Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2004 Seeing as Brock and Goldberg are on separate brands, the seeds for their feud must be sewn at the Rumble this weekend. I can see both men jumping shows for a few weeks after Rumble to get to WM, but how do you think they will get there? What is the most logical (in other words, anti-WWE) way they can get these 2 guys on their path to WM? They are definitely going to have to have some backstage interaction at the Rumble to get the fire stoked. What do you think will be done?
Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted January 23, 2004 I don't think it happens since I believe somebody from SmackDown will win the RR and Holly definately isn't taking the strap from Brock.
Guest Boomer Sprinklespax Report post Posted January 23, 2004 This is the scenario I've had in my head for a few weeks: Benoit starts the 'Rumble at #1, of course, and puts on a great performance, barely hanging in there until the very end when he eliminates whoever is the final man in the ring before Goldberg. Goldberg comes out, they go at it for a bit, Goldberg wins since he is fresh and Benoit is tired. The next night on Raw, Triple H (still World Champ) goes apeshit at Bischoff, demanding that he stop Goldberg from getting the title shot. Why? Because Trips will say he's already beaten Goldberg and Goldberg doesn't deserve it. Under intense pressure, Bischoff says he will make a trade for Goldberg, thusly keeping Goldberg from another World Title shot, and instead giving him a WWE Title shot on the SD! roster. The trade, after a few weeks of buildup, will end up being Goldberg even up for Benoit. Benoit goes to Raw, dominates, and the shows play up his being held down on numerous occasions. Benoit asks Trips for a World Title shot, seeing as he was second in the 'Rumble and outlasted 28 other men, and Trips refuses. Benoit then wins some sort of #1 contender match prior to 'Mania, probably defeating Randy Orton or some such nonsense. There it is.
Mole 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2004 No, that won't happen. It is a good idea though, but that would make too much sense and that doesn't fit WWE logic. I could really see Orton winning the Rumble, but he isn't my pick. That would be Cena.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted January 23, 2004 It's hard to say... I mean, If Eddy is going to win the title at NWO, Then Angle HAS to win the rumble...So I'm guessing Raw and Smackdown do some sort of GBerg/Benoit trade?
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2004 Goldberg could always cost Lesnar the title at NWO.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted January 23, 2004 The Rumble is down to Benoit and Goldberg. Lesnar tries to eliminate Benoit but accidently eliminates Goldberg.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted January 23, 2004 That still doesn't get Goldberg and Benoit over... It would be retarded to just say "Well, these two guys will just switch places".
