Are you wanting to do it through your computer, with a capture card and burner, or with a standalone box?

Well...I really have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to technology...so what would you reccomend? What's the difference?

Okay, you can either buy a DVD recorder, which connects to your TV and acts like a VCR. I have no experience with them, but they are expensive.

The other way is to buy a TV card (mine was about $30, 10 years ago), and a DVD burner ($100~). These hook up to your computer, you play the tape, and it is recorded to your hard disk. From there, you burn it to DVD. This can be complicated the first time you do it, but once you work it out, it's really easy. Take that route.

The computer route is the only option for the average consumer. Home Recorders are still out of reach price wise for the average consumer.
