That was balls, they kept her an annoying crybaby forever, and then made her a good fighter out of nowhere. And teens are annoying...but not that annoying.

Again I don't think she was ever annoying, but every 14-15 year old girl I've ever known is exactly like that. Teenagers whine, it's just a fact of life.

The only time I really found Dawn annoying was the "Get out, GET OUT, GET OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!" line from Blood Ties, and when she said in a simliar fashion, "Be her. Be Glory. GLORY, GLORY GLORY!!!!!"

 

But besides that I thought she was fine.

Well, she didn't really become a badass. It was more like the fact that Buffy never let her fight, and that is why she was a bitch. Buffy finally let her fight so there was no reason for her to be a bitch.

I could go on about the arc, the brilliant stand alone episodes, the brilliant context and performances, all the stuff that are in most Buffy seasons but done here to the nth degree. But really, it all comes down to how much you care and feel for the characters and I LOVE every character this season, from the main cast, to Faith and the Mayor, to Wesley and Anya, to Kakistos and Mr. Trick. That's what makes the season infinitely watchable and probably the best year in any show I've seen.
