Mole 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2004 Shinnecock Hills Golf Club is right across the street from my school, Southampton College. They have a deal with the school about college kids working there, but they don't get paid. I could go to some office tomorrow and apply for the job. However, I don't know if I should take a week off of work, where I get paid good money, to work for free. But at the same time, I could meet some of the best golfers in the world. I volunteered at the President's Cup at Royal Melbourne in 1999 and I'm a member of the club. All I did was hang out at the driving range and pick up balls and shit. Sure, you feel like you're kind of important, but you're not, and the players agree. But that is a long shot to get. I work at Old Town Crossing in Souhampton, it is a antique store. If anything I'll just sneak onto the golf course and watch. But that is a long shot to get. In my experience, that job goes to pennant players and such who are members of the club. You will be doing shit work and not getting money for it. Just watch the golf. On the sneaking in thing, be careful, I'm sure you don't need to be told how crazy security and shit are right now, especially around celebrities and such.
