Guest Razor Roman Report post Posted February 5, 2004 CNN CATCHES FOXNEWS IN TUESDAY NIGHT ELECTION COVERAGE Thu Feb 05 2004 09:44:18 ET For a few brief quarter-hours, the nation's original all-news channel CNN matched and passed audience ratings of America's #1 FOXNEWS, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned. Coverage of Tuesday evening's South Carolina, Missouri and other Dem primary races gave CNN 1,829,000 viewers during the 9 PM hour on the East Coast, squeaking past FOXNEWS's 1,714,000. Both nets pulled a 1.6 rating, NIELSEN reports. Even though FOX still led the way in all demos for all hours Tuesday night, CNN executives took the results as a sign from the ratings heavens. "The race on the ballot box is not the only race in town, we've got our eyes on being the nation's most watched news network!" declared a top CNN source from Atlanta. http://www.drudgereport.com/flash.htm My guess is, since it was a mostly Democrat night at Fox News has the "Faux News LOL~2004" or whatever you guys call it reputation, that the Democrats who were interested in the results tuned in to the Clinton News Network to hear Judy Woodruf bemoan the lack of coverage the Democrats are getting compared to President Bush (which is a statement I disagree with). I'm not particularly interested in a Faux News versus Clinton News Network kind of war. Just thought I'd share my hypothesis as to why CNN would have 100,000 more viewers on a Democratic primary night.
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted February 5, 2004 Oddly enough, since 2000 I have usually had CNN on more during Election Night than that "other" station. I just tune into Channel 34 on my Comcast cable line-up to look for my n*gga Mike Barone...
