dubq 0 Report post Posted February 5, 2004 Posted at Wrestlezone.com: "Paul Heyman announced that at No Way Out it will be Cena -vs- Angle -vs- Show for a #1 Contenders Match at WMXX." I'm sure we can all see the point of this: Angle...Eddy...WWE Title....Wrestlemania! That match will probably happen, but I highly doubt that Lesnar is dropping the title to Eddy. I doubt WWE puts that much faith in a guy who's not 260+ pounds...
lomasmoney 0 Report post Posted February 5, 2004 well eddie did weight 250 on his mugshot from a few years back.... He was also listed as being white so go figure
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2004 Well Eddie isn't 250 lbs. but I can see the mugshot people breaking down Hispanics into the basic "white" or "black" categories. Anyway, why are we even discussing this? Eddie MUST win the title at this point. No other scenario makes a damn bit of sense. I can't see Brock defending against Angle at WM (just happened), the Big Show stuff is played with Brock, and his match with Cena was weak. I think WM being GB's last day in the company hurts Brock. I mean they can't have the guy going after a major title on his last night...it's insulting to the roster and to everyone who knows GB is gone. It reminds me a bit of the N2R 99 show where Taz fought RVD on his last night in ECW. Everyone knew Taz was jobbing, so why bother making it for a belt of any kind? On the SMDN side WM should be as thus: Eddie/Angle title match Brock/Goldberg grudge dream match Cena/Big Show US title

cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2004 I repeat, Lesnar cannot possibly hold the title going into WM. There is nothing about it that makes sense. After tonight's SMDN we know that there is a 3 way for the #1 contender between Angle, Cena, and Show. Since I can't really see Cena maining WM yet and there's no way in hell Big Show is that leaves Kurt as the only likely winner. And since Kurt will be #1 contender for WM, he'll likely face Eddie (whom he has had some angles with of late). Pretty much all of those Brock vs. whoever matches have been done to death or weren't any good. Angle? Done to death. Show? Seriously done to death. Cena? Wasn't any good. Thus, Eddie is going to win.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted February 6, 2004 am I the only one annoyed that Eddy and Benoit are both playing the same role here? Kind of Annoying as it devalues each men's chase as they are EACH doing the same thing... If Benoit wasn't going to Mania...I'd swear Angle should drop the title to Eddy at Mania... I still wonder though...Will Vince go with tradition and honor and have Angle/Eddy last or go with Benoit/HHH/HBK? Personally, Eddy/Angle should be the FINAL match because it's for the WWE Title...but HHH will demand to get the headline spot...
Hektik 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2004 It is hard to believe that just one year ago Eddie and Benoit were both in a 3 way tag match at Wrestlemania. Now 1 year later they are going to be involved in both World title matches against the same champions from last year (assuming Eddie does beat Brock which is pretty much a lock, hopefully). cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2004 I actually heard they might go with UT/Kane as the main event! I hope to god that isn't true, since it would be insanely retarded. My god, that match wasn't even the main in 1998 when it was fresh and had major heat. I don't think a 3 way should be the last match (and the Raw belt is worthless anyway) so Eddie/Angle should be the main.

I wouldn't put it past "WWE Creative" to have the strap on the line for that match either...
