NWA Wildside finishing/signature move list

It may be easier to say Jay Briscoe's finisher is a Tiger Driver 91, rather than all the explanation. Everything else looked pretty good. (granted I know only a few people.)

Expect it isn't a TD'91, unless he chanced it.

It started off as being a straight up Double Underhook Piledriver AKA Money Maker. Just CZW then later ROH pimped it as being a TD'91/Sitout TD'91 etc. Which it isn't from all the times I've seen it.

.... It's not? What would he have to change to make it one?

1) Fall to his knees instead of siting down.

2) Make it a sheer drop powerbomb (eg a neck drop)

3) Not be a piledriver.

Tiger Driver = Double Underhook Siout Powerbombs (TD'91 = Kneeling Sheerdrop Double Underhook Powerbomb). J Driller = Double Underhook Piledriver.

Now, Dan Koffat's finisher.. that's a Sheer Drop Tiger Driver. Looks nothing like a TD'91 or a J Driller though.

Lol. No problem. It's a mute point to most calling it a Sitout Tiger Driver. They're just trying to over hype the move.

But calling it a TD'91 is just wrong.

But barring that slightly mute point, damn nice effort man. Keep up the good work.

I thought it was called the Tiger Driver 98.

It was never called that to my memory.

And the fact it's NOT a Tiger Driver means it'd be wrong. Well, inconnist with all the gimmick name and history behind the name Tiger Driver to a move anyway.

As before, a Tiger Driver is a Double Underhook Sitout Powerbomb.

Every Tiger Driver apron from Tiger Mask I's original has been a variation of that.

The J Driller is a Double Underhook Piledriver.

Piledrivers and Powerbombs are not interchangible terms.

If they're not interchangeable, how come the Tiger Driver is actally a powerbomb? Shouldn't it be a Tiger Bomb?

Yeah, "Driver" and "Bomb" are often reversed, as far as meaning goes, in Japanese wrestling.

mostly because the "Tiger Driver" is a gimmick name, and not a description of the move itself nor the move its derived from.

the above statement about the non-interchangablility of terms has more to do with the explanation of the move and not with naming it... if someone did a piledriver, you couldn't say they did a powerbomb and expect someone to understand you.

case and point: the Pheonix Fury Legdrop is most certainly not a legdrop... it's simply the gimmick name of the move.

Yes, with both the Tiger Driver and Death Valley Bomb, they are both gimmick names.

However, it should be called a DVB as that's what it's inventor called it. It's not the fact that Bomb and Driver are often switched at all.

As with Tiger Driver, TMI had the Front Facelock Suplex called the Tiger Driver, then Miwasa was under the mask and then he brought along the Tiger Driver move we all know today.

But there's never been a move called a Tiger Bomb that wasn't already something out (eg Sitout PowerBomb Mr Styles!)

That's it in a nut shell.
