The Metal Maniac 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2004 Ok, so here's the deal. For the first time in a while I went to go play Vice City on my PS2. I had just finished watching Ocean's Eleven, so I fired it in, loaded it up and...nothing. It'll load up until it gets to the "Loading game data"part, then it'll say that the data is loaded, and go to a black screen. Nothing else happens. Both my other PS2 games work fine (I just checked), so I had a look at Vice City. It was kinda grimy, so I cleaned it off (using a clean sock, which may or may not have been the best idea, and wiping from the inside rim to the outside, like I was told to by some website) and now it doesn't look at all dirty. It looks in better shape then both my other games. Yet it still won't play. Does anyone have an idea for what I could do in this situation? I HIGHLY doubt it's my PS2 (because it still plays everything else fine), but I can't see how it'd be the game. The disc is clean, save for a few tiny marks and a thumbprint or two on the very edge (apparantly, my sister doesn't know how to hold a CD). Anyone ever have a problem like this? Should I get a better cleaning system (like, one of those disc polishers) and try that? Or is it possible the game just died? I've only had it since Christmas, so I doubt it's that... In any case, I'm confuzzled. Help me, please.
Guest OctoberBlood Report post Posted February 25, 2004 1. The disc may be gone forever. Or.. 2. Just clear your PS2. Even if the other items work fine, that could still be the reason why it won't play Vice City. I had the same problem, though my PS2 only would play 1 game, out of about 10 I tried. So I opened it up and cleaned it. Works like new now. Clean your PS2
