Guest MikeSC Report post Posted January 17, 2004 Well, Miami is again alive with rumors that Castro has passed away. Been raging there for a few days now. Has ANYBODY heard definitive news either way? -=Mike

BX 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2004 I think it'd be all over the news if it happened.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2004 I think Cuba could hide Castro's death for a pretty significant amount of time.
Guest SP-1 Report post Posted January 18, 2004 Depends on when the rumor is saying he passed away. A South Carolina delegation actually went to Cuba pretty recently to talk about trade, believe it or not. They apparently had a sit down with ol' Fidel. The ludicrous reports of his "warmth" have subsequently made me disgusted.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2004 I dunno, the report I read in the Charleston paper didn't necessarily talk about the leader being warm, just really talkative and lively to a degree that belied what we've been hearing about his failing health. It also noted how he skirted around a few questions. Maybe the Columbia reporter was a little too generous.
Guest SP-1 Report post Posted January 18, 2004 I read it in the Charleston paper, too. Though I could be remembering it slightly off. They did seem a little too friendly for my tastes, though. Then again, the letters to the editor section may be coloring my memory as well as there were a couple of people pretty hot about it.

And, honestly, our textile whores would trade with Satan. -=Mike
Guest SP-1 Report post Posted January 18, 2004 Mike are you also based here in South Carolina? I know, that's probably a stupid question but SC could mean Southern California or whatever.
Guest MikeSC Report post Posted January 19, 2004 Mike are you also based here in South Carolina? I know, that's probably a stupid question but SC could mean Southern California or whatever. It actually goes between S. Carolina and Florida. -=Mike
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted January 19, 2004 The thought of Mike living in the same state as me is very troubling.
