Guest Skironox Report post Posted March 21, 2004 Scooby Doo 2 will be released next week, and will probably rake in gobs of dough, much to the horror and dismay of serious moviegoers everywhere, but much to the love of kids and people who never grew up. I get to comment on the movie before everyone else because I saw a preview of it. Yay, I'm so priveleged. So, Mystery Inc and the gang are enjoying their lives in the town of Coolsville, as a museum exhibit is going to honor their crime solving sprees with replicas of the "ghosts" they helped crack the case on. But soon things go horribly wrong, when a pterodactyl comes in and crashes the party, stealing the monster costumes on display. The evil bad guy masked ghost (The main villain) comes and taunts the gang, who fail miserably to stop the carnage. The local news crew really rubs it in and the town turns on them. So, lots of mayhem ensues after that. Shaggy and Scooby are really dissapointed in themselves and attempt to clean their act up, a foray that lasts all of 5 minutes. Then they go on their typical detecting expos, some of which includes sneaking into a bar that serves up Mystery Inc haterade, and drinking potions that turn Shaggy into a woman and Scooby into Einstein. Eventually Shaggy and Scooby wander across a monster making machine and all hell breaks loose, turning the ghost costumes that were stolen into real live monsters. I'll skip to the end now. The bad guy is Alicia Silverstone! Actually, it's some mad professor dressed up as Silversone, but I'll take the hotter one of the two. Anyway, I was expecting the movie to be really awful, but wasn't too disappointed with the end result. It has a campy value to it. It's not the "So bad it's good" type of vibe from the first movie, as it follows a reasonably coherant plot. I wouldn't reccomend spending 9 bucks on it or anything. But it won't be the worst 2 hours of your life.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted March 22, 2004 I didn't even have the guts to see the first film, what with it involving Freddie Prinze Jr., and all. I could tell you a very interesting story about him and Sarah while they were down here filming...
Vyce 0 Report post Posted March 22, 2004 Wait, wait, so.......the monsters are actually REAL now? Huh. BTW, go ahead & tell your little Prinze / Sarah story. I just hope it's good, like a revelation that he's into scat or something like that.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted March 22, 2004 It's nothing major. Something that you'd probably suspect, anyway.
