JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2004 We've had triple threat matches at Wrestlemania, No Way Out (for title shot), Armageddon, Unforgiven (IC title), and Vengeance. We're going to have a second straight triple threat main event at Backlash. Anyone else want to see them go back to one on one title matches for a while after this month? (Especially on RAW)
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2004 Its pretty fucking lame the first time it was hyped to death (OMG TRIPLE THREAT FOR THE WOLRD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE AT WM 20 IN THE MAIN EVENT~!!) so of course everybody wanted to see it and having to shell out $40-50. And now they're throwing the same exact for less money, I bet a lot of people were pissed about that. So yeah. hopefully at Bad Blood, they're go back to a damn singles matches for a change for the title once the Bullshit Encounter Match is over with.
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2004 I just think generally it's an excuse for booking laziness. The matches have occasionally been good - WM20, Vengeance, for example. But what was the "issue" at Vengeance? Brock was champ, and both Big Show and Angle wanted title shots. The end. How about at Armageddon? Goldberg was champ, and both Kane and HHH wanted title shots. Quite the storyline. I think everyone here made it clear that they could have easily done HHH/Benoit at WM.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted April 13, 2004 Yes, but Shawn Michaels wanted Triple H at the same time. It's not like there have been a great deal of Triple-Threats very lately - WrestleMania and Backlash. And it was WrestleMania, so a lot of people would have shelled that money out just for the Pay-Per-View's name - but will Backlash's Main Event overshadow that of WrestleMania? Karc 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2004 I have a better idea. Let's stop having rematches of WM main events being the main events of the very next PPV. WM 20 was supposed to be the ultimate blowoff to the Triple Threat feud, and here we are, right back where we were 6 weeks ago. Personally makes me feel a little jaded that I paid 50 bucks to basically see HHH tap to Benoit. Not jaded enough to make me regret watching the match, though. Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted April 13, 2004 Yes, it really seems as though WWE are trying to make up for fucking up WrestleMania - but there are no rematches where they fucked up, and not everywhere that they did that would a rematch be possible. SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2004 I was hoping for HBK/Benoit one-on-one at Backlash, but this could be good. Hell, I think it'd been better to have HBK go over at the Rumble, and then face Benoit at WM20. Of course Raw revolves around Triple H. When we finally see Benoit vs. Triple H, we know the title reign coming to a close.
