A thought about Edge

Will that mean HHH will be revealed as the one who attacked Edge at NWO of 2003?

Why would he do such a thing?

Why would he do such a thing?

Because he did the exact same thing with Austin?

Because he damn well could do anything he wants, at any time he wants, and there's not a damn thing anyone could do about it?

That's pretty much the excuse I'm expecting to see from HHH if it plays out like that. Which will makes this worse than Benoit coming over, or Angle feuding with Eddie...

Worse yet, I can just about see it with all of Edge's comments towards wanting the WORLD title.

Because he's evil and that's what evil guys do. Seriously, I think they'll just play up the fact that HHH saw him as a possable future threat to him and therefore he eliminated him.

"HEH HEH HEH (This is Edge phonetically pronouncing "HHH" because Edge is funny and hip) You don't deserve the World title because you're a DORK! DORK! King of the DORKS! Sir NOSE-A-LOT of DORKSHIRE!"

How else explain HHH/Edge feuding?

HHHe'll use the same old "you came to Raw because you wanted to be in the big leagues" crap.

That'd actually be pretty fucking funny.

When a logical reason for feud escapes a prgram involving Edge...

....turn to his hair. It worked great in his Angle and Booker T feuds!

Booker T:Feuded over shampoo

Angle:Feuded over hair

HHH:Feuded over shoulders?

Head and Shoulders?

It wouldd be a nice bit of continuity if they do that with HHH and Edge. I think it'll actually be a pretty good feud.

The only thing is this....there is NEVER any continuity or history in the WWE. Unless HHH and HBK are involved.

Or ... Edge thinks it's HHH and comes back for revenge and goes after him for months. He and Benoit team to fight off HHH and the heel-turned Shawn Michaels and finally, after months of fighting them, Benoit reveals that it was *him* who sidelined Edge, and he did it to get him out of this way.

There are still plot holes there, but I could live with it.

That's more than a slight exaggeration, considering most of the feuds ongoing right now in WWE have been building for months.

You can't base a feud on a suspicion and have it carry on for months. Especially if it's a main event feud. You have to have a solid base to work from and that feud is working from FLUFF. Then you have Michaels turn heel after a blood feud with a guy who tried to paralyze him. Gee, that worked SO WELL after WM 17.

Bret and Owen also reunited after a THREE YEAR blood feud because they explained everything so well. It wasn't convoluted in the least.

It's not working from fluff. It's Edge just assuming HHH was responsible and going full guns after him for months. We're never given a reason to question otherwise. HHH has always denied it, but also always said that he'd deal with Edge as needed. Finally, we find out that in this one case, HHH was actually telling the truth, and that the man he was aligned with was using him for his own gain, to help him fight off other obstacles on his path to the top, all the while pretending to be his friend.

Angle caring about Eddie, which was the basis of the feud, doesn't match up with history as Angle doesn't have a favourable history with Eddie or the Guerrero family.

Eddie vs. Brock had "history" in it that was never featured on WWE television. They also forgot about Brock squashing Eddie in 02.

Benoit coming to RAW and wanting the world title after having fought 4 years for the WWE title doesn't make sense at all.

HHH and HBK are fighting because HHH wanted to protect shawn.. no wait, he wanted to step out of HBK's shadow.. and apparently HHH never beat Shawn at Armageddon.

Orton and Foley works.

I don't think there's any definable storyline in the womens division.

Chavo and Rey have fought several times over the years, that is never brought up. Chavo is now, apparently, jealous of Rey.

... ok, I guess there is history and continuity.. it's just rarely ever good or makes sense or works.

There has never been any definable storyline in the women's division EVER. And like I said in my post earlier about the continuity, they could have mentioned and even built the Eddy/Chavo feud around the fact that they feuded in WCW years before, instead they would rather think that most of us forgot about that and act like it never happened. This is the problem I have with their continuity and history. Considering that another company did all the work to build that feud and showcase it, why wouldn't the WWE wanna capitalize on it for the product's benifit?? Because they don't care, it's that cut and dry. So there is the reason why I have a problem, and it shows how poor their booking is. Also, nicely put Rudo.

Bret and Owen are family. HBK and HHH are not. Blood. Water. Something about thickness.

FLUFF.

The reason to question IS REASON! 1. Edge is on Smackdown. 2. HHH was having his own problems with Steiner. There's not reason for HHH to attack Edge and there's no reason for Edge to attack HHH. Unless you want to say that Edge saw a sledgehammer at the scene of the crime and that -we find out- that Benoit planted it. But then you'd have to explain 1. Why would Benoit hurt Edge when it greatly reduced his chances at winning the match. 2. Why would Benoit try to set up HHH when HHH was on RAW? Did Benoit have some long-term-plan where he knew he'd end up on RAW just when Edge was coming back so Edge would come back and take out HHH for him so he (Benoit) could win the belt? Oh that Benoit, he's so smart. And he's just playing dumb now to lull HHH and HBK in a false sense of security.

The company has been in the doldrums for the past few years and since November, they've taken steps to turn the product around. If you throw out everything prior to that, most storylines since have made since.

If they were promoting continuity since the beginning of the company, HHH v HBK and Brock v 'Taker would be the only feuds that would make sense and we would be denied the opportunity to see fresh faces in the mix.

So what's more important to you -- having storylines that are consistent with stories told 3-5 years ago or pushing new stars and giving them an honest chance to shine? If the latter is happening enough, which it is, I can forgive the former.

Now, post-Survivor Series, if things weren't making sense, you'd have a point.

The Foley vs. Orton thing also has it's problem because Mick has yet to be able to establish himself as the crazy sonofabitch that he used to be. They should have Foley really dismantle someone so that people can really take him seriously again.

Why can't we have both?

Yes, I forgot, you willingly forgive plot holes. Because why should good storyline writing be expected in wrestling? I mean, if we forgive them now what's to stop them in the future from not bridging the gap? I want them to give GOOD STORYLINES. Plot holes ARE NOT GOOD. They insult my intelligence and have me questioning "why am I watching this when they will either forget it or lie about it in the future?"

Shit, I don't even know why they're friends in the first place. But if you want, Jericho/Christian hasn't been done horribly for the past 2 months. There, you have 1 storyline.

Foley shouldn't even be allowed to wrestle in the ring. At WM it should be Foley meeting Orton outside the arena and their fight "just happens" to spill out into MSG and the ring where security -under Bischoff-forced-by-Austin's orders- allow them to fight.

See I was thinking of a "We will not let Foley in the building" type storyline, where no matter what Foley can't get to Orton to take him apart. Then as Foley bloodies up a few innocent people along the way, he can go to Mania and finally get his shot at Orton. But the whole feud have Orton be the "cocky prick" until Mick finally get a hold of him. I just think it would have been better if they would have used a little bit of old school booking. This would have gotten a huge build for it.

Way too many people just kind of brush over this.

And by "way too many" I think AS is referring to 95% of this forum.

Well, that's what happens when the facts interfere with blind optimism.
