Honestly. Well, I bowl A LOT of the time, and I wouldn't buy one.
J. Hungerford Smith 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2004 I actually bowl for sport, so I'll give my insight. Those are polyester bowling balls which are basically used to throw straight at a single pin spare. They don't hook as much as the other types of bowling balls such as reactive resin and proactive particle resin. In fact, they tend not to hook at all so they're pretty useless if you're throwing your strike ball. I've seen some people throw them, there's also a Chyna one, and from WCW there are nWo and Goldberg. Since polyester balls don't have to be made especially to perform, they're getting some interesting new designs. If you've ever seen the movie Kingpin you see Bill Murray throwing the clear ball with a rose in it, that's available as well as one with a bowling pin, a skull and a Budweiser bottle. Guest Coffey Report post Posted January 23, 2004 That was a pretty in-depth explaination there J, thanks for that. I've bowled on occasion, at one time I even started going weekly. I never joined a league or anything, however I did get my own ball. It was a blue "tornado" ball. I assume it's not very good, as it was around $100, but it does hook which is what I needed. Not to mention I got finger holes that actually fit. I gave up because I would rather not go and save the money instead of bowl with bad form. I throw with my right hand, and always end on my right foot. Not to mention, I could never hook the ball with three fingers, so I always used two...which makes your hand start hurting pretty soon. After three games, you're beat. I might take it up again when I'm more serious about improving. I didn't know the type of ball made that much difference. I just thought there were hook balls and straight balls.

My dad has the Mystery Men skull ball Yeah, I have nothing else to add, except for the fact that the Jericho ball, while still horrible, isn't anywhere near as bad as the Rock or Austin one. Sonic Reducer 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2004 If I bowled, I'd pick up that Jericho one just for the hell of it.

Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2004 I remember seeing these things advertised when I bowled with some friends years ago. Seemed kinda dumb back then. Still does.
