Guest Posted April 19, 2002 Report Posted April 19, 2002 I think that Beniot will return as a face. I wouldn't mind if Beniot was a Face or Hell in general i prefer Heels but beniot is in my oppoion is probably a better Face.
Guest Singular Posted April 19, 2002 Report Posted April 19, 2002 I always prefered Benoit as a heel. He just has that evil face on him. It really doesn't matter since he can work as a fce or heel just as effectively in the ring.
Guest Posted April 19, 2002 Report Posted April 19, 2002 I'd like to see him as a face. His run was cut short as one and i think it might cement him in the main event scene better. I think. Thats if the glass ceiling doesnt strike...
Guest dr deaf Posted April 19, 2002 Report Posted April 19, 2002 heel all the way. That grin with the missing tooth and don't forget his snot shoots, heel all the way.
Guest Posted April 19, 2002 Report Posted April 19, 2002 No one snots like Benoit. I can't believe I just said that.
Guest El Satanico Posted April 19, 2002 Report Posted April 19, 2002 Well WWF needs more "heels" so that may play into his return.
Guest Caliban Posted April 19, 2002 Report Posted April 19, 2002 They need Benoit as a face. They are short of top line faces. Rock is out for the forseeable future, Hogan won't be around long (we hope), HHH is flopping, Austin is losing his touch, Kane was getting there but he got injured. Before Benoit came back he was getting there too, he needs a shot to make it again. And he'll be cheered when he returns whatever happens.
Guest Posted April 19, 2002 Report Posted April 19, 2002 I agree. And hopefully, with him on top the average fan will get used to actual wrestling moves in main event fuedes.

I agree totally but take all the Raw guys out of the equation and Benoit needs to be a face even more. They have nobody except Hogan and Edge. That's sorry.
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted April 19, 2002 Report Posted April 19, 2002 Does the WWF/Vince feel Benoit is not worthy of a Desire Video? They're showing clips of him when they are shilling their latest music cd, but in my opinion he deserves a Desire video.
Guest Posted April 19, 2002 Report Posted April 19, 2002 Maybe they're not doing a desire video because they're for faces- and they're planning heel Benoit... just a thought.
Guest Austin3164life Posted April 19, 2002 Report Posted April 19, 2002 Benoit, I feel, should return as a face. Only reason is because when he left, he was getting a huge push with a program against Austin (in which I heard he was supposed to win at Summerslam). The fans will probably mark out for his return, so it would be in the WWF's best interests to capitalize on his face pops, and keep him that way, possiby going against a heel Jericho or maybe even Austin......I wouldn't mind seeing that
Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Posted April 19, 2002 Report Posted April 19, 2002 Benoit doesn't necessarily need a big "combeback build" with videos and such. That isn't even the norm anyway. Sure they did it with HHH, but the Rock for instance didn't have a lot of buildup around his return, it was more just storyline based. Austin turns on WWF, Vince reinstates the Rock, and they do a one-show storyline with the "whose side is he on?" angle. It might be best to bring Benoit in by surprise.
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted April 19, 2002 Report Posted April 19, 2002 Being that he is not the most charismatic on the mic, would it benefit him to come in with a manager? (Paul E.) Or would having a manager prove someone is undeserving of the world title as they should be a complete package?
Guest Anglesault Posted April 19, 2002 Report Posted April 19, 2002 Heel. I HATE, HATE, HATE Face Benoit.
Guest Anglesault Posted April 19, 2002 Report Posted April 19, 2002 And it's even worse when he tries to be funny. Chris Benoit was created and put on this earth to be the perfect heel.
Guest Posted April 19, 2002 Report Posted April 19, 2002 I'd prefer a heel Beniot, but I'm guessin' he returns as a face. Heel Beniot is SO much better because he plays the part better. However, there seems to be more opportunities for him as a face right now. anyone remember his short lived heel catchphrase? "And Thats Just The Way It Is!" ???
Guest Anglesault Posted April 19, 2002 Report Posted April 19, 2002 However, there seems to be more opportunities for him as a face right now. He'll be heel
Guest Brian Posted April 19, 2002 Report Posted April 19, 2002 Like AngleSault said, WWF logic dictates that he turns heel. Anglesault, try and talk to bps, Tony, and kahran about it too.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted April 19, 2002 Report Posted April 19, 2002 It wouldn't suprise me if Benoit returns and fueds with Jericho. Not that it means anything but when Benoit was on Excess he kind of acted mad at Jericho's actions. Considering they where a team when Benoit was injured this fued makes sense.
Guest bcu1979 Posted April 19, 2002 Report Posted April 19, 2002 Benoit will come back as a face and the WWF will play that up for the first few months while he feuds with Jericho and Angle. But I think he will eventually need to turn heel by the end of the year. Benoit just doesn't have the charisma or verbal skills to get over as a main event babyface in the WWF. He'll get overshadowed by Rock, Austin or Hogan. He always worked best in the silent assassin type role and that's what he needs to return to eventually, only with a manager by his side.
Guest Posted April 19, 2002 Report Posted April 19, 2002 Benoit will probably return as a face, but he's better as a heel. He's got the look, plus he has the in ring ability to make any face look amazing. Also, as much as I love seeing the Crippler in the ring, I shudder every time he reaches for the mike. Since faces nowadays need to have the most charismatic and comedic promos, Benoit will not fare well. He's much better suited to be a "silent assassin" type who has a manager (Hopefully Double A or Heyman) speak for him.
Guest Brian Posted April 20, 2002 Report Posted April 20, 2002 Benoit tears it up as the silent assasin. The thing is, we have no way right now to gauge how Benoit has progressed on the mic. He looked a lot more comfortable at WWF NY than in the past.
Guest Anglesault Posted April 20, 2002 Report Posted April 20, 2002 When he was talking about a neck injury? That's more friendly conversation.
Guest Brian Posted April 20, 2002 Report Posted April 20, 2002 I know, but he never seemed as relaxed talking in front of people. It's a start. But like I said, we have no way to gauge if he's improved or not. He's had a lot of time off without really anything to do.
Guest RevEvil Posted April 20, 2002 Report Posted April 20, 2002 If he was heel, they'd make him a complete coward who would always need a lot of cheating to win. Do you really want that?
Guest Anglesault Posted April 20, 2002 Report Posted April 20, 2002 Or they'd make him Year 2000 heel Benoit...
Guest Posted April 20, 2002 Report Posted April 20, 2002 I'd rather have him on RAW, where he could help Flair fight Austin.
Guest Austin3164life Posted April 20, 2002 Report Posted April 20, 2002 My sentiments exactly. I was longing for Benoit to be drafted to Raw, because then we could see the continuation of the Austin/Benoit feud, which was awesome at the end of May and in June. I don't think Austin has a problem working with Benoit, and I feel that Benoit and Austin could easily put on **** matches consistently.....
