Guest Cerebus Report post Posted March 7, 2004 Ok, my neighbor's brother came here to the states a while back and has since got his green card. Eventually he brought over his fiance from India (where they're from) and they had a baby...unfortunately because of a beaurcratic SNAFU the INS was ready to deport the wife and the baby. So, they asked my dad and I for help (my dad is a former lawyer). My dad was at a loss, but I remembered something I learned in my Congressional politics class and so I told them to call Rep. Larson (our congressman) and explain the situation. That was about two weeks ago, and now all is cleared up thanks to some pushing and shoving from our congressman! So to those of you think that there is no pratical use to a political science degree YOU'RE WRONG...in this case anyway.

Slayer 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2004 Ah, so that's what a poli-sci degree does... it doesn't teach you about gov't, it just shows you where to establish "connections" Right-o
