AndrewTS Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 It seems constantly the WWE site will have some weird crap on it. Something stupid, weird, offensive, or the like. For example: "http://www.wwe.com/images/standard-repository/pvotd/1254743 The Monday Night War is heating up again" ...in Stacy's crotch? "This is the first album to feature ALL Original songs performed entirely by WWE Superstars!" We're in denial, aren't we folks? Someone else already mentioned these headlines right next to each other: Chris Kanyon released from his WWE contract · Lamont's keys to superstardom: hard work, positive attitude Also, since wrestling and innuendo seem to go hand-in-hand, there's a column called "Backdoor" and a headline reading RAW Magazine: Shawn Michaels: Still on top Yeah--aren't two colons a bit much? Add your own past/present stupidity sitings!
Downhome Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 "Bradshaw reveals that he was the victim of a practical joke"
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 The whole website is stupid as a whole, and is indeed "fluff." If I think of, or see any more, I'll be sure to post them.
RavishingRickRudo Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 There's way too much football content on it. *giggles at the "two colons" comment*
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 There's way too much football content on it. Oh, I could have sworn that you were referring to Bill Goldberg's biography there.
Rob E Dangerously Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 Stacy's groin is heating up at least the WWE doesn't post polls for people to answer during RAW anymore. Well.. since I helped Test win that 'Who will be the 4th member of Evolution' thing
RavishingRickRudo Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 If you look at the Michael Cole Bio, you'll see a ton of wrestling-related stuff on it...
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 Yes, Michael Cole does indeed have an interesting bio on WWE.com
Rob E Dangerously Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 "Bradshaw reveals that he was the victim of a practical joke" so.. he was just passing on that shower ritual from when it happened to him
AndrewTS Posted February 12, 2004 Author Report Posted February 12, 2004 I wonder if anyone still has that picture where Nash has the fairy-dust-sparkly hair? Another time I noticed a HUGE ASS BANNER AD for a free condom (tastelessly tucked in some woman's string bikini). I think it was around the time of the original Torrie Playboy hubbub, because I remember it connected somehow with something like that.
Rob E Dangerously Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 does wwe.com still do those polls where Jazz wins, for no reason at all
RavishingRickRudo Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 No, they've up-graded to faking "50/50" polls.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 The only good thing about WWE.com is short results, previews, and the occasional un-kayfabed news and commentaries.
RavishingRickRudo Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 They've semi-improved it with the backdoor where they give out random, useless, information - but they've lost the moronic WWE Writers commentaries and replaced them with moronic WWE Wrestlers commentaries

deancoles Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 What was the Website like during the AOL days?
AndrewTS Posted February 12, 2004 Author Report Posted February 12, 2004 They've semi-improved it with the backdoor where they give out random, useless, information - but they've lost the moronic WWE Writers commentaries and replaced them with moronic WWE Wrestlers commentaries "Bradshaw: Bad intelligence, good politicians" Although I remember the ones you're talking about. Where the one guy would create a company-line column sucking HHH's cock and under a different name would write a "pro-smark" column filled with misconceptions?
RavishingRickRudo Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 That be it. Don't forget about the lil "rivalry" they tried to build up.
deancoles Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 AOL days? When you had to go to AOL and type in WWF, it was advertised in a lot of the wwf mags.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 Ah, back in the day... - Before three consecutive Pay-Per-Views had the same Main Event. I can't think of any more right now.
Guest JumpinJackFlash Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 - Before three consecutive Pay-Per-Views had the same Main Event. Which PPVs?
deancoles Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 - Before three consecutive Pay-Per-Views had the same Main Event. Which PPVs? he's probably on about Rock vs Mankind which was on 4 consecutive ppvs, he's forgot about the Edge/Regal matches.
Silence Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 Although I remember the ones you're talking about. Where the one guy would create a company-line column sucking HHH's cock and under a different name would write a "pro-smark" column filled with misconceptions? Anthony Cali was his name, right? I hated him so much. On a related note, just 1 or 2 years ago on another forum I post at, one poster poked fun at Cali's commentaries every time a new one was up at WWE.com. A lot of people were laughing their asses off. Edit: I'm sorry, it was at a forum I used to post at until the administrator decided to close it down for some reason.
Guest hunger4unger Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 The AOL days were great. Kevin Kelly used to do PBP in the official chat room and it was really interactive. Several wrestlers had AOL s/ns for use in the WWF area (they were listed in a section in the area and began with a restricted "WWF" prefix i.e WWFTest.) The chat room continued to be a great community until the area was closed a year or two ago.

I think so, and the other (or perhaps, the fake name guy) was Brian Solomon(?). Don't forget about the lil "rivalry" they tried to build up. Which I feared would end up in a ring...
AndrewTS Posted February 13, 2004 Author Report Posted February 13, 2004 This is just funny: New York City Feb. 12 -- TORRIE WILSON and SABLE will be signing copies of Playboy from noon to 2 p.m. at the Virgin Megastore, 1540 Broadway, Times Square. The stupid "Smack Your TV" slogan is all over the place on the site. Oh, another poll: Who is your favorite wrestler? Brock Lesnar Triple H Kurt Angle Rob Van Dam What's a wrestler?
LucharesuFan619 Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 Several wrestlers had AOL s/ns for use in the WWF area (they were listed in a section in the area and began with a restricted "WWF" prefix i.e WWFTest.) Jerry Lawler, Al Snow, and a couple others still use their WWF"..." screen names.
Guest hunger4unger Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 Yup, though the prefix is now no longer restricted. Stacy Keibler still uses hers too.
