Guest PowerPB13 Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 From the Torch site: "-Today on The Howard Stern Show they were talking about the snowboarder Tara Dakides who injured herself doing a stunt on the David Letterman show. They commented how nice that David cancelled show and Robin commented that "David wasn't like the WWF someone gets injured and you just bring on the next act." Stern said, "They did the right thing, unlike the WWF," in reference to the Owen Hart death. Howard also mentioned it on the show later when he explained the whole thing to Jon Bon Jovi. Ouch. [Thanks to PWTorch.com reader Robert Miqueli]" I may consider myself a WWF fan to an extent, but Owen was my favorite wrestler and I'll never forgive them for any aspect of that situation. I know it was an accident...but still. -Patrick
OldSchoolWrestling Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 Howard occasionally has wrestlers and divas on. I wonder if Vince will keep his wrestlers off the show now.
Corey_Lazarus Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 I'm surprised Bon Jovi didn't comment, considering he's friends with Diamond Dallas Page...

Guest netslob Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 what the fuck does Howard Stern know about class? anyone care to field this one?
The Amazing Rando Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 Howard Stern could have just as easily talked about that guy falling into the fire on Survivor. They didn't stop the show there...NOPE...cause it's "Reality TV~!" Or what about scrapping the Twilight Zone Movie after Vic Morrow's death? Nope. Didn't happen. Stuntman in Ben Hur? Nope. Stunt Pilot in Top Gun? Nope. You say "Well they didn't happen on TV!" ...so fucking what?! They are still people whose lives got cut short or hindered momentarily (in the case of the fire guy) by doing their JOBS (or in fire guy's case...just being on a stupid tv show). The biggest reason Stern probably mentioned this is because, right now...no matter WHO he has on that show... wrestling isn't the "in" thing it once was. Because of that, it's fair game to comedians and radio personalities to be tormented or used as the BUTT of jokes or to compare to things that would make them look worse. While I don't agree with the WWF/E's decision... I find Stern's comments completely stupid.
