Ace309 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2004 Is it possible to use a dial-up modem with a cell phone? Obviously there would be adapters involved, if it's at all possible. I'm so spoiled with my cable modem, but I'm moving for law school and I'm not entirely sure I'll want to pay for cable internet in NYC. I'm probably also going to keep my current cell number and skip the whole "landline" thing. So is it possible?
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2004 I cant imagine the amount of money it would cost (since most cell phone plans are on a per minute basis) but I bet its possible.
Guest Razor Roman Report post Posted April 9, 2004 My friend has a PCS card for his laptop.. he has verizon cell phone service, and he got the seperate card for his laptop with a little antenna on it... he worked out a deal where he got unlimited internet minutes, probably what you want to do, too. Though I'm sure it's not particularly cheap. I know they also have cards like that for Sprnt PCS, I've seen them at Best Buy.
Guest Miss Indy Queen Report post Posted April 9, 2004 It is possible. A friend of mine has T Mobile and used his phone to connect to the internet for a while. With T Mobile they had a plan that was 19.99 a month for unlimited internet. You can either get a plan like that if your cell phone provider has it or it just uses up your minutes. You need to buy a USB cable that you can connect your cell phone to your computer and the company will tell you how to connect everything. You do have to keep in mind that you're going to be connecting at about a 56k depending on your service provider.
