The difference between putting on a live show and a taped show is HUGE.

What's the numbers or source of this information? I tried finding stuff about it online but that didn't come up with anything. Just curious because "HUGE" doesn't say much.

I am talking strictly about the technical costs related to broadcasting a show live rather than via tape. I am going by the assumption that TNA would still be doing weekly tapings so as far as the regular costs are concerned (flying wrestlers in, paying them, renting an arena, ect.), they would stay the same.

I believe I've read stuff that Meltzer has written in the Observer that said it's more than double. Maybe we should just email him, as that seems to have been working around here lately?

Yea, I was thinking about emailing him. If you go ahead and email him, let me know what he says because I am interested in finding out the strictly technical numbers involved with going live. Not that I don't believe you or am trying to win an argument or anything, its just an interesting topic to me.

Yeah, same feelings here. I'll email him and see if he responds.

Dave emailed me back. His response:

"Don't know the answer. It would save them money, though."

So that doesn't really tell us anything.
