Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Report post Posted January 23, 2004 As is the usual custom around Rumble time, I slam a few DVD's in the DVD player to watch past Rumbles. Watching 2003, I noticed a few things that remind me of this years Rumble. The Title Match We Are Looking Forward To 2003 - Benoit vs. Angle 2004 - HHH vs. HBK The Title Match Where We Know The Winner 2003 - HHH vs. Steiner 2004 - Brock vs. Hardcore Holly The Only Feasible Wrestlers Who Can Win Rumble 2003 - Brock 2004 - Benoit / Goldberg The Only Really Interesting Angle Is One Slowly Brewing 2003 - Jericho / HBK 2004 - Angle / Eddie Though on the whole I am looking forward to this years Rumble more than lasts, I think there are some parrallels. Are there any more?
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2004 Are there any more? Well, last year: hyped up Taker return, expected to be old-school Taker but turned out to be just American Bad Ass Taker. This year: no hype about it, but it is expected Taker return. Expected to be the resurrection of the old-school Taker. Last year: Billy Gunn return is hyped up. Nobody cares, and he did nothing of note afterwards. This year: Ditto.

Toxxic 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2004 The Cruiserweight Title is pretty much ignored? Probably. i can't remember what happened last year, but it's pretty much a no-brainer.

Guest Coffey Report post Posted January 23, 2004 The Only Feasible Wrestlers Who Can Win Rumble 2004 - Benoit / Goldberg I got to disagree there. My money is on Randy Orton. However, don't count out Kane, The Big Show, John Cena, Goldberg, Chris Benoit, Kurt Angle a returning Undertaker or Eddie Guerrero (if he some how gets in). I say it's up in the air. Benoit's #1 and people are talking about it now. Goldberg, after all the Jackhammer shit, seems to be in the process of getting nerfed.

Guest AndrewisyourHero Report post Posted January 23, 2004 2003-Tag Title match that nobody cares about What tag title match? The Dudley Boyz defeated WWE World tag Team Champions, Lance Storm & William Regal, to win the titles
Guest Coffey Report post Posted January 23, 2004 I was actually anticipating that match. I liked Storm & Regal as a team and I've always been a Dudley Boyz mark. Of course, the Dudleyz were stale & it's odd watching Regal wrestle (being a southpaw and all).
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted January 23, 2004 (edited) In case anyone wanted to know, this will be the fourth year in a row that Bubba and D-Von will challenge for the tag belts. And the third year that no one cares who wins. Edited January 23, 2004 by Anglesault
Guest Choken One Report post Posted January 23, 2004 nah...They had a REALLY good match in 2001.
Guest Coffey Report post Posted January 23, 2004 I don't know why the Dudley Boyz get so much flak around here. Seriously, how can you guys say that no one cares when the Dudleyz obviously get huge pops when they come out and are money in the bank at house shows? Do you not hear the crowd during their entrance, during their headbutt or during their finisher? They may be stale to us here posting on a wrestling message forum, but they aren't dead to EVERYONE. razazteca 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2004 It's stale because the Dudley Boys only get one match up a year to run into the ground.
