As long as Benoit comes back at one hundred percent, I don't care if he comes back this Thursday, or on one Thursday a month or two from now.  But it would kick some rightious ass if he did return this week.

I doubt they would bring him back before the ppv...because he would start an angle that would not be involved at Backlash on Sunday.

With the lack of upper-level faces on the Smackdown side(after Rock and Hogan, there's no one I could honestly see legit contending for the WWF Title), Benoit's got a good shot at a major push.

 

He's returning earlier than I'd heard he would, though, so we might not see him in action just yet.

After Backlash Triple H will be feuding with Austin or Taker(Raw guys) so he'll probably spend most of his time on THAT show, so Benoit has about a month of leeway before the embodiment of evil returns to SD to crush Benoit under his roided, intense thumb.  (rolls eyes)

Yep. The rumor is they are gonna feud him with Jericho, which kinda makes sense, since Jericho has basicly nothing to do at this point. They had a nice series of matches in 2000, so this could be pretty good.......but I'd prefer a program with Storm, as Storm has even less to do.....but then again, they did say Benoit would be pushed as a "main-eventer", so........I'm pretty confused.

I cant believe I'm saying this but I want to see Benoit in a fued with the Rock. Benoit pushing the wrestling aspect into Rock's face when all The Rock wants to do is make movies and entertain. Benoit would end up ripping apart the Rock at SummerSlam but the Rock gets backlash(just cuz he's a face). The marks wont accept Benoit as a champion...unless he can prove himself by kicking their "hero's" ass.

The Torch Newsletter said last week six-to-eight weeks, and Benoit just said himself thats his timeline. I doubt they'll rush it; they just wanted to draft him to remind people that he is a top tier player.
