So, 'Polkaroo' goes to post in the 'Post here if you're an anonymous member' thread because that's the kind of thing he does. Anyway, he has his usual long, thought-out post all ready, hits the 'Submit' button and is hit with this slap in the face:

"Your posting permissions have been removed"

What's all this aboot?

"Polkaroo" sparingly posts to begin with, so I don't see any reason behind this except in the case of the admin(s) not knowing whether the username belonged to a PBP or not.

Actually, I went searching for previous Polkaroo posts and it shows him as not being banned, thus making this situation all the more intriguing.

What would be the point of disabling "Polkaroo"'s reading of posts? If they already can't post, then they're obviously no longer any sort of possible problem. And "Polkaroo" did nothing that came anywhere near warranting a complete ban.

time to start making the Polkaroo Tribute vidnette. It can have "That's what friends are for" playing in the background...kinda like

"The good times" *shot of Polkaroo in Fertig thread*

"The Bad times" *shot of Polkaroo in shitty thread*

"Knowing you could always count on me...fo' sure...that's what Friends are For" *shot of Polkaroo smiling*

Posted

a) Polkaroo never posted in the Fertig thread

b) 90% of the threads Polkaroo posted in were shitty. That's why he posted in them.

c) Polkaroo never smiles, his facial expression never changes.

Canada also gave us Tom Green which cancels out everything positive they did

It is truly an international day of mourning in TSM if Polkaroo has "passed on"

Not true, I got him to post IN ANGER once

Apart from breaking the rules, of course.

Zuh?

These are the (hopefully) clear rules of Hardcore Discussion.

1. Flaming is allowed here, stupidity is not.  This isn't the "Stupid Crap" folder, so don't post any. This is especially geared towards gimmick posters.

Canada is one of those nations that is continually held in check by doing good things, and then bad things to cancel them out

Example:

Canada gave us Rush (yay)

but Canada also gave us Alanis Morisette (boo)

Canada also gave us Phil Hartman

and god made Phil Hartman's wife shoot Phil in the head because God hated the Tom Green show

<cut rule #1 that we all know by heart>

I hardly see anything bannable about posting "Polkaroo" randomly, and he didn't even show up that often to be an annoyance (not like other gimmick posters we all know and dislike)

Meh, Polkaroo only popped up in threads where "Stupid Crap" was already taking place.

Yeah, but it's still a banable offence. I don't think he was banned for it, but he could be.

Hardly

I bet most everyone else in this thread could come up with 10 posters that should be banned before Polkaroo

sigh

Look at the post I was replying to. It said that Polkaroo didn't do anything remotely banworthy. I pointed out he broke rule one on Hardcore Discussion. I don't think for one second he was banned for it, but he did break that rule, and could have been banned for it.

Now, I want you to give me 10 posters that should be banned before Polkaroo. Along with reasons why they have broken more rules than Polkaroo. Not the same amount of rules, but more rules. Please enlighten me, oh great one.

if you wish death on Polaroo would it be a bannable offence as Polkaroo is more of a state of mind than an actual figure?

I mourn the passing of Polkaroo.
