Guest Chaplin Report post Posted January 15, 2004 okay I've been watching NWATNA for all of year two, and have every episode on tape, and I often lend out these tapes so people can get the feel of the federation, and generally everybody I've shown it too generally liked and asks for more. This is from the same type of people who only watched wrestling when it was cool, and people who watch wrestling all the time, the only difference is they don't have internet, so they don't know TNA even exists, or if they have the internet there the type that gallivants on Yahoo and AOL all day long, or barely uses there computer. and the problem isn't the 10 bucks it costs to see, most of the people would pay the money. What the problem is where I am Viewers choice does offer it directly through there PPV ordering menu, you have to go to the actual channel it's on, and order it from there, and that channel is 141, right spack fuck in the middle of the other PPV channels, and who the hell channel surfs those channels anyways? Astro101 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2004 I remember when TNA was on 192 on DirecTV...but luckily they changed it to 102, near the new PPV movies.
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2004 Actually, the reason TNA doesn't get as many viewers as it could is a combination of a few reasons. The more important ones, in my eyes, are advertising (TNA practically has none) and quality of the product (which has lowered drastically since TNA began airing). Guest Chaplin Report post Posted January 15, 2004 but thats my whole point if TNA started actually advertising there product more somehow, I think people would buy, because besides what everybody believes so called "marks" want to see actual wrestling and not twenty minutes of wrestling. you know what my "Mark" friends told me one day, and I qoute "You know I don't watch wrestling anymore because all they do is talk talk talk, if I wanted to see somebody talk I'd turn off the fucking TV and watch you yap." because wrestling has always been about wresting. and the product in not bad, not the best but not bad, considering they only have two hours a week to work with to advance multi storylines
Michrome 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2004 I'm sorry, but anecdotal stories don't cut it. I have a mark friend that only watches Raw to see Steve Austin kick random people's asses. No matter how much advertising they do, if the show doesn't improve tenfold, they won't keep new viewers. They had a lot of advertising for the 1 cent show, and completely blew any momentum they had after it.
Guest Chaplin Report post Posted January 15, 2004 man they didn't advertise the 1 cent PPV very much, a few stuff on the Internet, where there core base is anyways, so that really doesn't matter, and what else? A few local specific commerical spots. If they wanted to advertise TNA they should, I mean my local rock station even airs WWE 30 second blips on the air, while TNA goes on Radio shows I've never even heard of, or care about. The point is TNA can make is as a viable 2 promotion if they get off there asses and promote, and stop promoting for rednecks. Watching Jeff Jarrett, AJ Styles or even the allmighty himself Jesus haning out with a bunch of Nascar Drivers is not going to make me want to watch TNA it's going to make me turn if off. I mean the only reason I watch TNA now is because I like it, and I'm too lazy to order stuff through mail, and WWE sort bores me with it larger than life attitude. and Michrome I guess we just have different types of marks for friends, thats all. I still think people in the end are wanting to see wrestling, which is what TNA usually provides
Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted January 15, 2004 Well the bottom line on this is, there is no way they can beef up the advertising. They loose money every week because they spend more than they make. By them increasing advertising they would then just be loosing even more money than usual.
