Guest Skironox Report post Posted January 14, 2004 I've had my PS2 for 2 years now, and have been using the same controller the whole time. It plays games and DVDs just fine, but a problem is with my controller. Sometimes, when I'm playing, a message just pops up on my screen "Insert Dual Shock controller". I've had this message pop up on Vice City, Max Payne 2, and Soul Calibur 2. When I do this, my controller is completely inserted into it's slot, it's not hanging out or loose, I play about 4 feet away from the TV, I don't yank it or anything, it just mysteriously goes kaput. It throws fits like that every other week or so. What's going on?
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2004 Well, is your controller plugged in all the way? If so, maybe it's time for a new controller...
Guest Skironox Report post Posted January 14, 2004 Yeah, I alsonoticed that the vibrate function pretty much doesn't work most of the time, that might have something to do with it. And yes, my controller is plugged in all the way Not to worry either way, I got another PS2 from a giveaway. I can just switch the controllers around if it keeps crapping out, same with the system. Renegade 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2004 I got that problem with my controllers which then led to to the analogue screwing up. Why is the PS2 hardware so crappy?
Guest Skironox Report post Posted January 14, 2004 Why is the PS2 hardware so crappy? Sony is notorious for using the cheapest, most crappy parts in all their electronics, not just their video game systems. It's the console equivalent of planned obsolecense.
