Downhome 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2004 Watch the teaser trailer. I thought it was a joke when I first heard about it. Sincerely, ...Downhome...

Guest El Satanico Report post Posted February 7, 2004 All I have to say is ugh. But how can you say that without even seeing a trailer. As far as you know it could be the greatest comedy ever. If it is we shall all laugh at your doubts. We shall laugh like men who have heard a very funny joke.
Guest The Notorious CRD Report post Posted February 7, 2004 Yes, how CAN you judge it without even seeing so much as a trailer?
syxx2001 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2004 Its a spin off of Barbershop. Queen Latifah is in Barbershop which sets up the spinoff. Have they ever done spin offs for movies before?
Guest Ghettoman Report post Posted February 8, 2004 Scorpion King was a similar idea in prequel form. Why am I writing off this movie already? Because I won't support any movie that was made to simply capatalize on the success of a franchise. They lack artistic merit and reason for existance and they generally suck as much as you'd think. How about, a spin off with those two guys trying to break the ATM? They could start a locksmith business and get themselves into zany situations.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2004 I'd see the hell out of that idea Ghettoman. Anyway, this reminds me of that "Queens of Comedy" that had not one comic I knew so I was wondering how they were queens. This reminds me of that for some reason and I don't know why. I enjoyed Barbershop, Barbershop II looks to be an least a DVD rental but...no way am I seeing Beauty Shop and I can't see it doing well. It might do ok, but I doubt it gets a sequel. King Kamala 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2004 I may be the only one but I liked Barber Shop 2 just as much as the first. Although I was wondering where the hell Anthony Anderson and the other guy that was trying to rob the ATM went ( Perhaps it was because Anderson was doing *shudder* My Baby's Daddy). I find it funny that their was a hidden message about corporate America buying out small businesses and taking over the ghettoes when there were so many hidden endorsements in the movie. ant_7000 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2004 ^You hit the nail on the head, I saw Barbershop 2 last night I thought it was better the first one. It might've been less funny than the 1st, bit it had more of a story than the 1st. I might check out Beauty Shop. I think the board is just shitting on the movie because: 1) Its a black movie and 2) They can't relate to a beauty shop setting.
