Guest Black Tiger Posted March 3, 2004 Report Posted March 3, 2004 Here are the participants for this years Champions Carnival. Toshiaki Kawada Keiji Mutoh Satoshi Kojima Arashi Nobutaka Araya Taiyo Kea Jamal ( ) Winner of Hold Out Cup X X I'm predicting the two X particpants to be Takao Omori and a Zero One worker, prefereably Ohtani
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted March 3, 2004 Report Posted March 3, 2004 Fucking Jamal??? Are you KIDDING, Damn you Mutoh!!!!!!!!
Guest j.o.b. squad Posted March 3, 2004 Report Posted March 3, 2004 does anybody have a clue why muto is so high on jamal?(or is he just high)
Guest Black Tiger Posted March 3, 2004 Report Posted March 3, 2004 He's big, he's somewhat agile, and he used to wrestle for WWE. That's about it.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted March 3, 2004 Report Posted March 3, 2004 He's big, he's somewhat agile, and he used to wrestle for WWE. That's about it. No wonder why Kawada quit selling........
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted March 3, 2004 Report Posted March 3, 2004 Well Jamal isn't THAT terrible as long as he doesn't get anywhere in this.
Guest Black Tiger Posted March 3, 2004 Report Posted March 3, 2004 Problem with AJPW is that a lot of stuff has potential to be really good (Kawada vs Ohtani) but then its always a disappointment. I'll wait until the X guys are announced before deciding how good this can be, but so far its a step in the right direction.
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted March 3, 2004 Report Posted March 3, 2004 Knowing our luck Justin Credible will be one of the X spots.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 Knowing our luck Justin Credible will be one of the X spots. NOOOOOOOOO
Guest The Last Free Voice Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 Would Corino be a good pick for one of the X spots? He's in Z1 after all.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 Would Corino be a good pick for one of the X spots? He's in Z1 after all. I don't think that he would be a bad pick, but I just don't think he would be brought in.
Guest The Last Free Voice Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 Why not? (not being confrontational, I just don't have a clue how Puro tournements work really.) Thanks for helpin me out.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 Why not? (not being confrontational, I just don't have a clue how Puro tournements work really.) Thanks for helpin me out. Well, first off I don't know if Z-1 and AJ have quit the solid working relationship anymore. I know that Hashimoto(since he has known Mutoh for years) decided to try a working relationship out with Mutoh and All Japan, after Mutoh had contacted him(I think) about doing business together. But I heard this all soured after Mutoh and All Japan decided to do the ROH Final Battle 2003 show. The reason why Hashimoto was upset about this was that he figured how could AJPW send guys over to another continent if they were hurting for cash? There was no reason given by Mutoh and it went downhill from there. But I guess there is a outside shot that maybe Z-1 would send in Corino, but because of what I wrote above, I really doubt it.
Guest Black Tiger Posted March 6, 2004 Report Posted March 6, 2004 I doubt Corino would be the X, because his name has never come up in conjuction with AJPW. X is typically someone who the fans would actually want to see, and (no disrespect for Corino intended) but I doubt that current AJPW would really care about Steve Corinio. They'd care about Omori because he's a former AJPW wrestler and he just recently wrestled Mutoh in Zero One.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 Any chance of one of the X positions being Kensuke Sasaki???
Guest BionicRedneck Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 X's will (most likely) be Omori and Tenryu. Actually, Jamal aside, this tournament line-up isn't half as bad as I'd anticipated.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 Tenryu I kinda expected and also Omori isn't that bad either, also I agree that Jamal is definately the weak link in the tounament.
Guest Black Tiger Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 Jamal is definately the weak link in the tounament. Well someone has to come in last place, Jamal won't honestly be going over anyone other than whoever wins the Hold Out Cup (personally rooting for Honma), and probably Araya.

Honma is gonna be in the Hold Out Cup? If so, I would have to agree with you on getting him in then.
Mecha Mummy Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 Mutoh's fascination with Jamal irks me. This looks decent, since I'm guessing Omori and Tenryu will be the Xes and that will rock.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted March 18, 2004 Report Posted March 18, 2004 Sasaki will be the 10th person in the champions carnival now source: puroesupower.com
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted March 18, 2004 Report Posted March 18, 2004 Sasaki will be the 10th person in the champions carnival now sourse: puroesupower.com Interesting. I thought his IWGP TItle win might have knocked him out of contention for that.

I suppose. Just another reason why Inoki is out of his mind. Letting your champion compete on a rival promotions show. Just stupid.

At this point though, they don't have a choice as business is so down that they need to do anything they can to draw.
Guest DeathBecomesYou Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 Hopefully, Kojima will win the tournament and finally he'll go on to get the Triple Crown.

Guest Jimbo Posted April 7, 2004 Report Posted April 7, 2004 What is Kaz doing in this? Isn't this traditionally a heavyweight thing? There's no one else in his weightclass and some people are twice his size!
