I download a lot of wrestling music videos and full matches and stuff. I have about 588 MB a.k.a. 650,000,000 bytes of wrestling media on my computer. Most of them are WMV or quicktime files. Lately, when I try to download stuff, it stops before it's only at like 15%, so I only get like 15% of the file saved to my comp. and I can't view the rest. What's wrong? Obviously, the first thing that comes to mind is all the media I already have on the comp., but should that affect it like it does? Or is there any control panel settings I can alter that would help? When I download stuff, I usually stay on the computer and continue surfing the net. Would it help if I went away and didn't touch the thing, or would that probably not matter? The computer in question is a Gateway '98, if that helps. I think this is a kinda common question, as I've seen it asked before, but I don't remember where (this forum or somewhere else). Thanks so much, in advance.

Start by defragging the disk. Close every program you can before starting Defrag. What you do next depends on what are you using to download.

Get one of those download managers and stop looking at the web when downloading. Maybe you got knocked off of the server for taking everything and not sharing or you have been on the net for too long.
