Bored 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2004 Since the offseason is over here is our first major in season trade if you will as the Dodgers win the Milton Bradley sweepstakes. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1775301 Now I wonder if they'll bench Dave Roberts or go back to having Shawn Green at first? Funny thing is some of you will remember Bradley had an infamous run in with his now new teammate Paul Lo Duca last year. That should be a nice awkward moment in the clubhouse. Edit: Damnit see I have a typo in the topic name.

Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2004 I didn't follow the Dodgers too closely last season, but everytime I saw them, Roberts was a consistent thorn in the side of the opposing teams, so I don't know if I'd bench him.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2004 Roberts is 32, and he had a .307 SLG last season. Clearly the Dodgers are better off with the upgrade. I am highly impressed with DePodesta so far. Trades for Bradley, Jason Grabowski, and Jayson Werth for mere peanuts. Trades a mere utility infielder for two pitching prospects. This is a better team than they were a month ago. treble 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2004 I heard somewhere that the Dodgers offered Nomo for Werth, but the Jays didn't want to have to pay his salary and they were worried about his elbow.
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2004 How does this affect my fantasy team? I have Bradley, but I don't like Dodger Stadium or the move to the top of the order. Should I dump him for Marlon Byrd now? They were similar fantasy players to begin with.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2004 Assuming your league counts OBP, I'd hold onto him for now.
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2004 Assuming your league counts OBP, I'd hold onto him for now. It does not. Standard 5x5.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2004 Lets see. I'd probably still hold on to him for now. He's got some improvement left, and his walk rate is excellent.
