Guest Choken One Report post Posted February 25, 2004 With 4 1/2 hours and only 11 announced/hinted matches...I'm hoping Angle/Eddy gets 35-40 minutes and we won't have to see Angle's usual shitty workset in the constrictive 20 minute fourmula...as this would allow Angle to actually WORK. I don't want to see 23 minutes of Suplexes and watch Angle go into SHAWN MODE and do the pop up suplex and shit.
Guest Banders Kennany Report post Posted February 25, 2004 He's letting the ego run again. Keep up with him. Visions of grandeur. That was exactly the first thing that came to mind when I read that. "Keep up with him"?? It wasn't Eddie that had to take two long hiatuses due to injuries last year. It also insinuates that Angle has faster-paced matches than most. While debatable, it's not like it matters since WWE has made it clear that they're moving away from that kind of match (with good reason considering the injuries that resulted from that style). I don't think that's what he meant at all dude. Try to keep up. Angle thinks being a really friendly fella can make up for him having an ego and really putting down everyone when he talks about what a legend he is. He's damn good, but not that damn good. And I am also of the hope he grows his hair out, so he looks like a loser again.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2004 I like Angle, but yeah--he's tremendously overrated. He's not as bad as Edge or RVD as far as selling, problems with offense, etc--but he can't touch Eddy and Benoit. As far as using psychology/selling--there are plenty of "average" guys on the roster that completely smoke him in that aspect, like Storm.
Guest Brian Report post Posted February 25, 2004 He's got an HBK-style of selling, which isn't always bad.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted February 25, 2004 Yes it is. It's 20 minutes of getting ass kicked and then popping up like crazy... At least Hogan CRAWLED up and shook himself to revive momentum and adrenline...They just up and POP.
Guest Brian Report post Posted February 25, 2004 Yeah, but the fans buy it. It's fine for what it is. Take it out of the context of analyzing, and people watchng this stuff to enjoy it like it.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted February 25, 2004 well...People enjoyed Hacksaw Jim Duggan and his "HOOOO!" But did that mean it was a GOOD thing? not really...
Guest Brian Report post Posted February 25, 2004 Heh. I liked Duggan. He was fun. It doesn't make it a good match or even a good attribute, but it panders well to people.
LucharesuFan619 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2004 Like Buch Woodward explained a few years ago on his site, Bradshaw was indeed a fairly legit draw a few years ago during the height of the APA gimmick, which - let's face it - was EXTREMELY popular at a point. It had a ton of a merchandise and there'd be a lot of APA signs in the arenas. Singles wise, he wasn't a draw, but with Ron Simmons as the APA, they had a lot of fans.
