Guest HartFan86 Posted April 17, 2002 Report Posted April 17, 2002 What in the living FUCK is up with that. Jericho and Angle aren't booked for Backlash? That makes no sense.
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted April 17, 2002 Report Posted April 17, 2002 Angle is wrestling against Edge. Jericho is probably going to do something like host a WWF New York party.
Guest HartFan86 Posted April 17, 2002 Report Posted April 17, 2002 Oh YEAH...I forgot about Edge vs. Angle. Still, that pisses me off about Jericho.
Guest notJames Posted April 17, 2002 Report Posted April 17, 2002 Jericho will most likely cause Hogan to lose to HHH, thus setting up their feud and match at Judg(e)ment Day. Supposedly, something will go down on Smackdown between Jericho and Hogan, but I hate reading spoilers, so I don't know for sure. But there's no way the Fed's keeping Jericho off the PPV, considering he and Angle are the top two Smackdown heels.
Guest Posted April 17, 2002 Report Posted April 17, 2002 Yeah, I like to hope that Angle and Jericho are being deliberately slighted in the Backlash lineup so that they can "strike back against being so slighted" with some savage run in and beatdowns... What I'd like to see is have them both run in and trash the main event. I see them as maybe doing a New Blood kinda thing, only [hopefully] not as lame and aborted as WCW's New Blood attempt.
Guest Y2DAYDAY Posted April 17, 2002 Report Posted April 17, 2002 From what I am hearing/reading, Jericho was the odd man out at this PPV due to the nature of the split, just like Booker T is on RAW. THe original backlash plan was the 6 man and Taker vs HHH. Then HHH vs Taker, ANgle vs EDge, Jericho vs HOGAN was being talked about but Vince decided to put Hogan in the title match. THey figure since they don't have a good opponent for Jericho that he would be better off just doing an run in during the main event than by wrestling an undercard match with somone like Rikishi.
Guest Posted April 17, 2002 Report Posted April 17, 2002 I can see Vince deciding right at the end of Heat to make Jericho the ref for the HHH/HHH title match, during which Jericho screws Hogan, leading to a match at Judgement Day between those two while HHH fights Taker.
Guest FakeRazor Posted April 18, 2002 Report Posted April 18, 2002 Yes, Jericho doesn't have a match on the card, yet Bradshaw is in one of the highest matches on the card. Way to go WWF!
Guest HartFan86 Posted April 18, 2002 Report Posted April 18, 2002 Why not Booker (Face, Raw) vs. Jericho (Heel, Smackdown)? That would be a hell of a mid-card match.
Guest notJames Posted April 18, 2002 Report Posted April 18, 2002 Because Booker T's not a face and they're not supposed to mix "brands". Not yet anyway (on both counts).
Guest FakeRazor Posted April 18, 2002 Report Posted April 18, 2002 Sounds good, but there will be almost no buildup for the match. Wait a minute... the WWF barely builds anything up anymore (case in point, Wrestlemania 18)... Actually, a Jericho vs Booker T feud would be cool, I'd love to see the promos they'd have together. I'd rather not have Jericho take a step down to face Booker now though.
Guest DerangedHermit Posted April 18, 2002 Report Posted April 18, 2002 I heard rumors that once Benoit returns, that there will be a Jericho/Benoit feud. Maybe Benoit will be at Backlash in a non-wrestling capacity and he interrupts a Jericho promo.
Guest Anglesault Posted April 18, 2002 Report Posted April 18, 2002 Angle's not booked? WAHOO! What happened to Edge?
Guest cobainwasmurdered Posted April 18, 2002 Report Posted April 18, 2002 sorry anglesault edge is still wrestling angle
Guest Anglesault Posted April 18, 2002 Report Posted April 18, 2002 You just love to bring me back down after i build myself up, huh? Just pray that Henry doesn't run in
Guest cobainwasmurdered Posted April 18, 2002 Report Posted April 18, 2002 You just love to bring me back down after i build myself up, huh? yes.yes I do
Guest HartFan86 Posted April 18, 2002 Report Posted April 18, 2002 Because Booker T's not a face and they're not supposed to mix "brands". Not yet anyway (on both counts). I think after this week on Raw, it's an arguable point that Booker isn't turning face. Having a match with Jericho would def. put him over as a face, especially on a PPV. Who cares about build-up? The fans deserve one decent match on Backlash compared to the shit they have given us.
Guest Mystery Eskimo Posted April 18, 2002 Report Posted April 18, 2002 Booker-Jericho won't happen. Booker will probably be on Heat and Jericho interfering in the main event. I'd like to see Benoit return and form an alliance with Angle and Jericho. He's probably healthy enough to do a run-in.
Guest Posted April 18, 2002 Report Posted April 18, 2002 Jericho not in a match thats just stupid Jericho is a pretty decent Draw and one hell of a wrestler. Fuck even Bradshaw is on the card and even high up on the card. I will be fucking pissed if Jericho does a Runs in in the Edge Vs Angle match i hope they atleast have him run in at the main event and screw hogan.
Guest Posted April 18, 2002 Report Posted April 18, 2002 I'd like to see Benoit return and form an alliance with Angle and Jericho. He's probably healthy enough to do a run-in. This would be bad. as. hell. It would be like the triple threat, except with better and more interesting wrestlers who actually have history with each other. the original triple threat wasn't all that great, huh.
