AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2004 Stolen from Gamespot: Studio Gigante developing new WWE game The WWE's Dr. Tom Prichard reveals motion capture work for the unnamed title is under way. It looks like WWE fans will be taken to the gaming mat sooner than they thought. In his latest column on the official WWE site, talent coordinator and trainer Dr. Tom Prichard revealed that Chicago-based Studio Gigante is developing the newest addition to the WWE game catalog. According to his column, on February 15, Prichard "headed to Los Angeles to work on some motion capture for the latest yet-to-be-named WWE video game." Once in LA, Prichard supervised the mo-cap session, "which basically means I would suggest or request various things throughout the day," he said. Besides thanking "Studio Gigante’s Mike Vinikour and Richard Ho," Prichard also gave an approximate release date for the as yet unnamed game. "It looks like THQ will be coming out with the new game by early next year," he said. THQ and Studio Gigante could not be reached for comment as of press time. However, according to its Web site, Studio Gigante is "ramping up" its development crew, with open positions for a 3D character artist, 3D face sculptor, and 3D motion animator. Given that Yuke's is doing the next SmackDown! title for the PS2, it is likely the unnamed WWE game will be either for the Xbox or GameCube. To date, Studio Gigante's sole title is the Xbox-exclusive fighting title Tao Feng: Fist of the Lotus. By Tor Thorsen, GameSpot [postED: 02/25/04 10:36 AM] My guess is that Anchor is not going to be making the next X-Box game. Despite GC's WMXIX having the WORST STORY MODE EVER in a wrestling game (seriously, WWE storylines make more sense than the nearly-unplayable Revenge mode), the game was still better than Raw 1 or 2, and SD's selling very well. It can't get any worse than Raw 1, can it? Although, what's wrong with AKI? And the makers of Tao Feng working on this = not too promising.

Anya 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2004 Anchor was fired when RAW 2 went gold. Studio Gigante = former MK developers. I thought Tao Feng was weak, but they've all worked on MK and MK is the coolest.
Ted the Poster 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2004 Oh, crap. Of every company they could've considered- any of 'em- they chose a company that has the non-MK experience of ONE GAME. Question is, what will a game without MK-style gameplay be like? Oh well, at least Tao Feng had decent graphics. Too bad the gameplay sucked a monkey's nut. Wait a minute- looks like fun at first glance and then after trying it for a while you realize it sucks... yep, that sounds like most of the current WWE product to me. MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2004 Someone is also making WWE themed controllers to be released later this month for multiple systems. Now you can play the game with the GAME-uh!
Karnage 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2004 Atleast there won't be any more Raw games. I'm also not to keen on the creators of Tao Feng handling the next WWE game. Tao Feng did have some decent things like the graphics and the real time bruises and stuff but the rest of the game sucked hard.
claydude14 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2004 Using a HHH controller on an Xbox while playing a game with Linkin Park music being played off the hard drive, would quite frankly, complete the holy trio of ULTIMATEness.
