Guest wrestlingbs Posted April 10, 2004 Report Posted April 10, 2004 For the World tag team title, the original belts, the last time I cared was when Booker T and Goldust wone the straps at Arm. 2002. Then they lost them, Goldust got electrocuted, abd Booker got squashed by HHH. For the WWE titles, their creation was the best part of their existance (when the Bashams got them however things went south). If you want the exact moment when the tag titles and tag team division started to go downhill, look no further than when the Undertaker and Kane got them in 2001 by beating Page and Kanyon. The team, the with both the Hardys and E&C on singles pushes, proceeded to destroy all new teams and have crappy matches (the most imfamous being vs. KroniK). By the time they lost them the division was lost and the only tag team left was ChuckaBilly.
LooseCannon25 Posted April 11, 2004 Report Posted April 11, 2004 Raw ---- The last time i was into it was when the LOD was trying to get the titles from The New Age Outlaws. They failed several times, but one night on Raw they finally did it. That was the last time. Smackdown ---- The good times of Los Guerreros vs. Edge/Rey vs. Benoit/Angle
HurriShane Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 Raw- the Booker T & Goldust vs Jericho & Christian feud, because that was the last time two exciting teams were feuding on Raw. Smackdown- when Eddie & Chavo lost the titles to the Bashams, because I was excited because it meant an Eddie singles push.
Guest Coffey Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 I guess it would be back during the TLC days. The Dudley Boyz, Edge & Christian, The Hardy Boyz, etc. were pretty damn entertaining. Hell, even Too Cool & The Acolytes weren't too bad. They were less stale anyway. That was the last time that I cared about the titles. The last time I cared about the teams was back during Demolition, Powers of Pain, etc. days. Steiners, Legion of Doom, Fabulous Freebirds...all the teams I cared about. They were spread out, but I liked teams as teams back then. Instead of two singles wrestlers slapped together...like Booker T. & Goldust.
Guest Anglesault Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 The Bashams killed the tag division on SD!, Regal and Storm got Raw.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 You're right, 'Sault - giving no-charisma rookie tweeners a Tag Team Championship is not a wise business decision. Regal and Storm killed Raw? I don't think so. I think that WWE's Tag Team division started to rot when teams such as the Hardy Boyz and Edge & Christian left - even talents such as Los Guerreros and Haas & Benjamin (notice which show they were on) couldn't hold it up - teams such as the Bashams, Rikishi and Scotty killed SmackDown!. After those important departures, noone gives a shit about the Dudley Boyz anymore, I doubt that Garrison Cade and Mark Jindrak will ever get over, much like they didn't as a Tag Team, Venis and Storm being held-down, Flair and Batista never actually really being involved in the division, their reign/s only being used to elevate the title picture, teams such as Rosey & the Hurricane and like, and the pairing up of Rob Van Dam and Booker T was too little, too late, as Raw's Tag Team division also sent itself into a downward spiral, resulting in what we have now - an absolute crock of shit. And I don't think that they'll get out of it anytime soon.
Guest Vitamin X Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 Hardyz/Edge & Christian/Dudleyz Matches have obviously been good since then, like the WGTT matches, etc... but I haven't really cared about the titles actually since the above feud. The last time I was really excited about a title change was the Benoit/Jericho vs. Austin/HHH match. I just looked up everything, and wow, I haven't cared about the tag titles in three years. I haven't once really cared about the RAW/Smackdown exclusive tag titles. They just haven't seemed important at all. ditto
Guest Anglesault Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 regal and Storm killed Raw? I don't think so. I don't know what show you were watching. They were the same combination of heatless and boring that the Bashams were and they went over EVERY over team several times until no one cared about those teams anymore
EdwardKnoxII Posted April 13, 2004 Author Report Posted April 13, 2004 regal and Storm killed Raw? I don't think so. I don't know what show you were watching. They were the same combination of heatless and boring that the Bashams were and they went over EVERY over team several times until no one cared about those teams anymore I to think that Regal and Storm killed the tag divison. On RAW first Regal and Storm, as a team, had only been wrestling for a few weeks at best and no one cared about them and it didn't help that JR was always hyping them as the greatest thing ever when the crowds were dead for them. Then you have the VERY over team of Booker and Goldust winning the belts in a great match and ending a great angle. So, what do they do with them? They have BookDust loose the belts to the VERY unover Regal and Storm after only having them a few weeks which kills the crowd dead and the RAW tag divison never was the same again.
Creepy Crawl Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 The last time I cared was when TWGTT had them . Now they seem pointless especially on RAW ............. but then again I could care less .
