IWA Mid-South 3/19 Results

Recommended Posts

IWA Mid-South Wrestling returned to the National Guard Armory in Salem, IN on Friday, March 19th. Here's what went down...

DAVE PRAZAK opened the show by announcing that IWA will me making its long awaited return to Bloomington, IN at the Armory on May 15th. Additionally, IWA brought on a new member of management during the past week, whose first official act was banning JIM FANNIN from the evening's event. This brought out an irate DANNY DANIELS and RYAN BOZ, infuriated that Fannin isn't allowed in the building, much less at ringside for their matches. Prazak said to take it up with the new member of management, who is actually the new IWA commissioner. MARK WOLF's music hit, and he came to the ring to tell Daniels and Boz to their face that he banned Fannin from the show because it was Fannin at ringside which allowed Daniels to throw the fireball into the face of CHRIS HERO which sent him away from IWA, and he's not going to let Fannin or any of his men get away with anything anymore. Wolf said he'd be closely monitoring their actions over the course of the evening.

1. "The Tremendous" EMIL SITOCI def. RYAN ASH in the opening contest, after hitting the debuting Ash with Tremendosity.

2. "Metalhead" STEVE STONE def. JAIMY COXXX via pinfall following the White Out.

3. PETEY WILLIAMS def. NIGEL McGUINNESS in an excellent twenty minute display of both wrestlers' technical wrestling skill, with La Magistral cradle.

4. TRIK DAVIS def. JC BAILEY. Bailey broke Davis's nose during the closing moments of the bout in the process of delivering a headbutt. Bailey hit Davis with a double stomp, and as he was about to follow up with a double underhook piledriver, NATE WEBB it the ring and gave Bailey the Arachnid Kick to the side of the head, which led to Davis scoring the pinfall.

5. AUSTIN ARIES def. DANNY DANIELS with a Wisconsin Roll. Daniels came to the ring with RYAN BOZ in his corner, but MARK WOLF sent Boz from ringside because he didn't have a manager's license. Daniels and Aries proceeded to have a back and forth matchup which saw Daniels work over Aries' abdominal region. Ultimately, Daniels pinned Aries with his hand on the ring ropes for leverage on the cover. Though referee MICKIE KNUCKLES didn't see it, Wolf came to ringside and informed her of it, and immediately restarted the match. Aries quickly took Daniels off guard, and rolled him up for the victory. Daniels got on the microphone after the match complaining about how Mark Wolf, in his first day on the job, is already incredibly pissing him off. Daniels said he sent Hero from IWA, and now he wants Wolf gone as well. A challenge was issued for a Wolf vs. Daniels match, where if Daniels defeats Wolf, he'd have to leave IWA. Daniels said he'd put anything Wolf wants on the line, he doesn't care, since he knows he can beat him. Wolf told Daniels he'd think about it.

5. IAN ROTTEN def. RYAN BOZ (w/ Danny Daniels). Before the match, Daniels presented a valid IWA manager's license to MARK WOLF, who was forced to allow him to remain at ringside. Rotten attempted to have STEVE STONE in his corner, but Stone had no license, and was forced back to the locker room. During the closing moments of the match, referee MICKIE KNUCKLES was pulled by Boz into the path of an avalanche by Ian, knocking her out of commission. With no referee, Wolf slid in the ring as Rotten went for a cover on Boz, and made the three count. Post-match, Daniels complained about how Wolf isn't a referee, he's been trying to screw him and Boz over all night, and he'll do whatever it takes to send Wolf packing back home to North Carolina earlier than he had planned. Daniels said he'd be in Oolitic on 4/9 for April Bloodshowers, and again asked Wolf to face him, on that event, with Wolf's IWA career on the line. Ian reminded Mark that he can't afford to rush his return to the ring before he's ready. Daniels told Wolf he could have "anything you want" in terms of what Daniels would put on the line in the match, to which Wolf agreed to the match. If Daniels wins, Wolf leaves IWA. If Daniels loses, Wolf gets anything he wants.

6. MATT SYDAL def. "Spyder" NATE WEBB to retain the IWA Light Heavyweight Title in the main event of the evening, following a Dragonrana of the top rope, just after JC BAILEY interfered, knocking Webb off the turnbuckles. Webb and Bailey had to be pulled apart by several wrestlers after the match, including CORPORAL ROBINSON, who wound up going after Bailey himself, and having to be separated from JC by even more wrestlers. Robinson grabbed the microphone and told Bailey he has just about three weeks until they'll cross paths once again in the tag match at Bloodshowers.

Sounded like a pretty good event from the limited talent they booked. A.J. Styles vs. B-Boy for April Bloodshowers should be awesome.

I was wondering if anyone had results from IWC's show last night. Mainly the tournament with A.J. Styles vs. C.M. Punk and Colt Cabana vs. Super Hentai, but full results would be cool to.

CCAC South Campus

attendance: 450

1. Troy Lords pinned Glenn Spectre- Glenn had originally captured the victory but the ref restarted the match when it was discovered Lords's foot was on ropes. Lords then hit a fisherman buster and pinned Spectre and swiped Spectre's leg off of the rope before the ref could see it.

2. Southern Comfort defeated Fabulous & Jimmy Jacobs after a top rope piledriver on Jacobs from Hamrick- get a tape of this show for this match alone. It was fantastic.

3. Jake Garrett pinned Mickey Gambino in 10 seconds after CM Punk and Sterling James Keenan attached Gambino before the match.

4. Promo- The Commission announced that Shirley Doe and Sebastian Dark are no longer able to wrestle in singles matches- Promoter Norm Connors said he was given notficiation of this on Thursday, and gave Dark & Doe opportunities to pick partners and work a tag match. Sebastian Dark picked Soldier from WMF in Japan...Shirley Doe went back and picked...

5. Balls Mahoney & Shirley Doe defeated Soldier & Sebastian Dark when Balls pinned Dark after a nutcracker sweet. Another very good match.

6. A.J. Styles pinned CM Punk in 17:48 in the first round match in the SUper Indy mini-tournament, after a Styles-Clash. Excellent.

7. New Jack and Chris Candido defeated Bubba the Bulldog, Jimmy Vegas, and Dennis Gregory in a 2 on 3 street fight. Candido was originally supposed to team with Shane Douglas. Bubba announced that they have put Douglas on the shelf, and you will never see him wrestle in IWC again. The match went 3 on 1 for a short time before New Jack's music hit. Candido pinned Bubba the Bulldog after a quick powerslam.

INTERMISSION

8. Colt Cabana pinned Super Hentai in the second first round match in the Super Indy Mini Tourney- Excellent.

10. Dean Radford defetaed Sterling James Keenan to win the IWC title. The ref was knocked out by a chair, Punk hits finisher, second ref in, Radford kicks out, Doe brawls at ringside with Punk, Radford hits spinebuster..ref starts to count, Commission rep Wood on apron, distracts ref, Punk ends up missing big kick on Doe and nails the second ref. Keenan goes on top, Radford hits off the top Spicoli-Driver. No ref, Promoter Norm Connors and Commission rep arguing at ringside, Connors slides in and counts 3 himself. Lots of fun.

11. A.J. Styles pinned Colt Cabna to win the mini-tourney, the Super Indy Title, and is the #1 seed in the 4-17 tourney. Fantastic once again.

Thanks, I heard that Southern Comfort vs. Faboulous and Jimmy Jacobs was awesome from the IWC forums. The whole mini-tournament looked good on paper and sounds like they all delivered and Super Indy III is looking great.
