NOAH's first Tokyo Dome show...

NOAH has announced that on 7/10 at their first Tokyo Dome show they will have the main event for the GHC Heavyweight title as Kenta Kobashi will face Jun Akiyama.

I'm pretty excited about this show. I wonder which outsiders will be on the show. Has Kobashi faced Akiyama yet. Sorry SSS doesnt cover Noah.

Thank goodness NOAH didn't completely lose their minds like NJPW did and book Kobashi vs Bob Sapp, which was rumored to be the main event for this show a couple of months ago. Kobashi vs Akiyama should be good to decent at least. Problem I have is beyond the main event and the NOAH juniors, I don't see the rest of the card shaping up to be anything special.

Kobashi has faced Akiyama more than several times one on one before the NOAH/AJPW split. Kobashi/Akiyama also headlined a major NOAH show on 12/23/00 in a decent match right around ***'s. They've also seen action against each other in 6 man tags and were the main story in a memorable Captain's Fall match sometime last year.

Is there an reasonable doubt of whether Kobashi will go over or not? This is their first show and to pump out another crptacular main event where everyone knows that Kobashi will retain the GHC World Strap would be pointless....

So it looks like a normal NOAH show then, a great main event (how can you go wrong with Kobashi vs Akiyama?), probably a killer juniors match or two, then the rest of the card filled with whatever the bookers think of on the day.

I dont think Sean would be a draw. Its not like he was a major player in the WWE. He would be a good Gajin though.

They're probably too late, i'd say Muto's on the phone to get O'Haire to join all the other WWE rejects that he has in AJPW.
