Piledriver and leaves. Corino, who is doing commentary holds up a sheet of paper with "Idiot" written on it, apparently directed at Hart, and Hart responds by screaming challenges at Corino) -Stampede Bulldogs over Dark Fuego/Pete Wilson and Havana Pitbulls -Low Ki over Chad Collyer (Gary Hart, yes that Gary Hart, is going to be Homicide and Low Ki's manager) -Vampiro over Raven -Extreme Horsemen over Samoan Island Tribe (J.J. Dillon joined the Extreme Horsemen) After the show was over, Teddy Hart came out to shake hands with the fans. Very nice, said he doesn't care if people like or hate him, he's just happy going out and doing what he loves. Seemed very sincere and the same fans that hated him during the match showed him a lot of respect, and he did the same to the fans. Good for him, looks like he has a bright future in MLW. Jerry Lynn came out for a LONG time, signing things and visiting with the fans. Again, credit goes to mikewg from the MLW forums.
Guest Corino 1000 Report post Posted January 11, 2004 Does Corino's ridiculous dependence on blading make him a pro wrestler? Does Harts ridiculous dependence on backflips and bad attitude make him a wrestler. The backflips and attitude have nothing to do with his wrestling during a match. Im right Harts attitude does not make him a PRO WRESTLER. It doesent matter what you can do in the ring. Its how you act. Pro or not pro. Teddy Hart my friend is not a pro. He's just some faggot that thinks he's the shit cause he was born in The Hart Family.

Hart's attitude is no different from someone like Hogan, or HHH, or HBK, or Savage, or Flair, or Austin as far as 'un-proffesionalism' goes. And they did pretty well for themselves. If that last report is true, he's a kid who's got an attitude problem, but still respects the fans and the business...he just needs somone to talk him into a little sense.
