The Hurricane misses a clothesline...and takes out the referee by mistake. Shining Wizard on Eddy, Hurricane really laid that one in. Pinfall attempt, but the ref is conveniently laid out. Eddy blocks a kick from The Hurricane. Spin kick by Eddy Guerrero to the face. Eddy crushes Hurricane with a running senton. There's a two count on the pin. Shining Wizard on Hurricane, Eddy really laid that one in. Pin : 1 - 2 - 2.9999999. Eddy Guerrero gets taken down out of nowhere. Springboard reverse elbow by The Hurricane. Excellent move. Pin : 1 - 2 - 2.9999999. Eddy counters an avalanche with a raised foot to the face. Eddy, who is already climbing the turnbuckle, knocks the Hurricane to the ground. Off the top - Frog Splash, forget about it. 1....2...3! Chris Benoit comes running down the aisle, and gets into the ring! Chris Benoit drops Eddy to the canvas. Chris Benoit quickly locks on the Crippler Crossface! Eddy Guerrero has been left down on the canvas. A ****1\4 rating, great bout.

 

Paul Heyman is backstage with Brock Lesnar. Paul Heyman wanted to rip into Rob Van Dam. I'm feeling some serious negative energy in the segment.

 

Brock Lesnar vs Rob Van Dam : Brock Lesnar hits some punches. RVD gets slammed. Lesnar hits a right hand. Cover for a two count. Rude Awakening on Rob Van Dam by Lesnar. Hooks the leg for a two count. Brock Lesnar gets taken down out of nowhere. Rob Van Dam fires off some right and left hands. Cover for a two count. Rob Van Dam hits a bulldog off the ropes. Lesnar blocks the suplex attempt. Powerbomb on RVD. Brock Lesnar moves in for the kill. F5! 1....2....3. Brock Lesnar slides to the outside and grabs a chair, then climbs back into the ring. RVD turns around...and gets planted with a huge chair shot to the head! He is left down and out on the canvas. I'll give this a ***1\4 rating.

 

Lance Storm is standing backstage when The Big Show attacks from behind and floors him. Show goes to continue the attack, but Dawn Marie moves between them, blocking his path. He hesitates, then pushes her out of the way, sending her into the wall. Lance Storm comes back though, and sends him running after a few punches. He goes over and checks on Dawn Marie, who is shaken, but not badly hurt.

 

Edge vs Kurt Angle : Stiff chop lights up Angle. Standing leg lariat by Edge on Angle. Edge uses a basement dropkick to the knee. Hardback suplex on Angle. Anyone remember when that was Shawn Michaels's finisher? Kurt Angle pulls a mule kick out of nowhere. Edge gets caught with a short powerbomb from Angle. Edge walks into a stiff sit-out jawbreaker. Hooks the leg for a two count. Kurt Angle misses a big legdrop after stalling too long. Angle takes a hurrancarana from Edge. Cover for a two count. Death valley driver by Edge, Kurt Angle got planted. Cover, but there's a last second kick-out. Angle reverses a Edge hammerlock. Belly to belly suplex by Angle. Edge powers out of a Kurt Angle headlock. Running knee lift from Edge. The Big Show just slid into the ring out of nowhere! Show drops Edge and Angle with punches, causing the referee to call for the bell. I think this match has been ruled a no contest. The crowd are baffled by the actions of The Big Show, and who he has attacked. The Big Show has grabbed a chair. Edge walks over...and gets floored with a hard shot. Angle also takes a hard shot. Show has laid everybody out! Almost wandered into *** match territory, but there was too much that dragged it down so it only gets a **3\4 rating.

 

Ultimo Dragon and Tajiri are in the ring waiting to start their match. Out from the back come all the members of Canadian Mafia, who invade the ring. They attack both wrestlers, leaving them both down and out in the ring. Canadian Mafia leave via the crowd, having ended the match before it even began.

 

Tajiri and Ultimo Dragon vs Canadian Chrises : Jericho hits a dropkick on Tajiri. Lightning kick by Jericho on Tajiri. Hooks the leg for a two count. Tag between Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit. Canadian Chrises hook up Tajiri, then hit a double suplex. Gut buster, Tajiri hits hard. Cover for a two count. Tajiri takes a back suplex. Tajiri takes the advantage after a i-block-your-punch-you-don't-block-mine routine. DDT from the top rope by Tajiri. That looked brutal. Tajiri tags out to Ultimo Dragon. Benoit takes a flying neckbreaker from Ultimo Dragon. Flying cross body off the top rope! I'll give a 0.8 on the Steamboat scale for that effort. Benoit reverses a Ultimo Dragon hammerlock. Tag between Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho. Flying cross body off the top rope! Even Steamboat would have applauded the execution on that. Back heel kick off the second rope, Dragon goes down. Cover, but there's a last second kick-out. Stiff high kick on Dragon by Chris Jericho who has evidently been watching some old AJPW tapes recently. Ultimo Dragon ducks a clothesline attempt. Dragon crushes Jericho with a big legdrop. Cena \ Eddy come running down the aisle and into the ring! Jericho turns...and is dropped with a double DDT! Jericho in big trouble. Ultimo Dragon has Chris Jericho down on the canvas. Dragon Suplex!!! Chris Jericho taps out! Dragon \ Tajiri nod at each other...and they attack Canadian Chrises! The element of surprise works in their favour, and they have soon left Canadian Chrises down and out on the canvas. I'm slapping a ****1\4 rating on this.

 

World's Greatest Tag Team are backstage. They were building up the feud with Hurricane \ Karagias. Good plan, kudos to the booking squad.

 

Lance Storm vs The Big Show : Lance Storm strikes Show. Storm hits a massive spinning kick to the jaw. Lance Storm hits a rolling kick on Show. Spin kick by Lance Storm to the face. Show blocks a punch. Big clothesline on Storm. The Big Show hits a bulldog off the ropes. There's a two count on the pin. Lance Storm pulls a mule kick out of nowhere. Storm crushes Show with a running senton. Hooks the leg for a two count. Vicious kick to the teeth from Lance Storm. Pin : 1 - 2 - 2.9999999. Show backdrops Lance Storm out of a piledriver attempt. The Big Show fires off some right and left hands. Storm backdrops The Big Show out of a piledriver attempt. Storm uses a basement dropkick to the knee. Dawn Marie has climbed up onto the apron! Show turns...and falls for the distraction! Lance Storm attacks Show from behind! Lance Storm has The Big Show down on the canvas and is ascending the corner. Top Rope SpinKick!!! 1....2....3!! It's all over. Lance Storm slides out of the ring to the floor, then turns and leaves through the crowd. He's happy to have the win, and evidently isn't going to hang around for Show to get some payback. Almost a *** rating, but there were some bits that dragged, so **3\4 instead.

 

A video is played, hyping the upcoming Hardy Boyz vs Angle \ Cena match.

 

Hardy Boyz vs John Cena and Kurt Angle : Spin kick by Jeff Hardy to the face. J.Hardy crushes Cena with a running senton. Hooks the leg for a two count. Tag to Matt Hardy. Hardy Boyz whip Cena into the ropes and hit a double clothesline. Hard back suplex on Cena. Anyone remember when that was Shawn Michaels's finisher? Hooks the leg for a two count. M.Hardy hits a massive spinning kick to the jaw. Cena counters a sleeper hold by turning it into a jaw breaker. Lifting DDT by John Cena, looked good. Tag between John Cena and Kurt Angle. M.Hardy tastes a high angle back suplex. It probably tasted like chicken. Vicious snap suplex! Matt Hardy got whipped over hard. Matt Hardy comes up with a right hand out of nowhere. Tag to Jeff Hardy. Lightning kick by J.Hardy on Angle. Back heel kick off the second rope, Angle goes flying. Pin : 1 - 2 - 2.9999999. Dropkick connects, Angle goes down. Angle backdrops Jeff Hardy out of a piledriver attempt. Brutal T-Bone suplex by Angle, J.Hardy got folded in half. J.Hardy grabs Kurt Angle for Matt Hardy, who swings...but Angle ducks, and in a cruel twist of fate, the big punch floors J.Hardy. Irony is such a cruel mistress. Angle knocks Jeff Hardy to the ground. Angle Lock!!! Jeff Hardy taps out! M.Hardy and J.Hardy remain in the ring. Jeff Hardy does not look happy at losing. Matt Hardy goes to leave, but gets pulled back in by J.Hardy. Tensions seem to be rising between these two. A ****1\2 rating for a great match.

Christian vs Eddy Guerrero: Eddy Guerrero strikes Christian. Eddy Guerrero scores with a back heel kick on Christian. Second rope flying axe handle, Christian goes down. Eddy Guerrero hits a rolling kick on Christian. Eddy Guerrero misses a clothesline. Hard back suplex on Eddy. Anyone remember when that was Shawn Michaels's finisher? Eddy takes a hurrancarana from Christian. There's a two count on the pin. Eddy Guerrero reverses a hip toss. Super frankensteiner on Christian, who hit hard. There's a two count on the pin. Tiger suplex on Christian, right from out of the Misawa playbook. Pinfall attempt gets a 2.9999. Christian blocks the suplex attempt. Stiff high kick on Eddy by Christian who has evidently been watching some old AJPW tapes recently. Christian walks into a trip. Eddy uses a basement dropkick to the knee. Chris Benoit runs down the aisle and into the ring, carrying a chair! Eddy turns...and gets floored with a chair to the head! The referee has no choice but to call for the bell! Disqualification! Christian and Benoit tie Eddy Guerrero up in the ropes, and then starts punching away at him until referees run down and break it up. I'm knocking off half a star for some blown spots, so that's a ***1\2 rating.

 

Vince McMahon is backstage, and announces that at Wrestlemania we will see Chris Benoit and Eddy Guerrero fight one on one.

 

Lance Storm is standing backstage, when Sunny appears behind him. She comes on to him, rubbing her hand on his chest. Dawn Marie suddenly comes over and grabs her by the hair, dragging her away and throwing her out of the room, before slamming the door on her.

 

Dudley Boyz vs New Age Outlaws: Dogg takes a headbutt from Bubba Ray Dudley. Big clothesline on Billy. Bubba Ray Dudley pulls Dogg onto the table for a piledriver, but he uses a backdrop to survive. Billy Gunn pulls a mule kick out of nowhere. Running knee lift from Billy Gunn. New Age Outlaws hook up Bubba, and then hit a double suplex. D-Von walks into a spike slam. Road Dogg goes to slam D-Von through a table, but he manages to escape. Bubba counters an arm wringer with an elbow to the side of the head. Dogg walks into a spike slam. Bubba climbs onto the table with Billy Gunn and scores with a piledriver to destroy the table and get the victory. New Age Outlaws don't look like any means...and they finish them rush forward to attack Dudley Boyz, and send them to the outside. Threats are exchanged as the chaos ends. Almost wandered into *** match territory, but there was too much that dragged it down so it only gets a **3\4 rating.

 

The Rock is in the ring. The Undertaker comes out, and challenges him to a match at the next show. The challenge is accepted.

 

Steve Austin is backstage. I'm actually looking forward to this. He was on hype duty tonight, this time for a match with Hulk Hogan.

 

Canadian Mafia vs John Cena, Kurt Angle, and The Big Show: Chris Jericho strikes Cena. Jericho hits a dropkick on John Cena. Tag to Lance Storm. Legsweep out of Nowhere. Where is Nowhere, and why do moves keep coming out of there? Does it have a factory? Storm crushes Cena with a big legdrop. There's a two count on the pin. Tag between Lance Storm and Edge. Lance Storm scoops up Cena. Edge bounces off the ropes and hits a flying Hart Attack clothesline. Edge slams John Cena down. Cena backdrops Edge out of a piledriver attempt. Big backdrop on Edge, executed well. Cena tags out to Kurt Angle. Edge tastes a high angle back suplex. It probably tasted like chicken. Delayed brainbuster suplex, Angle really drove that one down. Pin: 1 - 2 - 2.9999999. Angle drives a thrust kick into the chest of Edge. Tag between Kurt Angle and The Big Show. Show bodyslams Edge. The Big Show with a spinning neckbreaker on Edge. Edge counters a sleeper hold by turning it into a jawbreaker. Edge tags out to Chris Jericho. Jericho uses a basement dropkick to the knee. Tag between The Big Show and John Cena. John Cena fires off some right and left hands. Chris Jericho fights out of a grapple. John Cena slugs Chris Jericho, sending him down into the corner. While Cena fires up the crowd, Jericho is removing the turnbuckle pad! John Cena comes over...but Jericho grabs him by the tights and uses the leverage to slingshot John Cena face first into the exposed steel turnbuckle! Chris Jericho rolls up the stunned John Cena: 1.... 2... 3! How did the referee not see that? I'll give this a ***1\4 rating.

Dudley Boyz vs Rikishi Fatu and Scotty 2 Hotty: Fallaway slam by Bubba Ray Dudley. Spear! Scotty is down and hurt. Dudley Boyz whip Rikishi into the ropes and hit a double back elbow. Bubba Ray Dudley pulls Scotty onto the table for a piledriver, but he uses a backdrop to survive. Rikishi Fatu powers out of a D-Von Dudley headlock. Scotty uses a basement dropkick to the knee. Scotty 2 Hotty goes to slam Bubba through a table, but he manages to escape. Death valley driver by Rikishi Fatu, D-Von Dudley got planted. New Age Outlaws come running down the aisle with chairs! Scotty whips Bubba Ray Dudley into the ropes. Dogg jumps onto the apron with the chair! Collision between Dogg, Bubba, and the chair! Bubba Ray Dudley falls to the canvas. Scotty knocks Bubba Ray Dudley to the ground. Worm! Boom! Scotty throws Bubba Ray Dudley onto the table, climbs to the top - and then uses a moonsault to smash the table and win the bout. New Age Outlaws aren't satisfied! They decide to continue the assault on Dudley Boyz, stomping them into the mat until referees pull them away! *** rating for a good bout.

Al Snow vs Dean Malenko: Badly executed second rope splash by Malenko. Flying knee to the face from Dean Malenko. Is it Mutoh Appreciation Night? Dean Malenko with an enziguri. Pinfall attempt gets a 2.9999. Flying elbow from Dean Malenko, barely hitting the target. Hooks the leg for a two count. Al Snow avoids a Dean Malenko avalanche. Flying shoulder tackle by Snow sends Malenko to the mat. Al Snow hits a bulldog off the ropes. Malenko ducks a wild right hand. Back heel kick from Malenko on Snow. Trish Stratus is at ringside! Snow wastes valuable time by yelling at Trish! Dean Malenko takes advantage of the distraction and nails Snow from behind! Malenko knocks Al Snow to the ground. Al Snow gets locked in the Texas Cloverleaf! Submission victory! Dean Malenko, having taken the victory thanks to the outside interference of Trish Stratus, goes over and shakes hands with her, showing that their plan was a success. I'm knocking off half a star for some blown spots, so that's a ***1\2 rating.

Spike Dudley vs Tommy Dreamer: Dreamer hits a right hand. Framed signed photo of Charisma Carpenter to the head floors Spike. Running knee lift from Tommy Dreamer. Tommy Dreamer with a spinning neckbreaker on Spike. Spike backdrops Tommy Dreamer out of a piledriver attempt. Spike Dudley smashes a Playstation console over the head of Dreamer. Full nelson slam on Dreamer. Hooks the leg for a two count. Tommy Dreamer reverses a hip toss. Powerful Spear by Tommy Dreamer. Cover for a two count. Flying spear out of the corner! Spike nearly got snapped in two. Pin, but Spike is out just before the three count. Spike Dudley fights out of a grapple. Dreamer gets slammed. Spike only gets knees on a splash. Dreamer slams Spike Dudley down. Tommy Dreamer moves in for the kill. Powerbomb! 1....2....3. Spike Dudley extends his hand to Dreamer...and it is accepted! They shake! This one gets a ***1\4 rating, it was a good bout.

 

Hulk Hogan and Steve Austin are in the ring on opposite sides of a table, about to sign a contract to face each other in an upcoming match. Hulk Hogan signs it. Stone Cold also signs it, but is immediately attacked by Hogan, who drives the table into his ribs. Steve Austin gets knocked to the ground by Hogan. Big Legdrop!!! Hulk Hogan walks off, having won this battle.

 

The Undertaker vs The Rock: Undertaker gets slammed onto a trash can, squashing it. Undertaker walks into a spike slam. Cover for a two count. Undertaker ducks a wild right hand. Undertaker slams The Rock. Fallaway slam by The Undertaker. Hooks the leg for a two count. The Undertaker throws Rock into a shopping trolley. Pin: 1 - 2 - 2.9999999. Rude Awakening on The Rock by Undertaker. They brawl to the outside and into the crowd. The Undertaker uses a headbutt on the outside. Hooks the leg for a two count. HHH climbs out of the ring, the damage done! The Rock can barely stand. Last Ride! 1....2....3. Undertaker and HHH are putting the boots to The Rock! Kane comes running down the aisle with a chair! He slides in, sending Undertaker \ HHH running for cover. Kane saved Rock from a major beating. I'm slapping a ****1\4 rating on this.

John Cena is backstage. He talked trash about Chris Jericho, continuing their feud.

Hardy Boyz are in the ring. Edge and Christian come out onto the sound stage, and issue a challenge for a match at Wrestlemania XX. Hardy Boyz accept, and the two teams trade insults for a while before leaving.

 

Chris Jericho is standing in the set for his personal interview segment. He announces that tonight's guest is John Cena, who comes out from the back. They try to do a straight interview, but the constant taunts from Jericho soon annoy Cena, and he turns to leave...only to get attacked from behind with a metal bar that was part of the set! Chris Jericho leaves his guest down and hurt on the floor.

 

Kurt Angle vs Taz : Tiger bomb by Kurt Angle, executed perfectly. Burning Hammer Drop from Kurt Angle, executed with perfect brutally. Wicked Tiger Suplex by Kurt Angle on Taz. Pinfall attempt gets a 2.9999. Taz tastes a high angle back suplex. It probably tasted like chicken. Hooks the leg for a two count. Taz ducks a wild right hand. Angle tastes a high angle back suplex. It probably tasted like chicken. Angle walks into a jawbreaker. Angle pushes out of a Taz hold. Gutwrench into a stomach breaker, Taz may be winded. Angle knocks Taz to the ground. Paul Heyman is backstage with his client Brock Lesnar. Heyman says that he has a plan, and begins to explain what it is. The scene fades out before he reveals what the plan actually is.

 

William Regal is backstage. He was out there to tell Rico that he was going to discombobulate him. Hey, that's my line!

 

Rico vs William Regal : Rico hits a rolling kick on Regal. Spinebuster by Rico. There's a two count on the pin. William Regal reverses a hip toss. Bubba Ray Dudley gets hit with his own weapon, and is knocked out. The referee wakes up to see the pinfall: 1....2....3! It's over. Another referee comes running down the aisle, and points out to the first official that Billy Gunn used an illegal weapon. The referee reverses the decision! Billy Gunn has been disqualified! The fight has started up again! Dudley Boyz attacks New Age Outlaws, and they brawl all around ringside, then into the crowd! They eventually disappear backstage, still fighting. This one gets a ***1\4 rating, it was a good bout.

 

Tommy Dreamer is backstage. He was out there to tell Randy Orton that he was going to discombobulate him. Hey, that's my line!

 

Randy Orton vs Tommy Dreamer : Ring-shaking slam on Orton. Face jam onto the table. Death valley driver by Tommy Dreamer, Randy Orton got planted. Pinfall attempt gets a 2.9999. Kane slides to the outside and grabs a chair, then climbs back into the ring. Rikishi turns around...and gets planted with a huge chair shot to the head! He is left down and out on the canvas. Almost a *** rating, but there were some bits that dragged, so **3\4 instead.

 

Shawn Michaels is walking backstage, when out of nowhere he gets grabbed and pulled behind some crates. We hear a crack, and someone's footsteps running off. The camera pans over, and Shawn Michaels is out cold on the floor, a monkey wrench lying next to him, with no sign of the attacker.

 

The Undertaker is in the ring, and he calls out Triple H. HHH appears, and eventually accepts a challenge to a match between the two.

 

The Undertaker vs Triple H (For the World Heavyweight Title) : Stun Gun from Triple H! There used to be this blonde guy in WCW in the early 90's who used that...I wonder what happened to him? Dudley Boyz are in the ring. New Age Outlaws come out onto the sound stage, and issue a challenge for a match at Backlash. Dudley Boyz accept, and the two teams trade insults for a while before leaving.

Kurt Angle is in the ring. Out from the crowd comes Brock Lesnar, who grabs a chair from ringside as he hits the ring. Angle turns, and gets floored by a brutal chair shot. Kurt Angle is in trouble. F5! Brock Lesnar raises the chair and drives it side-first into the throat of Angle, causing him to roll around in agony. The chair gets put around the head of Kurt Angle, who then gets driven face-first into the mat, crushing his windpipe against the steel. Paramedics come running out to help Kurt Angle as Brock Lesnar exits via the crowd.

 

The Hurricane is backstage in the office of Shane McMahon, pointing out that his partner is not fit to compete in the upcoming tag match. Shane McMahon allows him to pick another partner, and that the match will go ahead.

 

Chris Benoit is backstage. He continued the feud by ripping into Eddy Guerrero. Good to see they're giving the feud some proper air-time.

The referee walks over...and gets blasted with a clothesline! Lesnar has lost it! I can't decide whether it's a *** or a ***1\2 match...let's go for a ***1\4 rating to make it fair.
