Renegade Posted February 20, 2004 Report Posted February 20, 2004 I am...but I really dont want to to splash out on a hard drive.
dubq Posted February 21, 2004 Author Report Posted February 21, 2004 I am...but I really dont want to to splash out on a hard drive. Ditto. Though, Capcom has said that the HD is only really necessary if you want to "install" the game on in order to cut down on the load times. So if you're willing to deal with a few extra seconds between rooms, you'll do fine with just the disc. For arguments sake, though, how much is the HD?
Anya Posted February 21, 2004 Report Posted February 21, 2004 It's 100 and comes with FF XI. I'm getting Outbreak, but I won't play it online.
Renegade Posted February 21, 2004 Report Posted February 21, 2004 100? Capcom can suck my balls then.
dubq Posted February 23, 2004 Author Report Posted February 23, 2004 Actually it's $100 for the game [FFXI] and the hard disk together.. unless I'm reading this wrong. And, as I said before, the Hard Disk isn't a necessity with RE:O. You can install the game to it for faster load times, if you want, but if you don't have it you can still play a-ok.
Renegade Posted February 23, 2004 Report Posted February 23, 2004 I thought I read that if you want to download new missions and the like you need the HD...I could be wrong.
dubq Posted February 23, 2004 Author Report Posted February 23, 2004 I thought I read that if you want to download new missions and the like you need the HD...I could be wrong. That could be a possibility in the future, but as of right now - as far as I've read - there are no new missions released. =\
Guest EQ Posted February 23, 2004 Report Posted February 23, 2004 So there is a single player portion of this game, correct?
dubq Posted February 24, 2004 Author Report Posted February 24, 2004 So there is a single player portion of this game, correct? Yes sir. Single player offline mode. There is also apparently competitive play.. I'm not sure if that's on or offline, though. I've read a few reports that also say you can play offline with multiple players from the same console.. but when I emailed Capcom, they told me that it was untrue. :(
Guest EQ Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 I guess so much for the RE series being "exclusive to Gamecube"
Soja Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 I guess so much for the RE series being "exclusive to Gamecube" Only REmake, Zero, and RE4 are considered to be Gamecube-exclusive (for the time being anyway). It was only about a year ago that the PS2 got their latest RE-verse game, Dead Aim. It's another of those Guncon-supported shooters. I've never caught the online gaming bug, so I'm not too worried about picking up Sony's new HD. Game's looking pretty good though.
AndrewTS Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 100? Capcom can suck my balls then. Worse yet, 100 bucks AND buying a Final Fantasy title. Eh-eh.
Skywarp! Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 I thought I read that if you want to download new missions and the like you need the HD...I could be wrong. It would be great to use that with a lot of games. I think I heard somewhere that you'll be able to download new SOCOM II maps. I just hope they release a cheaper one that isn't bundled with the new FF.
