The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2004 Whilst babbling in my livejournal...I began thinking about Road Rules...and why I don't like the newer seasons...here's what I wrote: --------- I'd like to say...I miss the first two seasons. It's been fun seeing Kat on ESPN, and Tim Beggy on The History Channel... and Emily in the RR/RW Challenges... but I miss Christian, Devin, Effie, Mark, and all the rest of the people from Seasons 1 & 2... I loved everything about Road Rules up until Season 5 or so... Season 4 was probably the last great season...when they were in the Islands...after that it was dowwwwnhill.... 1 - USA 2 - USA 3 - Europe 4 - Islands 5 - Northern Trail 6 - Australia 7 - Latin America 8 - Semester At Sea 9 - Maximum Velocity 10 - The Quest I had to look up some of those... I couldn't figure out if Australia or Latin America was 6... I'll always remember "TEAM OCHO!" from SaS though... and I hated the last two seasons just cause people could get voted off for failing. That just started my hatred of the newer versions of the show. The original 4 or 5 were exactly like the tagline... "Real World in a Winnie" ...the others kinda balked from that... more risks were taken... the missions were tougher... I liked the first seasons for the drama of it and the way they interacted...not how long they have to stay buried alive or shit like that. ----- The original series was so fun because the whole point was that these people weren't really getting paid to be on TV...but that their payment was the stuff they won at the end...and the memories they had. I mean...watching them all leave each other at the end of the seasons always made me cry. One of the seasons did "And then there was ____" ...I think it was season 3 or 4... it just got me choked up... and i reflected back on that when dealing with leaving Florida over a year ago. It was almost the same situation. But still...i'm not sure many agree with me...but that show will never be what it once was... and I wish they would put those older seasons on DVD... I miss seeing them (though I think they are shown on some basic cable channels and on MTV every now and again) I'm just totally rambling... P.S. Timmy & Christian still rule. Remember on the RW/RR Challenge when he and LT (?) were bullshitting and so Christian said "Whassup my nigga?" and then that black chick got pissed off and started to beat him up? Great TV. You can only say "nigga" if you're either: A. Close friends with an African American B. Born and raised in the hood That's my understanding. The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2004 I can't remember Christian's drinking toast. It was so awesome too.. holding the beer completely upside down with the silly look on his face. That was great. I thought it was great that at the end of Season 2... Christian bought Timmy "Airplane" ...and Timmy gave Christian back of some his underwear that he stole during like Week 2 ... I have the first two RR books...covering seasons 1-4 and the "Real World All-Star Challenge" that included Jon (or Eric...I think) almost killing himself in the giant "hamster ball".
