Working backwards here and under the assumption Benoit vs. HHH and Goldberg vs. Lesnar will happen at WMXX, is it possible both Benoit and Goldberg could jointly win the Rumble and that this would explain the matches occuring at WMXX?

 

Or, at the very least, perhaps provide a somewhat logical explanation?

 

The only problem I see here is the other rumour that Eddie takes Brock's title at No Way Out.

I could care less what the rumored line-up is for Mania - just by looking back in time two months and seeing we had joint winners for the SD! Title Shot battle royal would kill the idea of re-doing it at the Rumble.

I can't imagine doing that again so soon after breaking it out for Cena and Benoit a month or so ago. Granted its still possible, just not as likely.

So we're assuming that HHH loses to Michaels I take it. But I'm not sure how Benoit would fit into that unless WWE do a face vs face, which they are normally very reluctant to do (the last main instance that i can remember being Rock/Austin in the lead up to WM XVII). And from the current storyline on Smackdown it would make more sense for Eddie to be fighting Angle before Brock.

The first time they re-done, it killed it. When it happened the first time it was supposed to be a freak incident. When a freak incident of that nature happens more than once in 10 years...it loses all credibility. One time was enough.

You know, I could see this happening. Benoit and Orton go over together, and both are awarded a title shot. Leads to an Orton/Benoit feud.

 

Orton then goes on to face HHH (thereby triggering the rumored face turn), or HBK, as Hunter generously agrees to let him wear his previous belt at the Royal Rumble in order to put Orton over.

 

I didn't say I wanted it to happen...but I could see them doing it. They won't care if the two winners thing is overused or not.
